I always played as Sweden in Campaign. I gave England, Prussia, Dutch, and Spain a try. I have to say that Spain is the most fun for me. I like to take out Morocco early and Expand in the America's. At one point England took my Capital and I thought I'd loose. About a dozen turns later rebels took it back and that was the turning point of the war. Now I am pushing England out of the Americas. I'm waiting for my opportunity to crush Portugal and the Barbary States.

A good tactic i find is to send skirmishers forward so they can thin the enemys ranks then pull them back then place them right in front of your line infantry and make them place stakes that way by the time the enemy line reaches your they will most likely rout from the losses they sustained this will also stop cavelry from pushing through your lines

I don't know how accurate historically these games are supposed to be, but just for the record. During the 18th century the spanish wore blue or white coats, not the yellow they show here. Also some are shown wearing some kind of Yellow round big hat. What's that supposed to be?. They wore the tricorne hat only.

i've never lost a match with austria. If you can handle light inf good, austria was unbeattable. Using the doble barreled guns and long range ligh inf, just hit the enemy down, and damage it alot. Then use your line inf to pull them down. Easy game, and unfailable

This is an old version of ETW. The new Spanish uniforms are white with a red outlining...more historically accurate I guess. But the yellow unis were pretty!

@ownage2012657 while this is in my opinion, the British Army wasn't the best in the field at the begining of WW2 for heavens sake the BRA was still training bayonet drills! the german shock troops used though the blitzkrieg were probably the best. They may have been the best trainded but they were not the best in the world. I will not argue against them being the best in the world now becuase I havn't spent much time studying the modern armies.

@FabiusMaximus96 german tactics were certaintly the most effective , it totally agree, thats why its later adopted and even perfected, anyway on the fact of bayonet drills and training , are still practised by most modern armies ( including the US , UK , and many europeans)
