Well it was more my intention to express how great I think your videos have been by way of falling on my sword creatively. :) No, really, I just got involved in a new project, a web series, and left a lot of half done attempts open in Final Cut. But not that the first episode is done, I can go back to the drawing board on more colbert videos. I have a great idea for Wall-E but I'm a little scared to do it, I don't want to anger Pixar, because Andrew Stanton made me cry tears of joy with Wall-E.

How do you make these things? I downloaded the video but don't know how to make one of these things.

Most of this was done in After Effects. The logo at the end was done in Modo. The basic process for a head replacement:

1: Remove the old head. I paint a "clean" bachground (one with the head removed) in Photoshop. I track that clean background to the shot, and make a mask that reveals the clean background only where the old head was.

2: Stabilize the replacement head so it's stationary in frame.

3: Track the motion of the old head, and apply that motion to the replacement head.

Voila!
