  • One of the greatest scenes in America cinema history! I couldn't think of a better song to use then "Layla". Fu$^ing epic!

  • layla. I heard it a zilion times before this movie. And it is all I think of again. Brilliant.

  • Question: at about :48 into the clip (when they are emtying the dumpster) is the guy on the driver's side (wearing the glasses) actor Tim Robbins?

  • @ces1drums No.

  • Epic soundtrack.

  • thanks for uploading. not to criticize, but it would have been more powerful if you'd shown the scene right off the top, with the street kids walking up to check the car out, before the piano starts.then at the end - you should've let it roll out to when they say, "and that's that" - anyway still a great clip

  • Thanks for putting this up! I remember hearing 'Layla' as a kid and knowing the piano ending was on a movie too but couldn't remember which one :)

  • Can't even listen to layla without thinking of this scene.

  • Everytime I hear the piano part of this song, I think of this movie. Not a bad thing, though. One of my top have movies!!!

  • hamski

  • Martin Scorsese got me on my knees too.

  • @Muxx1985 one of the criticisms of this movie is that the narration overly explained things. why are you transcribing it?

  • @nickypeeps I think the narration works because of the way it is revealed at the end why Henry is narrating it.

A film that I can happily watch over and over again.

  • @DaveUndertaker i don't dislike the narration either. it's just one of the few things for which i've ever read people criticize the movie, and that guy was describing key plot points that are said directly to the audience as if he was dissecting the movie and giving us the inside skinny on how the mafia works

  • @Muxx1985 yes but wiseguys don't talk like that you fuckin balloonhead - they just say you'll get clipped

  • greaseballs

  • @thegreatmoustachio that's the shawshank redemption,foo.

  • very sad moment..

  • *written by: Eric Clapton, Performed by: Derek & The Dominos

  • @aKunacme

    Eric Claption AND Jim Gordon.

  • @Muxx1985 Wow. So basically they are like fanatical muslims then?

  • The last thing that went through his mind before the bullet did was "Oh nooo!"

  • Note: Never watch this movie with your parents. It's awkward when you call this the best movie of all time when they hate it. XD

  • @Stiny114 Your parents are wack.

  • @Robert111 Yup.

  • "dont paint anymore religious pictures please" i must have seen this movie 20 times and i never caught that line and i just died laughing

  • Shoulda got his fucking shinebox..

  • "Don't paint anymore religious pictures please." HAHAHAHA!!!!

  • The book is even better!

  • who is the dead couple in the pink car?

  • @brancool88 book = fat louis cafora + his wife Joanna film = Johnny Roast Beef + wife in the book she was working for both sides, and fat louis was making trips to the cop shop as an informant (the gang were running out of patience waiting for Jimmy to pay) to be honest Jimmy was right to get her whacked (in the book) in the film she doesnt really have much of a part to play

  • 3:55 i think we all went OH NO!

  • i wish i could tell you that the monopoly guy fought the good fight, and the sisters let him be. i wish i could tell you that. but prison is no fairytale world.

  • @volca23 you're shittin me right?

  • Dances with wolves is obviously a much better picture then this garbage.

  • @arthurvtomcat Same age as well. Hell I just wathced it a couple of months ago. Too many kids now a days talk about shitty Call of Duty, and bullshit justin bieber.

  • Best fucking movie ever made.

  • One word: Brilliant !

  • What does "being made" means?

  • @Krisnadhuaja joining the family

  • @Krisnadhuaja its like a promotion in a mafia

  • when they found Carbone in the meat truck

  • Powerful, remorseful, sexy cinema.

  • @Fcc2274 no 32 million over 30 years...or the cash option minus taxes...now go get your fucking shine box!

  • the true definition of perfection !!

  • MOST EXCELLENT SCENE IN CINEMATIC HISTORY BAR NONE!

  • don't paint any more religious pictures please - lol

  • Martin Scorcese = Best Movie Director of the 20th Century

  • This was the only part of the movie that scared the hell out of me.

  • When someone is being made, there is usually a party right?

  • Xmas money...for Christ sake...

  • Just Majestic !!

  • Ask the Genco Family! Bristol P.A.

  • Jimmy told them "not to buy nothin big!"

  • this is perfect.

  • Oh boy, I remember the beginning of this movie when all those guys were introduced.

Everyone seemed so happy, smiling and shaking each other's hands.

And after a while we see them all looking like dead meat with blood splattered all over them, while this incredible Eric Clapton tune is played in the background.

Scorsese is a fucking genius by all means!!

  • very comparable to House of the Rising Sun scene in Casino

  • 13 people have just been whacked by Jimmy...

  • Thumbs up if you can never hear the ending of Layla again without seeing these scenes in your head

  • @johnisallin yes, and also a montage of marty's films.

  • @johnisallin You have got that absolutely right! Whenever I hear the second half of Layla, "I see dead people." ;)

  • i love that martin used his mom as pesci's mom in this film.

  • im ashamed of myself iv only seen this movie 237 times BEST MOVIE EVER

  • Just perfect, music, scenes, actors, screenplay, ecc.ecc. everything fixed like a jewell.

  • 13 people need to get out their fuckin' shinebox

  • @beastlyshins top comment x10!!

  • poor carbone

  • We always called eachother GOODFELLAS.

Like you would say to someone hes good hes one of us hes a goodfella. A wiseguy

  • Fans of Harry Potter and Pirates of the Carribean can kiss my ass because this is one of the best movies ever made.

  • @BayAreaOrBust why would you compare this movie to children's films?

  • @BayAreaOrBust yea

  • @BayAreaOrBust Fans of Harry Potter and Pirates don't come to a video of Goodfellas, genius.

  • Greatest MISSING scene from GoodFellas: Tommy's mother hears the news of her son's death.

  • What is the music there?

  • Comment removed

  • @thekiller678 Thank ya kind sir

  • @GameJudge That's Layla by Derek & the Dominoes...and it's not just Eric Clapton, Duane Allman is the guy playing slide guitar...

  • You know what is sad the fact that these people were mates, friends of Jimmy Conway and the way he treated them. 2 people were found in a dumpster. A man and his wife were shot and left to rot in a car and a man was left to freeze to death in a meat truck. He know these people and their families and yet he could do this. Excellent direction by Martin Scorsese.

  • Was that a "snotsicle" hangin out Carbones nose in the meat freezer?

  • i always hated Tommy after what he did to that kid in the bar, i was glad he got whacked.

  • @thegreig

    -

Yeah, but after you see the scene with Tommy and his mom, it makes you begin to like him again. Then he gets killed, and you feel bad about it. This movie is just incredible how it can control your emotions and attitude like that. Scorsece was great.

  • @AgApE010 My memory wasn't that short: I didn't forget that that that little creep shot ,then shot & killed a kid. Nah,Didn't like him at all.

  • I don't know whose idea it was to use this part of Layla for this part of the movie, but it is just perfect.

  • Eh, I say its sexist to discriminate. Kill'em all equally! Men and women can be assholes and do stuff to deserve a good whacking. Kids are different, but treat men and women the same when it comes to whacking.

  • looks like he wont be getting the papers, getting the papers

  • Women don't need to get killed. What kind of cowards whacks off a woman.

  • @HippieGoddess142= You got a point. One sacred rule in the "Family", no crimes against women and children.

  • @HippieGoddess142 You saying men need to get killed huh hippe feminist?? LOL.

Anyway the movie the lady knew too much, and she wasn't innocent she knows what her husband does.

  • @OlderG0ds No, I'm not a feminist, no one needs to get killed, but killing women is harsh

  • @HippieGoddess142 lol, I agree that killing women is a bad thing but don't quite understand why its so much worse than killing a man. Children is another story.

  • @HippieGoddess142 Cmon lady use your head. You think she doesn't know what her husband was all about? She was whacked because she knew too much and would have ratted. You think Jimmy would've risked all his work just to save some broads life?

  • @Wubnig what the fuck do you know?

  • @StupidFuckingTrolls I just told you what I know you moron... What the fuck do YOU know? You think having a cunt exempts someone from malice, or death?

  • I just came . . .

  • What a waste of money on a brand new car

  • "Goodfella" was just for the movie, "Wiseguy" made it sound like a comedy

  • Did you notice?

Frank Sivero, who plays Frankie Carbone, also played the character Genco Abbandando, friend, consigliere and bussiness associate of Vito Corleone (Robert DeNiro) in The Godfather, Part II

  • @OperacionMickeyMouse Thats what i thought!

  • 0:47 Something tells me that the garbage man was in seinfeld.

  • I didnt like this hare part of the movie !

  • I was cut up for hours after I saw Carbone in the meat truck, I was always felt like he was part of the gang that was untouchable

  • @24rusguy I felt the same way. I was like "seriously, he seemed like he was close with henry, tommy, and jimmy. It didnt seem right that he was killed by jimmy."

  • "When they found Carbone in the meat truck, he was frozen so stiff that it took them three days to thaw him out for the autopsy."

  • goosebumps...

  • Oh no! LOL

  • The guy who Frankie Carbone is based on, Angelo Sepe, was not touched by Jimmy. He, along with Thomas DeSimone (Tommy DeVito) and Henry Hill, were the only ones who weren't killed by Jimmy. Jimmy did kill somebody and put them in a meat truck, though, but it wasn't Angelo Sepe. The guy's name was Richard Eaton.

  • This is hands own one of the greatest scenes in cinema history.

  • nice cadillac

  • Why did he say oh no?

  • @Matzoh09 because if he was really being "made," the room would be full of people. It would be a celebration. As soon as he saw the empty room, he realized he was about to get whacked.

  • well most of the were stupid they went out and bought cars coats etc when told not do anything and stacks fucked up also by not ditching the truck he was being somewhat smart buy killing all links

  • Didn't Joe Pesci say "Oh n..." before he got shot?

  • @MakoSucks Yep he did. You have to turn up your volume slightly to hear it.

  • Every time I hear the piano ending of Layla, I think of Frankie Carbone in the meat truck. Instantly and probably forever. Took 2 days to thaw him out for the autopsy. Fucking brilliant.

  • This is saddest part of the film. When Jimmy whacks all of his firends, its the end of the good old days when the gang was one happy and tight family. Its sad to watch good freinds and good times come to an end.

  • @toastichedu That's the thing though. They weren't his friends, they were thieves that stole for him.

  • @phuturephunk They were somewhat of his friends though. He had been accquainted with them for almost a decade. Friend or not, he killed everyone just to save money. However, Johnny Roast Beef and Frankie Carbone were justifiable deaths. Frenchy and Joe Bhudda shouldn't have been killed, they weren't drawing any attention from the cops.

  • @toastichedu And he was about to whack Henry Hill. near the ending of the movie. also if you read the book. paul gave away Tommy because he was sleeping with henry's wife. that is something you're not allowed to do in the world of crime families

  • @toastichedu Are you a member? If not,Are you even awake? These are not good people. Do you even hear what you're saying:?: "When Jimmy whacked all his friends". Not someone I'd want for a friend.

  • @Nickcat5 I never once implied that they were good people. But even as criminals they are still friends and a family. Regardless of what kind of activity you are involved in, the people you have a close association are your friends. There is a thing called loyalty. Jimmy never planned to whack all his friends originally, but some people in his group had big mouths and he was just cutting ties to avoid getting pinched. Its sad when close firends have to do that. Make sense now?

  • @toastichedu On some level yes,but remember Henry was heard to say,"It made him(Jimmy) sick to turn it over to the guys that stole it,He'd rather whack 'em" Their big mouths didn't even figure in on it or he would've been popped. The saddest part for me was when these people were killed,For trusting someone like Jimmy. Morrie did have a big mouth, but I felt bad for his wife, not Jimmy,Henry,Paulie & especially not Tommy.

  • @Nickcat5 People like Jimmy are only loyal to themselves.

  • @IamKesyerSoze When you get right down to it,they're all that way.

  • @Nickcat5 Exactly - which is why I will never get the admiration that people feel for these mobsters, etc. The loyalty as this movie proves is pretty much non-existent.

  • @IamKesyerSoze Power is what it is to people,a source of admiration, But if they were victimized by the behavior the story would be different.

  • @Nickcat5 I get the power part, but I've heard people talk about the loyalty between the guys, etc. There is none, zlich.

But otherwise, I love the film. Sort of like a modern day Tragedy. Plus I have to agree with another poster, I can't help but think of this scene whenever I hear the song.

  • @IamKesyerSoze Yes,I do agree,it is tragic and also a Great Film.

  • Get your f*cking shine box

  • Don't come between an Irishman and his money :-)

  • i mostly felt bad for the husband and wife that were killed in the car. i dont like seeing woman get whacked

  • @thewhochilipeppersU2 you are right. and that's what makes this film so raw and real. Still my favorite movie of all time.

  • when I become a mobster i'm gonna kill people to the sounds of eric clapton LOL

  • Zajebisty film

  • fair play to scorcese for making the crap(?) half of Layla a great song for me :D

  • Ohh No...

  • This is one of the most masterfully directed sequences in all of cinema, hands down.

  • @AStopMotionChannel I agree w/ you 250%

  • @AStopMotionChannel Also 'Casino'. but the critics toned it down because "it had similarities with goodfellas". all i can say is judge the movie by its own terms, like goodfellas never existed.

  • @AStopMotionChannel the freezer truck scene was absolutely amazing as the camera flowed right into the truck Scorsese is definitely one of the greatest filmmakers of all time

  • @AStopMotionChannel Yeah, and this asshat hamski has the balls to sign his (screen)name to it.

  • @polymath7 Or he just wanted people to have the ability to see this masterpiece.

  • @AStopMotionChannel you took the words right out my mouth

  • This is one of my favorite mob movies and I feel that those who enjoy this movie, Italian or not you all deserve to be Goodfellas and be made unlike poor Tommy

  • this is one of my favorite movies!

  • All I can say is, this is one of the best films of the 1990's. I don't remember much about Casino, other then it's supposed to be a sequel to Goodfellas.

  • @joshuabrooks21 Casino is not a sequel to goodfellas.. they are unrelated other than Scorcese films and Pesci / De Niro and others are in it.

I like both of the films equally though. Casino is freaking awesome.

  • @OlderG0ds No, they are both part of the Joe Pesci and Frank Vincent Battle Through Time Trilogy along with Raging Bull.

  • never again can I listen to this song without seeing the disturbing, yet incendiary shots by none other than the brilliant Scorsese. Nothing short of one of the greatest films of all time

  • 3:58--in real life that was none other than John Gotti pulling the trigger

  • Name of song layla piano exit great tune

  • simply the best!!

  • This movie easily falls in my top 5 favorite movies ever. And this is hands down my favorite scene in the movie. Easily one of, if not THE best gangster movie of all time. Perfect Acting from DeNiro Pesci Liotta and even Bracco and Sorvino. This has to be Scorsese's best work ever.

  • @kshalloran90 Agreed. It's easily in my top five, if not my top three films of all time. Best gangster filever made, brilliant acting by DeNiro, Pesci, Liotta, and in fact everyone in the film. An absolutely riveting movie from beginning to end. This whacking montage scene gives me goosebumps every time.

  • @kshalloran90 whats number 1

  • @yyyy2999 maybe the shawshank redemption, forrest gump, or jaws...its a toss up i love each all four for different reasons

  • @kshalloran90 i think forrest gump is my fav

  • @artikelmusic - it's the piano exit of "layla" by derek & the dominoes...people erroneously list it as an eric clapton song because he was in derek & the dominoes...

  • love this tune, what's it called? the name pls, thanks...

  • You think Marty himself chose the track? It fit like a jigsaw. What a vision. I want to be brainwashed and forget this movie so I can watch it again. haha. I saw it again last night and I always love it each time.

  • DO I LOOK LIKE A FUCKIN CLOWN TO YOU?

  • nice shirts

  • good shit

  • It took them two days to thaw him out for the authopsy...

  • De niro is the best actor for sure

  • i watch this movie more than ten times and still whenever i got a time i used to watch it.and all the characters which did by Robert De Niro is unbelievable.so sad that there isn't any guy could replace de niro when he got retired.anyway this is a mind blowing movie.as a Buddhist person i never recommended killing or violence.but as soon as i watch this film i felt like to become a good fella.

  • Martin Scorecse you are a genius! Best Actors of all time!

  • YO JUST REMEMBER WERE U COME FROM!

  • You'd think all these bodies would kind of lead somewhere and eliminate some options?

  • freshest lettuce around a dead body ive ever seen.

  • In the book Wiseguy it says: "...A top mobster who was also a member of the Colombo crime family and an FBI informant, called his contact agent and identified the man behind Lufthansa as Jimmy Burke." I bet all my shekels that the "informant" was Gregory Scarpa.
