y need help! when i put some videos on the timeline, and i press "play" I Heard the audio, but viever slug stays black and the canvas screen turns blue and it sais "unrendered", but if i stop it, the slug stay the same, but i can see the image where the video has been stopped at. What does it means? May it be the format? I use .mov

O I just realized that that clip in this tutorial is from robocop how did you get it to read in final cut did you change format and if so what format I know how to convert but all my movie files I took from my DVD and that I downloaded are in .avi my main question is what is the best and fast way to convert my movie files to the format final cut understands.

I would know how to use final cut but I have bought it when I got my mac and have not done one video in it because I found out that .avi files do not work in it what sucks is that sony vegas does not work on my mac unless I have a virtual version if windows well I do but.. I also bought that program as well 3 months before I got my mac and final cut. do you know of a way to convert all of my .avi flies to the format final cut understands, which is a way that is fast and does not takes hours.

Hi if you go to HELP in Final Cut Studio 3 and type "FILE FORMATS", You should be directed to a section in the online Final Cut Pro 7 menu that tells you what file formats can be imported. AVI is an importable format in Pro7. You can also import QuickTime Movie. Maybe converting your existing files to QuickTime will be of help if you are having problems. I'd save a backup first of each file. Regards.

you probably deleted your sequence. create a new sequence then double click it.
