According to nSnopes there might have been a incident where at a Wedding some one wanted the Theme from Robin Hood, meaning Brian Adams song, but got this one instead.
@classicalhero7 That is definitely true! when I was younger I saw it on ITV's weddings from hell and it showed the clip of it happening! I have hunted for it on here but can't find it. The thought still makes me laugh though!
I used to watch this, starring Richard Greene & his self splitting tights and then catch William Tell a bit later in the hope he would miss the apple on his sons head just for once and hit him between the eyes. I must say though i preferred the Gessler as the bad guy in Will Tell more than the Sheriff of Nottingham in Rob Hood
Just found the complete series for under a sawbuck. It's even better I remembered. Apparently a few black-listed Hollywood ex-pats wrote and produced it.

Thanks for uploading - though I heard this tune in German as I was kid. But believe me, it was as impressing as the English version. Goosebumps.

There's a ton of (presumably public domain) episodes of this show over at the Internet Archive.

@trackend Yes, was it landburger Gessler or something similar? One of the all time tv villains.
