group members are, from left to right Smitty Gatlin,Willie Wynn,Bill Golden,Herman Harper, Duane Allen had not yet joined the group, perhaps the next year he would.
Thanks a bunch for this posting. Have enjoyed ORB since the 70's but knew little about "older" lineups until finding these great videos on YouTube. This is my new favorite ORB lineup. Great song.
Its hard to believe William Lee look like that, back in the day. When I first saw the Oaks, during the Elvira days, he was just letting his hair/beard grow.
This is a great line up..although i preferred Gary McSpadden on the baritone...William Lee replaced him and is in this video..i would give a lot to have these great clips on DVD.
Right on, free366, they never topped the lineup including McSpadden, back in the Wally Fowler days. There has never been a tenor like Willie in any group. Nothing against Duane Allen, but Smitty put the heart into the Oaks. He died too young, as did Herman Harper and Noel Fox.

This group was great. It almost takes me all the way back to the "Battle of Songs" days in Ft. Worth, TX.

They really didnt want to let go of that last chord, and who could blame them...I expected to see the 'bird' fly across the screen.

No Allen hadn't joined at that time. He may have been with the Prophets Quartet at that time.

Actually Jim Hammill replaced Gary McSpadden. Bill Golden replaced Jim Hammill.
