  • BAR= browning automatic rifle?

  • when i see the FN fal i first thing that comes to mind is the bush wars or the aussies in vietnam

  • @fuxemharder The 7.62 is little more than a cut down .30-06. With the .30-06 being designed in 1906, it was based on old gunpowder. By the end of WWII, powder had improved, so they could effectively cut down cartridge size without losing too much, if anything in ballistics. In ballistics, the two are very similar, though not the same. If you reload, they use the same bullet seated on top of the shell casing.

  • I really like your "bullshit" rifle. FN did in fact make Browning Hi Powers. They made the originals. John Browning was commissioned by them to design the first Hi Powers for the French. The Browning company didn't start manufacturing Hi Powers under their name until a while later. At one time, both companies (and others) were producing "Hi Powers" at the same time. I have an FN P35 from 1986.

  • It was my understanding that the 7.62 NATO was based on the .300 savage rather than the .30-06.

  • this was my personal weapon in the dutch army in 92-93 . very good gun , we even shot on targets 300 meter away . its pretty similar to what the americans had then [ not sure what it was but we used to see them practicin at the same shootin track in germany] the americans automatic function is not very usefull in combat , only in movies and xbox :]

  • @eckocrazy25 Ah, I see, It's ok.

  • @eckocrazy25 Overreaction much?

  • Yo eckocrazy25 is gay in he play Xbox lol

  • Were you got it from?

  • duffel coats are stupid. for the cost of that gun you could have your teeth fixed

  • @cdrach Perhaps he'll fix yours with the butt of that FN?

  • Used one during my N/S / territorial call time in Rhodesia (bush war) . You mention the magazine holding 20 rounds. We only ever used to load 19 as with the full 20 (strain on magazine spring) it was prone to jamming. Additionally, 18 was always a tracer - indication when you saw that, your last round was in the chamber. Our F.N.'s where also devoid of the carrying handle With a balistite cartridge, it could be used to fire a rifle propelled grenade. know where i can get a relica? thanks

I too love buying BS guns myself!

    Jman

  • great video man

  • That was an awful lot of talking just to show you shooting 5 shots, lol.. just kidding, very informative vid.

  • You have a beautiful diction. Lovely verbiage. You sound very sophisticated and educated. Thank you for this presentation.

  • I like your explanation of your gun lol. Im only 13 and wouldn't know much about it. Anyway, I was just wanting to say. You seem like a really educated person with lots of potential and I wish you were my best friend :) You are so gosh darn entertaining and I love your music covers the most. I listen to oldies too. Keep up the good work.

  • if you like the fal check out the FN 49 they are beutiful rifles

  • I like the rifle, but saying that the AK was used by the bad guys was not accurate. The world was divided in two by then, and each half was deemed "bad" by the other one. Therefore, in one concept, you are the bad guys too. (Just pointing out my view, I don't mean to sound "the right guy" on the subject, sorry). The FAL is the main rifle of Brazilian Army, along with the PARA-FAL variant, both built under license by IMBEL here. But as an antique weapon, it is being swapped by the TAR-21.

  • @CometaVermelho89 That's certainly true, but I figured that most would realized that I was trying to speak in very simple, general terms. The Kalashnikov is most recognized in the U.S. for it's tie to communism, the Vietnam War, and more recently in the hands of the Taliban. So, instead of running down the list I simply referred to the "bad guys' in general, as in those in opposition of most of the forces which were armed with the FAL. It's not a stigma I share in, as I personally love the AK.

  • @Agent0061958 Thank you for your polite reply. I understood your reference. Keep up with the great videos.

  • G3 or FN FAL???

  • the right arm of the free world.

  • Very informative video.

  • Guns are for the artillery son, it's a RIFLE!

  • honestly this video was great the history lesson in the begginings the best you may have just sold a rifle my good man because im really liking that gun and id love to get myself one

  • Hey man,

This is a pretty good video. If you feel inclined to talk more about your other guns and demonstrate them, by all means do it. I liked that you mentioned a bit about the history of the gun's purpose and the cartridge it uses.

  • Nice presentation and it brought back so many fond memories. Still one of the best assault rifles in my book, but it was my first.

  • Pretty awesome presentation.

Need to do something about the wind blowing on the mic on the camera.

Perhaps a makeshift screen could be made out of foam?

  • The M248 SAW (don't know the exact number) is in fact an FAL design I heard, same goes for the new SCAR rifles that the now uses for special forces.

(People laugh sometimes about belgians, but we damn know how to build a descent gun.)

  • @dekster14LP While they aren't derived from the FAL itself, the M249 and SCAR rifles are however both fine products of Fabrique Nationale, or other wise known as FN Herstal. I can't think of any FN designs that I don't like, so I'd have to agree that the Belgians are gifted when it comes to building firearms.

  • @Agent0061958

I meant FN, typed too fast. :)

(the SAW and Scar have quite a few simularities, that I'm quite sure about)

The funny thing, for such an firearms country, it's almost impossible to own one in Belgium. Let alone stand the fact taking it to a firing range.

  • @dekster14LP Wow, that's a shame. Original Belgian FN-FAL's are highly prized here in the U.S. and I can't say that I've even seen on in person. Most FAL's found here were butchered and rebuilt on new receivers, and many here often groan about the laws which further complicated the matter, but at least we can legally own and enjoy them. That's not something I take for granted, especially given that there are other people in the world whom I feel are more entitled to that right than I am.

  • @dekster14LP It's no so difficult to own one in Belgium but you have to go through a long 6 month process to acquire a sportsshooting license. Once you have that license you just have to apply for a license to own a FAL or another semi auto. Time is again the constraint and burden. But if you can sit out the time for the paperwork it's all feasible.

  • @Agent0061958 we make great guns (i'll not say the best guns in the world to avoid an arguement)

but when you take a closer look, you can see some similarities with the FAL on the Minime and SCAR

Which FAL do you have?? Looks like the classic one but w/o the wooden furniture

    British L1A1 SLR maybe?

  • @dekster14LP m249

  • Wow. You know your guns. Nice video.

  • Amazing info powerful kick back when fired ty for tutorial hey when u get time check out my brown eyed handsome man cover and others

  • Why is it always windy when you go shooting? XD
