The term is oriental and it's no different from classing someone as black. I dont see the problem here, plus most Phillipino stereotypes are actually true and I know hundreds from many countries.
@EarlRegent No I don't really want to look white I want to look filipino:). I don't get it, are you saying we worship white people or white things :/? I love sounding stupid :P........
@gummibearzgrl99 To be perfectly blunt, yes, a good portion(if not the majority of Phillipinos) idolize white people to a ridiculous degree. I am talking about Phillipino Phillipinos, American Phillipinos, European Phillipinos; you name it!. I must know at least a thousand from my travel and experiences(not to mention internet exposure) and that's the truth. We can make excused and brush it aside but it won't change reality.
What Americans need to realize is that we Filipinos (as well as other Southeast Asians) don't fit in to the usual Asian stereotypes (karate/kungfu, using chopsticks, etc.)
wow im sorry but if somebody ever talked to me like that his asking for a beating. this cartoon is not only racist...but also the guy portrait here seems like the biggest redneck and illiterate moron. i don't really find this funny
Filipinos already are inherently English-speaking and Americanized due to many decades US-colonization. Most of them already know American English long before they even arrived in America. And just because you're white doesn't automatically mean you're American. Judging and racializing people is the most dumbfounded thing one can ever engage in. Stupid XD
I like 2ask what ethnicity a person is. So much cross-breeding,like all over the world. People don't ask my ethnicity... It's NOT white.
I just wana kno,if yur not availble, wher can I find mor like you? Cebu?Rizal?Saigon?Seoul? PnomPenn?etc.. Best looking little brown girl I've seen was Thai/Viet. Little Thai girl with Viet physical accentuations.
so funny, but it's true. i'm a Filipino-American, but some say i look like a Korean, or a Chinaman, even a Mexican. I know for sure that I am an American.
LOL I'm Korean, not Filipino. But people are always asking me "Where in China were you born?" and "What age were you when you were adopted?" or "Do you ever want to find your real parents?" XD
1. I was born in Washington state 2. Wasn't adopted 3. I don't have to. They're at home, right now...
A point my professor made when talking about how Asian Americans are asked where they are from...it implies that we are here temporarily. And really asking "When are you going back?"
I always thought it was ridiculous the question when asked about where you're from and you get a questionable look when you say an American location...but this is a different view on it.
We are here, and will be here for a long time....we are allowed to be citizens of this nation...
