Thare is a problem with many people i have talkesd to these machines are overpowered and "raceready" which is good but the clutches are stock like yamaha honda ect. so you will burn the clutch quick but all you have to do is buy a aftermarket clutch and you wont have that problem

have you ridden the 450 yet? they turn alot better and the suspension is alot more forgiving then these 525's, i love the ktm's but i havnt found anything to make me as happy as i am on my LT-R450, awesome quads though its about time KTM got in the game

Those KTMs are fucking bad ass!!! i love'em and you know you can unplug one wire thats under the hood in the front that gives you a completely different ignition curve, harder hit, and more power threw all your gears!!! try it if you havent already and see how much more power and torque you get out of it!

a few of the guys i ride with that have 525XC's have unplugged theres, i havent ridden them but most of the time they dont use it because it's got to much power and the front just wants to come up non stop

if you can test ride them, then do it...i've ridden lots of different machines and these KTM's are in a league of there own...great powerband, amazing breaks and the suspension is top notch...the best part is you dont need to modify it at all...mine's been "stock" all summer, even though they come with ohlins suspension, magura breaks, douglas wheels, maxxis tires, full chromoly frame and Air arms...it also comes with wheel spacers and the exhaust doesnt feel restrictive at all

i was in the same boat, if you can afford this machine then buy it, i'm not gonna lie dude you'll be very happy with your purchase...

i was deciding between a YFZ, Raptor 700, and This KTM

i picked this because it's got the handling and weight of a 450 race machine but the power of a big bore...if you take one out in the woods you'll have the biggest smile on your face afterwards...i ride mine as much as possible and i haven't had one moment where i'd want to ride anything else

If your going to trail ride, get a raptor. If you want to save some money, get a Z400/DVX400/KFX400 (all the exact same quad). They will run with the 450's with just a slip-on, jet kit, and filter. They are much better suited for the trails. Trust me, if your riding tight woods trails, you don't need that much power. I used to have a raptor 350, until my wife totalled it. I got a hell of a deal on an 07 Predator. Long story short, I've nearly shit myself more than a few times now.
