I usually don't mind the dubbing ever. In fact, as long as I don't hate it, I usually go with it. While you can certainly read subtitles and watch the animation at the same time, I don't feel like the art and animation get as much devoted attention as it should. Subtitles add a burden to that task...so for me I need a damn good reason to put them on.

@KazukiriMishamiota Yeah it is unfortunate that you think that. lots of anime fans have a huge bias against dubs for some dumb reason. truth is the quality is about the same for dub and sub for this anime. what makes you a expert at this anyways? as for me there are some voices I like more in the sub and vice versa.

If you want a bad dub go watch the malaysian english dub. then you might realize its not bad.

@enajacko Yeah there will be a 3rd season for shakugan no shana. The thing is, you need to wait until the current season is over (Shakugan no Shana S). There is only 4 episodes, and 3 out of 4 already aired. The last one air's on September 24. The reason for Shakugan no Shana S is to "introduce the characters and their deeper feelings". Just google shakugan no shana season 3 and look for the site myanimelist.

The dubbed voices are...okay, I guess. Some of the voices sound spot-on, while others just don't seem right (such as Alastor, who sounds too young, and Shana who sounds too mature.) I watched the Japanese series before seeing this, though, and so that sort of ruined the English voice cast for me - I'm too used to the original voices to be able to appreciate the English ones in the same way that someone just starting to watch the series for the first time, seeing the English version, would.

But then again, it's your opinion, are you aware a lot of our anime dub VAs do non-anime voiceover like I believe Steve Blum who voiced Spike Spiegel and other anime characters voiced Wolverine. A lot of Japanese VAs do non-anime voiceover like I believe Masashi Ebara who voiced Alastor in this show was also the voice of Wolverine in the 1990's X-men.
