No, I'm not wrong. Pedro didn't start getting good until the the 5th year of his career. And Schilling did suck hard before 2001. It took him 3 years to get his first win. And then, he only won more then 15 games twice. All of the sudden in 2001, he wins 22 and then 23 in 2002? Then he went back to sucking because the juice was wearing down his tendons and then he comes to Boston and wins 21. Once again, his tendons were shot, which explains the "Bloody Sock".

Well it would be pretty easy if you only had 206 wins. Also considering the fact that Nolan played for 27 years. Plenty of time for losses there. Pedro isn't even close to Nolan Ryan's greatness. Seven no-hitters, 5,718 K's, 312 wins, SEVEN NO-HITTERS, 383 K's in a season, and six seperate seasons with more than 300 K's. Also, did I mention the seven no-hitters? Pedro only has 206 wins, so you can't talk about winning % when a pitcher has such a low amount of wins.

Good post but it should also be added that Ryan played for the Angels in the 70's and they were worse than the Royals are now. I seen him lose so many 1 run ball games back in the day its not even funny. Plus Ryan pitched in a 4 man rotation which gave him more starts and K's. Had he pitched for the Dodgers during that same portion of his career He would have ended up with close to 400 wins.

Good post yourself. Nolan is one of my all-time favorites, as I have been a pitcher since I was 12 and I am now 28. Roger, Sandy Koufax, and Nolan were the three men I grew up idolizing since my father would constantly shove Sandy's stats down my throat and say, "Damn it, that Jew could throw the pill." I am from Brooklyn, so I loved Sandy. Nolan is up there as well as Rocket.

Pedro has, what, 3,003? Pedro doesn't even have 250 wins, while Nolan has 312. Sure his ERA is great. And he has less walks. Big deal. Seven no-hitters. And don't forget Nolan could throw well over 100 even when he was 44. Pedro is 36 and he can't even break 95 anymore. Nolan had a nasty curve that Pedro can't match.
