Its just her stage name, showing pride for the place she came from. Her real name is Marcella Levy.

I saw her sing this at (of all places) a parochial school carnival in Alhambra, Calif. and of course bought the CD. I'm glad somebody recorded it on video. I first learned about Ms. Levy at the Elvis Birthday Bash in Hollywood back in 2004. Awesome!

Marcy has one of the most distinctive voices in rock. I saw her and Shawn Murphy (another great female background vocalist) sing back up for Eric during his 1985 world tour in California. They played the then-Concord Pavillion. Awesome show.
