it means the console isn't actually running it like the original killzone 2 footage and the when a cut scene in a game looks amazing, and different from the game played, its basically just like watching a pixar movie.

What he means is nothing you see is pre-rendered, meaning the games engine is capable of creating this amount of graphical detail during play.

If a cut-scene is pre-rendered, it means they made that seperately and it's not the actual game making it.

well, have you ever played a game where the cutscenes graphics look better than the games actual graphics? thats called a pre-rendered cutscene. a cutscene has the capability to have greater graphics than the actual game because it takes up less memory of the game and requires less of the engines power. But Naughty Dog usually keeps their cutscenes in real-time. Meaning they just use actual gameplay graphics in their cutscenes.

it's meant to show a more darker side to Nate and how he became a thieve (the title to), also I heard that Elena won't be in it because it show's the player more about Nate like being a thieve and doesn't care about anyone of anything else.
