I've been working with a year 6 class on the English Civil War and representing narrative in non written forms, they absolutely love this song so do I!!!
1643. The English Civil War. The fortofied coastal town of Plymouth was held by the Parliment forces, under the command of General Ruthin. The Royalist army under the command of General Hopton laid siege to the Town and castle. Even the local town folk took up arms to hold the royalists off. When the tale of the siege reached London a relief force was raised in Berkshire to aid the defenders. The Royalists, rather than be caught between the town and the re-enforcements quit the field of battle.
Your welcome Dodstar...Trying to work out the tale behind Riflemen of War, but having trouble..."We'll crush the North in '53"....be nice to know the century lol..
I think it's the anglo-dutch war of 1853, but no clue to the battle. I'll let you know
