  • haha "and everyday i told him to stick it where the sun shines". oh dean! :) lol.

  • I agree with the top comment there. This show won't be discussed because it's about things that aren't 'real'. The thing is, even though I'm pretty sure none of us have actually been to hell, this scene grabs you emotionally. The whole show grabs you. You feel immense sadness for these guys and yet, yeah, they're fighting monsters and demons. Still... Supernatural is incredible and both Jared and Jensen are phenomenal actors.

  • I don't know what to say. I'd like this scene, I was waiting for very long time and now I saw this scene second time, firt in tv. I think Jensen is very great actor, I allways say this again. Jered, you great actor to.

  • yeah Jensen said that after filiming this scene he was so emotional he had to walk it off...

  • A month is a decade in Hell? I've never thought of it that way.

  • I dont think it's the actors fault. its the writers fault. It's terribly written. i mean really really terribly written.

  • one of the best scenes from SN.........I keep that in mind!

  • Epic show.

  • That small little sob after "How I feel" gave me goosebumps.

  • Gawh! I try to stay away from this scene, but it's just SO freakin' amazing the PERFECT acting...the intensity and the truth of it that I keep coming back to watch it....The bad thing is that I have to do an emotional monologue possibly tomorrow and I HAVE TO SAVE MY TEARS!!!! SO hard trying to not cry while watching this...<3

  • This is real acting, GOD... you know... I used to wish I was born in an earlier generation for Jimi Hendrix and Woodstock. But man, Jensen and Jared, HELL Supernatural has made me think: You know, I'm lucky, I get to experience something supernatural and gut wrenching like this show and their acting. I hope I get to thank them someday. Now I can bring back my time machine to the Doc and cancel my appointment with Dr.Who lol

  • I'm not gonna cry again, I'm not gonna cry again, I'm not gonna cry again, I'm not gonna cry again, I'm not gonna... oh, shit.

  • Dean calls him Samy awwww so sad the scene

  • I cry every time, no matter how many times I've seen this episode. Every time it brings me to tears. Jensen's acting is breath taking and to see Jared breaking down behind him too, only shows just how amazing his skills are. These guys have countless scenes like this, and this is why they will always be my favourite actors, because they're not appreciated enough.

  • So hard to watch : ( I think Jensen Ackles said somewhere that he kind of lost it after filming this particular scene, that he was a mess, couldn't stop crying. Anyways, you could tell those emotions were real.

  • This makes me cry every time that I watch it. Jensen is absolutely amazing.

  • This makes me cry every time that I watch it. Jensen is absolutely amazing.

  • Wait, what? What did Dean have to do to get off of the rack?

  • @yhim21 He had to put others on the rack and torture them. He held out for 30 years but finally couldn't take it anymore and got off and put people on it. Except for Sam's pain and death, that was the biggest amount of guilt that Dean carried around.

  • I'm quite the tough guy but that was seriously breathtaking

  • This literally makes me cry every time that I watch it. Jensen is so great.

  • WHY THE FUCK HASN'T JENSEN WON AN EMMY ALREADY ?!!!!!!

this man can make anyone laugh, cry and just adore him in so many ways!!

we sooooo deserved an emmy for this scene!

just watching him cry like that kills me.. WOW he is a real ACTOR!

  • yeah this part was so sad i cried too..

  • dean went to hell and back

  • F*CKING LOVE DEAN xD

  • his will was strong but not that strong he lasted 30 years another 10 should have been cake

  • @terminator734 he was tired being silced into pieces and all that crap jesus give him a break hes only human he wasnt/isnt a demon like everyone else thats had to up with alister sure hes pissed off at himself for what he did to ppl but hes only human you cant blame him for breaking in 30

  • @terminator734 most people probably wouldn't have lasted a day. 30 years is amazing in my book. besides its not like he knew he only had to hold out 10 more years. in his mind he was gonna be there for the rest of eternity. i prolly woulda done the same.

  • Hats off to the person who decided that Dean had a moment of weakness...

I mean, sure, they could have had him be a macho, ridiculously unbelievable character here 'I put up with 40 years of torture dude!' kind of guy here, but they decided, no, he's human, he has weaknesses, he makes mistakes, and he feels pain.

Jensen delivered all of that very well here. You can't actually hate Dean because he is so obviously affected by that decision...

Great team at SPN, truly amazing.

  • @willkillyoulast I agree 100% with you sure he can be an ass at times and have this "Im a tough guy that can deal with just about anything ive delt with my dads death and i was in hell i can deal with that over time" ego but this does show the dean truely does feel pain every now and then he knows he can make mistakes and sometimes he doesnt forgive himself for it and that he has weakness but it makes the veiws realize Dean's only human he has soul just like everyone else <3 sad scene though

  • @MiraclesSupernatural Yeah, it's a very sad scene. Mostly because I wouldn't have expected that...that he had said yes to being the one torturing souls. But it doesn't make him any less of a person, and I still have to respect him because it's that kind of thing that makes you understand a character more, and despite what we'd seen beforehand, this showed is that Dean does have a limit to the pain he can take. And to be fair, he lasted a hell (sorry) of a long time.

  • @willkillyoulast I would have thought it would have been his father but at the same time you cant blame dean for breaking he just got tired of being tortured himself but still that doesnt change that deans human or that he has feelings just breaking in hell and sammy are his two weakness but that doesnt change my respect for the chara i actually love the chara and actor very much (even tho the actors married xD) but ur right it does help you to see different sides of the chara in dean

  • @MiraclesSupernatural He really doesn't have very many weaknesses at all, so the few he has (as you said, hell and Sam) tend to play a huge part in making him who he is. And at the end of the day, it's pretty impossible to dislike him. He's had so much happen to him.

  • Epic moment but didnt their father last even longer???

  • GIVE THIS MAN AN EMMY FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

  • @MrsAckles09 lol i agree,, he did awsome...

  • When Dean cries, we all cry.

And oh my God he's a talented actor.

  • I started bawling at the end when he was trying to stop crying and his face was trembling. That's pure emotion.

  • powerful scene, why hasn't this show been nominated for any emmy's, this show is awesome and jared and jensen always give great performances, the acting is fantastic from these guys, their very talented, love supernatural

  • i actually cryed there....just felt sorry for him. its a horrible thought

  • man this scene almost made me break down in tears, very heart wrenching scene, great acting from jensen but jared does emotional scenes really good as well, their both very talented guys

  • I wish I couldn't feel anything, Sammy, I wish I couldn't feel a damn thing.

    *sob*

  • Feel like I'm taking away from the emotional connection everyone's posting about on here... But what beer are they drinking in this scene? =P

  • i love this..

  • "I wish I couldn't feel anything" - scene breaks my heart :(

  • this is a scene that shows you what great acting is, and what pisses me off is that when the emmy nominatuions were being discussed this show wouod not have even been part of the discussion because its about monsters and not lawyers or doctors, both jared and jenson have done work worthy of an emmy. one of the best shows ever

  • @ericcannon2 Why do people prefer to watch TV portraying normal things (real life, doctors, lawyers, cops, reality tv, etc) over fictional creativity? TV should be about entertainment, and I can't for the life of me be entertained by the mundane of reality.

  • @ericcannon2 Wad do u mean they deserve an emmy they freaking deserve a noble prize for this. Freaking great actors.

  • @mart2077 You don't get a Nobel Prize for tv shows or movies...

  • Jensen Ackles, is just the best actor ever...Awww...

So adorable and heartbreaking at the same time!

It gets me every time I watch it...

And I love how he wipes his tears with only one hand....

    Always being the tough guy.

    Awww <3

  • This scene proves he's an actual actor...not just a pretty face.

  • "I wish I couldn't feel anything, Sammy. I wish I couldn't feel a damn thing."

Why doesn't this man have an Emmy?

  • Dear god this is heartbreaking. Especially if you believe that there is a heaven and a hell. It's truly incredible to see actors and actresses with this much passion for what they do. That's why Jensen is one of my favorite actors and Allison Mack is my favorite actress. These are two of the most incredibly talented people I've had the privilege to watch.

  • i cried so much when i first saw that. Jensen is thebest actor ever, He deserves an emmy

  • Comment removed

  • this is the best show ever...its so intense and perfect and i adore how jensen ackles is so involved with his acting... i cant wait until season 5 airs in september

  • I think 3 people need to be shot...how can you not love Jensen's performance...He is amazing and this is a heart breaking scene. Stupid idiots.

  • I remember when I first saw that. I wanted to hug dude. I was like poor Dean.

  • GIVE THAT MAN (that gorgeous, beautiful, talented man) AN EMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg i cried so much!!

  • certainly heart breaking....

  • Fuck the three people that disliked this.

The most heartbreaking scene in Supernatural history under Dean getting the crap kicked out of him by Sam while saying "I'm here Sammy." at the end of season 5.

  • @DenitheGreat I know, my eyes were watering at the end of this.

It was an interesting description of hell too. Kind of asking that old question..... "Is it more of a hell to be punished or to be the punisher?"

  • great acting!

  • wow jensen is such a good actor by the end of this i was really crying! lol thats how good he is

  • This made me cry. *sniffles*

  • unforgiveable sin. (Matt. 18:5-6) I prayed to GOD asking him to not have the angels torturing people for all eternity because doing so would make them evil. Since the men of NAMBLA (The North American Man Boy Love Association) think Clive Barker's version of hell is so cool; the Archangel Gabriel told me to tell pedophiles that they'll have to deal with the Cenobites in the afterlife. I curse the men of NAMBLA for what they've done to my sweet daughter.

  • I used to read horror novels until I noticed several of them described sex with children. I sent the books to my sister asking her for her opinion but she never responded. I noticed that Dean's time in hell is similar to Clive Barker's Hellraiser. The demons torture people, revive them and start all over again. I tried to figure out Clive Barker. The movie Rawhead Rex had a priest professing his loyalty to the demon while he baptized him with his urine. Jesus said molesting children is an

  • @Nutmegger80

-amazing experience, the urine does wonders for your skin and everyone should follow this priests example.

  • he says he was down ther for 4 years and he gave up at 30 years how does that work?

  • @curtisnz 4 Months, not 4 Years. =]

  • @curtisnz While he was down there, 4 months elapsed on Earth but 40 years elapsed in Hell. He caved after 30 years.

  • @aish1teru For every day that Sam lived, Dean went through 100 in hell. That's.. hard to even imagine.

  • Hell is the most retarded concept ever to slither out of the human mind.

    Good show though. <_<

  • pretty pimp episode, i never liked supernatural at first bt after watchin more and more into it lately i deff slap myself in the face for not watchin it before, great show

  • @domination305 Yeah, at first it wasn't quite as good. That's the funny thing: All fans love the basic premise of Seasons 1 and (most of) 2, what with all the hunting things, but the quality of the show improved immensly in the third Season and onwards, arounf the same time the story arcs kicked in. But I still love it...the first two Seasons were cool, in retrospect, because ultimately that was an entire 40-something episodes spent introducing and evolving the characters of Sam and Dean.

  • Which episode is this in people?

  • Heaven and Hell

  • That's just heartbreaking, I even cried!

  • I can't help but thinking the only way the Supernatural series can end is by both the Winchesters dying. . . if thats the way they go It will be by far one of the saddest episodes of any TV series.

  • one of the saddest supernatural moments ever. makes me so sad every time i watch it

  • Nice that they added the concept that time moves differently in Hell than here on Earth (I remember "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" also used that). It's an ugly thought that Dean was tortured every day for 30 years. And just imagine dealing with that for eternity.

  • Que dó do Dean,dá uma vontade de abraçar ele, beijar aquela boca ma-ra-vi-lho-sa!

  • this is one the greatest and well acted scenes in this entire show. Supernatural is based on fiction but these two actors make everything seem real and very true. Hats off to the hardworking team of people that make Supernatural

  • omigodd...poor dean...i hate/love it when they cry...

  • that part made my cry cuse it is so sad when dean crys

  • this scene seriously makes me scared, i dont want to go to hell..... damn this show is good

  • diz wuz da best episode eva forealz

  • esta escena es increíble, me encanta, ambos son buenisimos actores

  • He's incredible!!! That girl from "The Monster at the end of this book" what so right; the best parts are when they cry.

Well, this was one of the best parts of Supernatural ever!!

  • totally agreed! And i especially love when dean cries. It just breaks my heart .

  • fucking awesome acting.

  • No, I hated that bitch.

  • this is some great acting

  • i cried so much in this scene. it was soo powerful!]

  • not gonna lie, I am frequently blown away by Jensen Ackle's mad skills, and this is absolutely incredible. He's amazing.

  • The way Dean felt about his time in Hell, about how he tortured other souls down there, as shown in this episode, it lulled me to believe that the souls in Hell don't deserve punishment. The way he felt about it, how he rips himself because of that choice, I think he feels the souls there were like him or even better than him -- blameless, innocent -- when, maybe, most of them, really aren't.

Oh, Dean. Righteous man, indeed. I hope they answer why he's the 'righteous man' in season 5!

  • @kanzakki The concept of hell is scary. No one deserves to go through that, I don't care if someone killed off the entire human race. Being tortured for an eternity... just, no. The idea that God could not only let that happen, but orchestrate the entire thing. That's even scarier. I like how in this show they bring to light how, if God exists, he's far from good.

  • @UnknownXV I agree. I was raised Christian (now agnostic), and I always found it utterly disturbing that an 'all-loving' being could even allow such a place. Thing about eternity, IT NEVER ENDS. Sure Hitler was an evil guy and extremely misled (big understatement), but eternity? I'm pretty sure even spending a couple weeks or months in no-limitation, perpetual torture is enough judgement for such people, let alone trillions and trillions [and trillions] of years...

  • @Raelsatu Exactly. A year? Alright.. horrible, but okay. Ten? Eh.. A hundred? A thousand? No no, no actual number. It simply never ends no matter how long you are there. You can't put words to that, but if God existed and hell was real, allowing it to exist makes him as bad if not worse than the Devil.

  • @Raelsatu I feel sorry for you.

  • @FlightlessBird777 Care to explain instead of just making random comments?

P.S. I feel sorry for you.

  • And the award goes to...

  • I wonder if Dean saw Bella down there.

  • Yeah, WebOnion. I wonder if he did too.

  • This one always makes me cry... I love it... I'm sold...

  • wow. great performance Jensen. what an awsum scene. Big thumbs up!

  • do not believe it deserves an Emmy for his performance?

is shown to be a good actor

  • i cried so damn hard at this scene. i feel so sad for dean! i wanted to give him a huge hug!

i would've given up about 5 minutes into the thing. talk about being brave. or stupid. depends on your point of view. i say brave.

  • omg dats soo sad!! :(

i no dis is random nw bt in season 2 wot did john (the father) tell dean about sam b4 he died?? please help me i cnt find it nywhere!!! :( please

  • have you found it yet? well anyway:p John told Dean he had to take care of Sammy, he had to save him, and if he couldn't he had to kill him.

  • Poor Dean, i just wanna give him a hug :(

  • Few men could last a day in hell...imagine thirty years...What a terrible fate. Goes to show how strong of a will this man has.

  • How is he still so young if he was there 30 years.. I dont understand?

  • i'd like to think it's like narnia. time passes, but it flows differently. time passing in hell, and he wasn't aging.

  • he was 30 years in hell, but on earth it was 4 years, so he's body didnt age

  • on earth it was 4 months*, you got the number right i guess xD

  • @TheBraziliantV I think it's like, the age he was when he died. For instance, if his soul had been returned to his body as it was the day he woke up after hell, he would have been a rotting corpse. His soul is what was being tortured.

  • john Winchester got lucky! he escaped when the devil's gate was opened, but still big respect 2 the guy 4 holdin out that long! (i guess he knew bout the 66 seals, if dean had know he'd probably have had more resolve)

  • 30 years? I would've started from day 0, lol.

    Brave or stupid?

  • both

  • awesome

  • I LOVE DEAN! That poor baby. It makes me cry everytime. I'm doing this for my next monologue when I audition for plays.

  • Putting up with that for 30 years, gotta give the guy some credit.

  • I'm so annoyed. If this video was uploaded 6 months ago, how the HELL was it only just shown on Australian tv two weeks ago? I didn't think we were that far behind?!!?!?

  • How long did it take him to get "in the zone" for this scene, I wonder?

  • From what Jensen said on an interview I saw, he just got so into it that the tears just started flowing, and it was so hard for him to stop. He actually had to take a walk up the road to make himself stop crying.

He's certainly got talent, which is nothing new. =] This scene just showcases how amazing he is.

  • How cute!! He did such a great job on this scene!!

  • I know! He's great! =]

  • Oh wow...he's so amazing. Do you know which interview it was, where he said that?

  • @sweetsolitude99 thats one of the things i like about some actors. as of right now none come to mind cept Jensen and reading your comment. i like that theres times where actors get so into a scene like this one that after they hear cut they gotta walk to cool down. that shows that they do love acting. dean telling his time in hell and crying is good.

  • @krazy2death I agree. Actors like that are the most dedicated imo.

  • @sweetsolitude99 loooooool <3

  • @sweetsolitude99 can you post the site where you got the interview? i would love to see it! thanks

  • @sweetsolitude99 Which interview was it??? Cuz I want to watch it!!!!

  • @angelica536 I found this one type in Jared and Jensen - Acting process and crying (Day two) its kinda hard to hear though

  • my god.

    reduced me to tears!

  • i just watched this again and he shouldd really get awarded for this scene, i think this his is best performance on the show!!

jared is also really good at crying aswell. :P

  • this is a really good scene!! good acting =D

  • I cried like a little baby D: Sooooo well acted!! This broke my heart *wipes tears* amazing scene!!!

  • Oh no...

    That´s sad...

  • thats tight how he said he would be ripped til there was nothing left then it was magic he would come whole again and they would start all over. could you like imagine that ? like being there forever ?

  • Jensen deserves an Emmy for this scene! It's absolutely heartbreaking to watch..

  • me too I was crying to its was sad

  • Ouh that is so sad :(

i wanted to hug him to..

i´m from germany and this year we had season2..and i can´t wait till season 4 :D..love dean in this scene and i nearly cried :(..

    love sam and dean :)

  • i totally agree with loveXlikeXbullets, he seriously just makes you feel like hugging him. and when he 'betrayed' anna, and he was finding it really hard to look at them, he just broke my heart, he really did.

  • i do not cry easily especially when it comes to movies and tv... he had me tearing up... this was really outstanding acting, it really came through to salvage the episode

  • Im that way too

  • I'm Disgusted That This Show Hasn't Got Nominated for any kind of Emmy! The Acting is Always Superb. What's the freaking hold up??!

  • ugh i know tell me about it!

  • Couldn't agree with you more!

  • yea I know

  • i agree-PLEASE don't get me started on how the emmys are fixed and or favorite certain stations

  • soooooo saaaaaaaad! :(

    pooor dean! *sobsob*

  • God. Damn.

Jensen Ackles deserves an Emmy. And so help me I wanted to jump into the screen and hug him. He breaks my heart, he really does.

  • yea me too

  • I think there may be something very wrong with me... I've been pining for this moment since the end of season two... but it doesn't emotionally effect me at all apart from adrenaline. I love these moments in books, movies, shows. I love when the hero gets hurt, but this doesn't make me sad at all... I think I'm broken :(

But I still get it though, poor Dean.

  • OMG..

    *tears* :(

  • Great video of this episode and Dean really was awesome in acting in this. Time in hell, the 4 months that Dean is talking about probably does seem like 40 years...just enough to torture us living souls even more. Well, they don't call it 'Hell' for nothing.

  • ...Uh huh

  • I remember how I kept thinking "hug him dammit", but the scene is more powerful this way.

  • Can you tell me one thing...?? why the HECK do we keep on torturing ourselves by watching over and over those, oh so sad, and emotionnal scenes...(runs away sobbing but only after watching again...)

  • hahahahaha in total agreement with u der

  • 4 months is a long time in hell, it's like 40 years. Like doggy years.
