@electricdreamdesigns Kagaku ninja tai Gatchaman was in 72. I could be wrong but it's the series I always associate with starting the whole color coded super hero team. It was the coolest of the first generation jap hero teams for sure.

Not really, The original Super sentai series, Goranger, came out in 1974 I think, and Voltron didn't come out till the 80's.
