in new vegas money isn't worth as much cuz like everything is 3x as expensive and you get it 3x faster than in fallout 3 so having 5k is big in fallout 3 and ok in new vegas

on fallout 3 at the moment i currenty have: 123,779 caps with no glitches, cheats, mods ect. but i get about 1000 - 5000 more each time i play. i maneged to do this by playing fallout 3 for over a year, and by simply scavaging buildings, doing quests and killing bad characters and taking their gear and then selling all of it. (if i killed the good NPC's i would probably have double the amount i have now)

also if u have broken steel, you can call in the sattelite strike on the citadel instead. blows up citadel and reveals the armory. you get tons of good shit, but no more citadel. i didnt do it.

It's a plasma rifle. You get 'em fairly often from the Enclave, or you can get one for free by doing the Replicated Man quest.

@Luigi110067 use the sell/buy glitch. when a merchant has two of the same item buy the item with lower condition.The conditions MUST be different! Then sell it back. Then buy it back. After you buy it the second time, it is able to be SOLD at FULL condition. The real glitch is that when you sell it back, the condition goes back to the original condition. So, you are selling a FULL condition item and buying a LOW condition item. Then just continue till the merchant runs out of caps!

it might be with what your wearing maybe it has - lockpicking which is unlikely so i think it might be that your wearing something which makes your perception go lower (its the stat which governs lockpicking?

you kill traders take their keys for their inventory or pick pocket them and take their keys for their inventory and go to their inventory (suit case). but this can make your karma go down which is shit! if u really want ur karma to be good just do quests and its not always you get money from quests only sometimes.
