Quick question. Can you actually take damage in this game? Because I saw that you had been hit at least five times, particularly by the fire plants, from which I counted three hits. If you can't take damage, then why avoid the enemies at all?

Super Mario World has some glitchy hitboxes. An effect of hacking the game causes Mario to clip through things, allowing him to get hit and not take damage, or go through walls (which usually kills you)

@yani296 Perhaps you know this by now or maybe you don't care, but in the description it says it's a "TAS video" which means it's tool-assisted which also means save states+video edits to make everything streamline. Through various instances in the video he died but since it's "TAS" or tool-assisted-speed run that means all of his save states and runs are patched together and omit his deaths to make it seem flawless, or nearly.

Lol. It has nothing to do with save states; the guys a CHEATER, period. He CLEARLY touches enemies multiple times throughout the video, yet doesn't die or shrink. Most notably, 10 seconds in he gets hit directly with TWO plant fireballs, and towards the end he swims clean through one of the fish.

TAS stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun. So yeah, he uses save states to complete the level and the sprites may not match up perfectly when he compiles them into a movie.

About the checkpoint thing, I think if you take it then you can't reach the pipe. Since he would be bigger, Mario's head would hit the side of the pipe, and small mario barely made it... anyway, ssj4majinmatt, it should work if you try it without taking the checkpoint.
