  • Nice tractor how fast dose it go

  • @ezmonkey1 45 50ish

  • you might be a redneck.......

  • you can get some strong racing belts on ebay

  • @SkidmoreRacing Im not sure on Ebay However i went to napa and they have some industrial

v belts that range in what ever demesion and size you can give them. Its about as thick as my thumb.

  • thats not wheelbase bro, but the wheel track.....

  • how did you find the belt length?

  • i have craftsman 12hp... how did you get the pulley off from the gearbox? and how did you remove the pulley under the engine?

  • nice vid

  • lol @ the washers

  • lucky for me that same transmission you swapped in is already in my craftsman!! XD

  • so you shift by reaching down below the seat every time

  • Name of song

  • The time has come for Free energy to be revealed ,But the Oil coporations life depends on covering this up,Find this technology at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Free yourself!

  • ive got a 11hp briggs flatt head and what gear ratio should i do i wanna go fast so

  • where did you get your pulleys from

  • i love the add for lawnmower accident lawyers that poped up when i watched lmao

  • Hey good job modding ur mower i have a Scotts by John Deere that had a hydro im working on putting some gay shift on the go trans on it i know the shift on the go wont last long but it will work until i can get a real manual trans. my friend bought an old sears tractor 2 days ago and he already has it going 30MPH he used a 6in front pully and a 3in trans pully he did it fast 1 day and im still workin on my scotts but its harder to add a shift on the go because of the linkage and stuff but sweet

  • @Penguinboy1995 How many hp is it? Thanks

  • @Conman395 my friends is a old briggs 11HP flat head works great. and my scotts kohler engine blew up so now it has a 18.5 briggs opposed flathead

  • @Penguinboy1995 Yeah the one i'm building now is a 10 Hp. I assume flatheads are the ones the are the shape of a key hole or whatever? The older ones? Well hopefully I will be getting my engine pulley today and a new air filter sponge. I will try to post some videos when I get it running. I have only started the engine once since it was given to me so as far as I know it runs great, although I have cleaned the carb since then. Wish me luck!!! :) Any Ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated

  • @Conman395 nice bra, that sounds like a great start those flat heads really get going when you wind them up. ah suggestions-have brakes look into after market steering and tires. gotta have a exhaust or else you might as well grow a vagina.lol just do what you want and dont listen to the haters on youtube. good luck

  • @paulbreor Thank you and since I posted that

I started it a few more times and the place

I went to didn't have the right pulleys so I just got the filter.

Today I just got home from getting my pulley from tractor supply.

I got a 6in. pulley but they were out of the 1 in Hubs so they said they should have them in by tomorrow. Thank you:)

  • WHAIR DID YOU GET THE PULLEY FROM?

  • i have a 6 speed peerless on a go kart using the same chain and sprocket not finished with it yet

  • @86CamaroLover TRACTOR SUPP

  • @paulbreor wats the name of the songs

  • hey iwas wondering if u could give some tips on getin the pully of the tranny cause mine seems really hard to get of i heard there is a tool to get it of but i also heard u can just bang it of but i dont want to brake anything in the tranny.

  • @xjohn79x Yea mine was so hard that i just cut if off using sawzail

  • where di you get the pulley for the trans?

  • @chevy327bigblock TRACTOR SUPP

  • hahaha i used an 11 inch front pulley and a 4 inch rear. its geared a little high but on a slight downhill it can reach 62.4 mph. if i modded the motor i am pretty sure the gearing would go at least 80 mph if my transmission could hold up.

  • does the size of the motor matter for the size of a pully

  • any bod know where i could find a 3 inch pully with a 1 inch shaft and is not keyed?

  • i just put a 6in on the engine and a 3 1/2 in. on the trans on my craftsman lol

  • wanted dead or alive

  • haha

  • what's the name of the first song ?

  • Where did you find your 6" pulley for the engine shaft? I looked for one on ebay for a 1" shaft and couldnt find one. How do you keep the large 6" pulley from sliding up and down on the shaft? Also, what kind of grease/oil did you put in the transmission?

  • I bought it at tractor supply.

The Engine pulley remains seated to the shaft by a threaded screw in the hub, a couple actually..about Two?

One also keeps the key secure..

  • well you could dothe same with a 7 on the motor and a 4 on the trans your belt wont slip as much either

  • The bigger the Engine pulley the closer it becomes to the idle pulleys and pulley clutch itself.

  • Dude this is awesome. I am doing this myself and was wondering if you could give me some detail on exactly how to remove the pulleys and add new ones in.

  • you can use a pulley remove or you can try to pop it off...but they get stuck on there pretty good...i ended up cuttin one off

  • Where did you get the pulleys?

  • tractor sup

  • what kind of peerless is that? is it a true manual with seperate brake and clutch or the regular brake/clutch kind?

  • all u need to do with that is disconect the brake spring and put a seperate pedal on there and run the brake.

  • yea thats the exact same thing i have but the pads wore out in like 15 stops

  • lol im using dual hydro disk brakes in the ass end i also lowered my racin mower the front is at a inch with 16x6.5-6 i wana get 12s for the front and if i did that i would need to raise the front and i also wana use 18s or 16s for the ass end which is bout 2.5 inches

  • i have zero brakes on my tractor so i can press clutch in slightly shift to another gear and do that over and over doesn't grind or nothing its amazing

  • do you know what tractor the transmission came off or what the part/serial number is on it or what trannies would fit?

  • i think it came off a yard machines,,,its a tecumseh

    or foot

veryy strong.they are all pretty much universal mounting

  • What kind of trans should I use?

  • the newest one you can get

and at least 5 speed for varriation

  • umm where did you get the pullys?

  • Sorry for all the questions but I have to get my mower back together soon, which is the other question. I'm using a 3" pulley on the trans. and a 4 or 5" on the front. Do you think that in 1st gear it will be too fast to mow?

  • naw

it most likely would be normal

  • What's the best way to figure out the new belt length after the mods. I don't want to have to buy multiple belts if not necessary.

  • Cut the old belt. Route it around the new pulley setup and clamp the ends with vicegrips and take it out. Measure the outside of the belt. Round up to the nearest inch. If that's not dead on it will be within one size. I use the kevlar belts from Tractor Supply.

  • Hey Paul, I have a newer craftsmans with the shifter in the middle so the belt runs on either side of the shifter rod so with the smaller pulley when you move it from 6 to rev. the belt will rub on the shifter rod. Any ideas?

  • the only straight forward fix

would be to customize a new shifter linkage.

  • hi i have a craftsman from the early 90s with a 12.5 hp briggs gold engine and i just got it running but i have a problem because the pulley on the engine has the key on it and the shaft from the engine has the key way i have never seen this. any suggestions on were to look. i was thinking getting a 5.5 on the front and a 3 on the back but i could weld a key in the key way on the pulley that sticks out to fit in the keyway on the engine.

  • yea man

    just do whatever work....

    pulleys are pretty damn basic...

    your measurements sound good but

shoot for the stars if you can becuase everyone always slaps pulleys on them,,,and has to further increase sizes.

your welding method sounds good as long as it all holds togther bro.....

    SHOOT FOR THE STARZ!!!!!

  • nice job bro

i watched your slide show and

    the open road test.

you have done a execellent job!!!

    keep up the good work!!!!!!!

  • How do u measure the size of pulleys? I'v got various pulleys for my mower but don't know what size they are. Sorry if I sound like an idiot, lol.

    Many Thanks

  • haha

    dont worrie bro..

    pulleys are measured in diamter

the length fron outside threw the center to the other outter side.

  • hey where can i get the rite pullys

  • online

    tractor supply

    local hardware stores

    industrail stores....

    google them.....lol

  • fuckin awsome and get the heavy duty belts there are green

  • i do have a heavy duty belt

i was pulling me and a trailer with three dudes in it a total of four 150LB boys

hauling ass on road and off road up

    hills

the kohler command was being pushed to the limit.

  • i do have a 2in pulley on the trans but its not off the motor because the motor has a 1in diamater shaft and will not fit the trans.

    Yea i have a 5 speed.

    Mines rock solid.

  • bad music

  • bad as in bad to the bone or bad like rotten food.lol

    To be honest

i hate every song i used in this video.

Guess i had bad music at the time....

  • :| this is a great song. Take that back (: what sorta stuff you listening to now?

lol, bad like rotten food, that made me chuckle.

  • I didnt weld them.

    They are Removable.

They have a key whole like a go kart clutch.

  • so i should put a small pully in the frount and big in the back?

  • No totally opposite

    that would make it slow

  • im fixin to build one....

i have a murray 12.5 horse with a 6 speed on the fly im goin to change out for a 3 speed h pattern....do you have any tips for pulley sizes on motor and rear end?

  • yea

if your like me and dont go to races with it build it to go as fast as it can go.

    GET BRAKES!

  • ok lol.

how about pulley sizes if you put them to small wont they just eat belts

  • true but my trans has a 2inch and and its pretty small

but it dosent eat belts because the v shaped design creates alot of surface contact on the belt.

And my motor has a 6 1/2 inch pulley

  • Why didn't you just get a craftsman with a peerless transaxle in it already? My DGS3000 has a peerless 6 speed. The hystats are peerless too, very strong. Since you are actually racing i think you shoulda kept the hystat, but thats me. What are you doin with the old tranny?

  • I got a good deal on a great tractor with a great motor just it had a hydro and it was well worth every penny.

the old hydrostatic is just sitting around.

  • hi

wath for gasoline do u use ?euro 95 or euro 98 with some extra oil in the gasoline ?? ( my engels is not good i hope that you understand me .

    gr john

  • I use 98

  • o okey tanks !!

  • no big

  • where you located? wanna sell the hydro? I got three craftsmans 2 with the peerless hydros and i wouldn't mind a spare for the right price. Good job on your build tho, you can't tell you did a swap with out a close look

  • Gainsville GA

  • check out my custome golf cart on my channel we lift them for 1000$ garentied not to break i did it all custome by the way im only 14

  • alright

  • when you upgraded your tie rods was your steering any better?

  • i would haul butt up and down trails and threw mud all the time and the stock tie rod just couldnt handle the stress and bent in after hitting objects.....Steering is better mainly stornger

  • that is awsome how much were the pullies

  • 80$ and up

  • did u do motor mods too or just the pullies

  • just pulleys

    The motor runs good

    and has excellent torque

    and good rpms./

  • cool i got the same mower and im looking for some easy mods

  • Oh hell yea.....Its a great motor..

Hey if you ever do anything cool with it

film a quick video of it and share with youtube...

  • no problem ill do it "but i got one thing with my mower" it doesent have a manual tranny" do u know any other hop ups i gould do to it other than pullies

  • haha

yea before i hoped mine up i had to put a manual one in....Yea

Remove the little plastic part on the finder that guide the shifter back in forth....and that lets the linkage move more.

Then behind the right wheel there is adjustment for the linkage on the shifter and you can adjust it where it pushes forward harder than reverse....so it looses speed in reverse and gains it in forward motion....Sound complicated but try them both.

  • do u think it will work with the non manual tranny

  • yeah i figured. i just started puting together one of these. its a cube one tho. haha. it didnt have a rear pully or belt when i got it

and the engine was just sitting there. but it runs ok. its not a ywhere near done, but shou;d be fun. how fast does urs go?

  • Thats great

you should film it or and put it on youtube if you haven't.

Mine goes about 45-50ish when i pull on the gov....but i dont like going that fast because i am going to get killed or flip over with a shitty front end that needs alignment ..lol

  • lol holy fuck. my parents dont know i have it so evidence i do is bad.

plus mine doesnt have brakes right now.

i might post a vid saying it someone elses

  • how old are you?

Why wouldnt they want you to buld it...It takes effiort time and knowledge.

Its not like your doing Drugs....

I would tell me parents to kiss my ass

  • 16, and its mostly my mom that is the problem. and they have the excuse we dont have room for more shit, which isnt true. but w.e i have a firend who does this, so i keep it at his house and work on it there. im only gonna have maybe 100 into it including buying it.

  • haha

Yea i bough mine for 120 then like 80 on upgrading pulleys ....

Tell your parents what you told me.

  • time to buy a thicker more high quality belt. lol

  • already have

  • u got urself a strong racing lawnmower setup there that should last a long time as long the transmission holds up i already went through 2 but that what happens when u beat the shit out of it

  • haha i know I give it hell somtimes

but it just as strong as the day i got it.

  • yea but they can only go so fast.......there's pretty much nothing you can do to mod them to go faster..

  • I have a similar setup on my mowers, just bigger pulley in the front. For the belts i use a 5L belt from my work, or a 5/8" belt. Also huge addition is find kevlar belts, they grab much better!

  • Yea Bro

I moved up to the 5L

Belts recently and there is a BIG difference in clutch take off...It fits in the V groove really good.

  • what size belt do u have on your tractor cause i cant find one and this video is alsome i love it

  • Try Napa....They will have the belt for your Tractor or for your vacuum or blender....They GOT iT.

    haha

  • cool i didnt even think of napa. now i just have to find my new size belt and put some springs on the cluch.

  • yea i am getting mine there to,o and is there like a really strong belt i can get that will not snap as easy.

iv finished everything else im just waiting on belts and pulleys. i cant wait to finish the whole thing

  • After runing around town to find belts

Napa Has the best deals you can buy a belt thats is plenty beefy and has a liftime warnty....it breaks you bring it in with or without the recipe or package the product came in and they still will replace it...Get the biggest belt you can get to safley go around your setup....

  • better than napa is a lawnmower shop or tractor supply. They will stock the green or blue belts made from Kevlar. Much stronger and grab better as well.

  • hey man i was just wondering where you got your pulleys from and wat kind i should get.

  • I got mine at tractor suppliey

get the most exspensive ones you can buy cause they will take a beating.

  • great work man.

but i was wondering how you changed the motor pulley that had the blade pulley on it to just a single pulley

  • The stock pulley comes off as one part.

and then the you can just slide a aftermarket pulley on it.

  • thanks alote. i think i am going to put a 7in pully on the front and a 2in on the back.

  • Go for it man....Need any question just ask bro.

  • where did you get the pulley for the trans and how did u get it to stay on?

  • It stays on with a key whole..and a little treaded screw in the hub.

  • i hate to be a pain lol. but what is the pully. is it like an electric moter one? and is the one on the trans held on by a snacp ring. its been apart in the shed for a year and i can't remember.

  • haha

    its not problem...!!

It might be a eletric motor pulley...pretty sure...I bought the biggest pulley tractor co. had with a 1 inch hub.

The trans is held on the same way as the crank pulley, with a key way and a little [yoke] screw in the hub...Orginally it did have a retaining clip....Dont Be affraid to ask Question thats what im here for>>>>lol

  • u should have left the shifter on the side i think its alot better......and you know you did a good job at making it fast when u brake belts lol

  • haha Thanks man

yea....I wanted to set it up that way

but it is more relieable the way i have it.....casue the side shifter use to hook up to a wacky hydrostatic and it was not anywhere compatiable with a manual set up.

  • nice work bro. I'll use a peerless if i fry the tranny my hi speed mower has on it. I have a peerless in one of my other machines and it's bullet proof.

Thanks for puttin up the videos you made dude

  • No big

  • looks like the transmission is off of a john deere stx30...5 speed?

  • it might be

    but my bro

that i bought it from i think he said it was a yard machine.

even with a 6"crank pully and a 2" trans pully frist gear is still slow and torqy

  • What's the song?

  • the frist one is {whos going home with you tonight] by trapt

  • Cool vid.looks like a lot of work. But fun to make

  • Tractor supply

Each pulley was like 18$ bucks then i got the belt at autozone..

so upgrading the pulley sys was like almost 70 dollars.

    front pulley 18.00

    rear pulley 18.00

    autozone belt 27.00

    --Total---72.00

    ...not too bad

  • mfgsupply has cheaper parts!!

  • theres none of those around where i live

  • Cool

  • Thanks Bro!

  • I have already Built 6 Racers and 3 of which are mine. Last year I took 5th in points, and this year I took 4th, so i guess that I'm doing something right. I am working on #7 for a friend, I don't know if you weld up your frame or not, but it will help with the stability of the frame when going around the corners. I myself run Outlaw class with USLMRA in the Iowa Chapter and took 2nd place in Carson Iowa this year, running against some FX racers which are fast racers anyway.

  • thats pretty awesome bro.

Yea right now it has that tractor front end type and i will go around a turn at 30 and the back wheel lifts up.

  • One more thing- the reinforced steering is good ( thats all y need is having it break over 20 + mph).

-Id suggest an eventual upgrade to direct steering - no slop- no gears to break.

I mentioned that why mines going under the knife- chop the ride hieght, change the steering/drivetrain.

Things way to wobbly to control at high speeds- im afraid of putting mine over 4th- thats way too fast( id hate to see how fast 6th is now).

Just check it over everytime after using- for breakage/ect.

  • haha

Thanx for all the addvice bro....

Yeah I am going crazy for some front wheels with bearings.lol

The stock polythan Bushing in theme cant last longer.

GOD i know i need a foot pedal...It sounds gay always having the throttle position in one spot at a time.

And i think that i have already bent one of the back rims a lil.

Well Soon i will have a vid of it taking off and what not.

    I need AFTERMARKET PARTS....OEM...NO GOOD.

  • Go kart parts are the way to go actually.

I retro fitted a old dynamarks brake pedal assy for a foot pedal( not hooked up yet)- all i had to do was drill one hole- basically a bolt on affair.

I got 4 golf kart rims/tires for $40 for all four at a flea market- the bering assemblies i bot new from northern tools.

At another flea market i saw some brand new golf kart rims/tires for $50 each.

  • badd ass.

I never would have thought to use golf kart rims.

  • Theyre sorta universal- they have the same bolt pattern as ATV wheels ( i used ATV hubs).

The murray will probably be the only one ill use golf kart rims on ( unless i can get another set somewhere)- the others will most likely be either stock rims or go kart wheels.

  • thats sweet

My front rim hubs are just bushings.

and the back tires have a key whole.

I think tractor supply would have more.

  • Sometimes they do- i bot most my stuff thru northern tools- i want to get another couple axles (1").

I found they make 3/4" axles ( to make a transmission posi) - but they dont have keyways- id either have to drill the wheels/axle to mount the wheels.

  • ohh thats cool

you wouldnt have to worry about breaking

    weldeds inside the diff.

Somone needs to open a transaxle shop////And sell OEM[stock]

    Torqued up models for hauling.

Then Light but strong fast models..[locked]

have all the pulleys you need and all..

    THAT WOULD be THE SHIT''

  • Well at lawntractor racing sites they have those custom pieces as well- the only problem is if you arent actually going to modify the tractor to physically race it on tracks- they disaprove. People that modify tractors and dont race them are called 'backyard bashers' in thier eyes and they dont approve of that ( i got kicked out of the 'heymow' forum for saying that i wasnt racing mine)- i do however go there and get ideas from time to time.

  • yea true true

Thats some bull shit on getting kicked out

  • Thats pretty slick how y came up with the shifter setup- almost looks stock. The bad thing with the throttle on the dash is you have to hold the throttle with one hand- the wheel with the other - i made a foot pedal - the original steering wheel throttle was too hard to use and steer.

One suggestion: the front wheels- put a set of wheels on that have roller berings/some sort of berings- running around that fast will eat those rims up- plus with berings it rools smoother/faster .

  • when can wee see it go man.

i wanna see how fast it goes throw the gears.

  • SOON

I Cant wait to share it with you guys

  • they are pretty close lawn mower's.. but atleast your's runs.. i fucked mine up changeing the throttle linkage.. i will make a vid of it tomorrow to see if i can get some help on how to fix my problem.. my next project is a Ariens Classic mower

  • Bad ass Man.....Im scard that mines gonna fuck up sooner or later

cuase i am modding everything and the reliablity goes down and down.

  • they are pretty close lawn mower's.. but atleast your's runs.. i fucked mine up changeing the throttle linkage.. i will make a vid of it tomorrow to see if i can get some help on how to fix my problem.. my next project is a Ariens Classic mower
