I just got like 3 comments in 1 day on my radical dreamers piano vid (after none for 2 weeks) I was like "wtf?" but then I saw I was a related vid to yours haha
@dara9837 hard to say...while I arrange music I am constantly playing it, trying to figure out how to make it work. My style of arranging derives from my ability as a guitarist, as I play everything I arrange; that's how I come up with it. It's a reason I can't come up with anything as difficult as something from say Don Ross...because I don't have the ability to play it and because I am looking for ways of arranging music that, while tricky, are not unattainable for the vast majority.
@dara9837 So, that being said...it took as long as it took to arrange the piece and run through it a few times as, like I said, each individual section were pieces I worked out that I could play that were later constituted into a whole. It takes much less time to learn because for one, I am learning while I am arranging, and two, I am arranging what I am able to play. Both work to my advantage. But learning music by other people? I am pretty slow.
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Chrono Cross. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
My favourite rendition of this song on youtube. I started teaching myself a guitar 6 months ago, just so one day I would be able to play this song just like you. Can only do the main theme or the background theme at a time, with a few errors, and an aching wrist...:(
I love how often you've replied to people's comments. You're awesome kabukibear I love your videos and have gone through your tabs (got this one, ff9 battle theme, and my favorite star light zone memorized) keep up the good work man.
@LoganOKAN just do it slow OVER and OVER again. i went through the same thing when learning bass with anesthesia (metallica) and maxwell murder (rancid). not even close to the same style but had to do the same thing to learn the song; play it at like 1/2 tempo over and over til it just clicked... idk hard to explain. was a long time ago haha
@TheLastZiggen I recently started trying it again, after learning some of Lonlonjp's easier songs with that method, and now I'm able to do the intro perfectly fine. I just can't get the singing part in there. :/
I went from electrical to an acoustic because of you. Countimg this will be the 4th song I learned that you covered. Remiscence being my favorite and my best. Thank you.
you are my hero bro. you play that so well! im a huge fan of CC im glad to see someone else is too. dont forget to keep playing and capture the hearts of those around you.
always want to know how to play such long songs perfectly when the CAMERA is watching :/ I always mess up so damn bad when recording that I'll always toss it aside and try again in about 2 or something xD
any tips ? ;) like imagine the crowd (camera) is naked ? lol
@AvaTheRose Yeah, I have the sheet music sitting on the desk in front of me. I am reading that. A lot of the time, after I arrange a piece of music I will just run through it a few times and then go ahead and record it. I don't spend the time it would take to memorize the piece because that would take a long time per piece and you wouldn't see videos as often. XD
Unlike so many covers on YouTube, this was everything that I could have hoped for and then some. You NAILED it. Thanks so much for bringing this beautful sound here!!
@LoganOKAN when learning a new technique (be it sweeping, finger picking, flamenco -- whatever) just find a song that you like that implements the technique and beat that song to hell and back. by the time youre done youll have the technique down :D. thats how i learned haha.
@LoganOKAN So easily?! Just because it seems to come easily doesn't mean it began that way. I've said before, but when I got my first guitar I played 3-4 hours a day every day. Unless you are born a Mozart, music is one of those things that will only improve based on what you decide to put into it. If you play for an hour a week, you will improve...but just think, if you put in an hour a day, you will improve SEVEN TIMES AS FAST. And what is an hour really? An episode of American Idol? do it!
@Re1Mu2R3 Lol, yes...but not as much when I'm watching something closely, in this case reading the sheet music. You know the feeling of gaming for awhile and when you stop you realize you haven't blinked very much and your eyes hurt...same thing.
Eu acho que vc tem é que trabalhar a sua inveja. Já é difícil fazer so o acompanhamento imagine a voz e o acompanhamento juntos.

granted that chrono trigger is an amazing game in itself but chrono cross is a whole different and equally amazing adventure with a kickass soundtrack to boot
I finally learned this song after a few months, but I still cant play it anywhere near as good as kabuki bear. His dynamics and perfect focus on the right notes to bring out all the melody is amazing. Maybe I can get that down.
@guitarnoobie07 Hahahaha. Sorry, I didn´t mean that. XD I just asked because I have just finished making the Guitar Pro 5 file of kabukibear´s, and as it can be exported as a PDF, it will be more atractive to the fans. I just want to help the good music. =D
@TaihenFlz Yeah, I know my link goes to a txt tab, but if you look near the top it says "download" and it will download a zip file that contains txt, pdf, gp, and midi files. I guess people might get confused when they see the link going to just txt tabs but all my videos link to zip files containing everything. :) Thanks for the hard work!
@TaihenFlz hahaha. I see. Sorry 'bout that. :D. A PDF file will be good, but I think Justin didn't added it to his link, because most of the people in the music/guitar world don't care about music notations etc etc. I want to study music notations and the likes in connection to the guitar, but it's still impossible for me at this time.
I am a really big fan of the game and of this beautiful song. When I saw you playing on the guitar, it was really a moment of serernity and peace. You're really a good guitar player. Thank you very much for sharing it !
I'm interested in playing finger style, would you recommend I grow my fingernails out? I have fat fingers so it does get in the way a bit. I'm sure when I become more experienced, that won't be so much of a problem. What do you think?
@iforgot114 we bought have the same kind of problem, only slighter on my part. Well, I recommend you grow your fingernails out if you are already finished schooling. On the other hand, I can't grow my fingernails freely, because I'm still schooling, but I can still play well. Playing with grown fingernails or not, it's still you who will decide what best suits you. If you're using regular/medium tension strings, it's better to have grown out nails for a brighter tone.
Ive been practicing this song for SO long and very sadly i cant get down the intro from :05 - :07. Ive looked everywhere for tutorials! Can someone please show me the finger placements? i must have watched this video a hundred times and i still cant get it. :(
Barre 2nd fret with your index finger, b-minor chord fingering, play the arpeggio, then
Move your index finger so it's only barring the top 4 strings, open all other fingers except your ring finger on the 4th fret of the D string, and play the arpeggio
I can put up a video if you really want, this arrangement is so amazing I want everyone to be able to play it!
That's how I was trying to play it i guess it's just a little tricky for me to bar those 4 strings. Ill keep at it though and with enough practice anything is possible! Thanks for the help! :)
Actually a video would be amazing if you have time! I have only been playing for a couple months now but im very dedicated to learn and really want to learn this arrangement correctly! Thanks a bunch!
You've always been an ongoing inspiration. Now that you're back, I can direct people your way to youtube when they ask what I'm playing in public. We missed you loads.
So your goal is to get people into classical guitar? Well, you got me quite motivated. Because of you I ended up ordering Shearer's and Pumping Nylon last week! Will start studying as soon as I'm through with exams next week ;)
Agreed that guy is obviously just jealous! You rock dude keep on keeping on. Classical is the best and your style is awesome reminds me of myself wish i could play as well as you maybe one day. Well great video i hope people like Melas or however you spell his name dont discourage you, amazing stuff man.
Your Comment Is Just Ridiculous In Every Possible Way..To Undermine This Beautiful Song And Talent Is Beyond Stupidity..Its Truly Sad..And What You Dont Realize Is That 16 People Besides Yourself Actually Missed The Thumps Up Button..Its Sad Reading A Comment Like Yours And Knowing Someone Actually Thinks This Isnt Spectacular..
Anyways Justin This Is Amazing Bro..I Will Learn This Song And Post A Video When I Do Thanking You For This Arrangement And All Your Hard Work..
If I may ask, right after you play the first ending on the solo portion, do you then proceed to play the second ending before going back to the beginning?
@Fusakiri No, you play the first ending, then go back to the beginning. Play through it again and when you get to the first ending this time, rather than playing, completely skip the first ending, and play the second ending. Then continue on.
@kabukibear oh ok hold on tho right at the start of 47 seconds and ending at the tip end of 49 seconds what was that little jingle its not in the tabs unless im blind lol and I think I gotta be.. sorry to ask but I gotta know
@kabukibear yea lol I was reading it a little off I'm sorry for the odd question. Thank you for clarifying. I can finally play this now, would you mind if I made an attempt on youtube? haha
@Fusakiri When I was first learning this I was a little confused about that myself. It took me a week or two to get it all straight (and I'm still not absolutely sure of this).
Justin (kabukibear) is right, it's measure 13. But I think what may be confusing you is that measure 12 is labeled [1st ending] when really (I believe) that the first ending is measure 13. In turn, measure 14 should be labeled 2nd ending instead of measure 13 (but I could be wrong :/).
@Rixonomic ok, it's fixed. If you are going off the pdf file or gp file it would have read correctly, but when gp imports it all into txt it doesn't include any of the ending markers, so I have to put them in by hand. Looks like I messed that up but it should read correctly now. Thanks :)
Thanks a lot for the awesome tab. Great job KB. Really look forward to your new stuff. Do you think you could give arranging a classical version of Ryu's Theme from Street Fighter II a shot? Hell, any Street Fighter II track would be great. Kabukibears choice. Anyways keep up the phenomenal playing!
Amazing. Do you mind if i make gay homo filled love to your fingers? :) I frigin play electric 7 string for the past 7 years and im ALWAYS wowed at classical guitar songs from the video games i grew up with and introduced me to music.
i saw your tab and it is nice of you to share. I finally found a tab without the chorus included so I can sing it and I noticed you were giving fingering advice to new people. Thanks for being willing to share your talent.
@TeamShanimal Well I try to make it a point to offer as much advice and motivation I can. My goal has always been to get people into the classical/fingerstyle guitar.
how long did it take you to learn this? also your playing something a bit different than the lead, it's like you mixed the rhythm and solo, which is beyond my abilities lol. I'm currently learning this song, starting with the lead and I have to say you have mastered the 'classical' style of guitar rather well. I have the CC guitar sheet music/tab book so I noticed that you were sort of combining both sections into one.
@ChiZ712 That's exactly what I did. I had a copy of the duet version of Radical Dreamers from that book, and I just combined them into a solo version. :)
congratulations =)

CFspades 1 year ago
@CFspades
I play it like this:
Barre 2nd fret with your index finger, b-minor chord fingering, play the arpeggio, then
Move your index finger so it's only barring the top 4 strings, open all other fingers except your ring finger on the 4th fret of the D string, and play the arpeggio
I can put up a video if you really want, this arrangement is so amazing I want everyone to be able to play it!

@psion0011
That's how I was trying to play it i guess it's just a little tricky for me to bar those 4 strings. Ill keep at it though and with enough practice anything is possible! Thanks for the help! :)

@psion0011

@SalemJeanetteful - May I ask, why do you dislike this????
L3ONARDO07 1 year ago
If I may ask, right after you play the first ending on the solo portion, do you then proceed to play the second ending before going back to the beginning?
Fusakiri 1 year ago
@Fusakiri No, you play the first ending, then go back to the beginning. Play through it again and when you get to the first ending this time, rather than playing, completely skip the first ending, and play the second ending. Then continue on.
kabukibear 1 year ago
@kabukibear oh ok hold on tho right at the start of 47 seconds and ending at the tip end of 49 seconds what was that little jingle its not in the tabs unless im blind lol and I think I gotta be.. sorry to ask but I gotta know
Fusakiri 1 year ago
@Fusakiri I don't really know what to tell you, it's measure 13.
kabukibear 1 year ago
@kabukibear yea lol I was reading it a little off I'm sorry for the odd question. Thank you for clarifying. I can finally play this now, would you mind if I made an attempt on youtube? haha
Fusakiri 1 year ago
@Fusakiri Of course you can, I accept all video responses. Definitely give it a go!
kabukibear 1 year ago
@Fusakiri When I was first learning this I was a little confused about that myself. It took me a week or two to get it all straight (and I'm still not absolutely sure of this).
Justin (kabukibear) is right, it's measure 13. But I think what may be confusing you is that measure 12 is labeled [1st ending] when really (I believe) that the first ending is measure 13. In turn, measure 14 should be labeled 2nd ending instead of measure 13 (but I could be wrong :/).
Confusing enough for you? :P
Rixonomic 1 year ago
@Rixonomic haha. I had that problem also. Probably, Justin unconsciously misplaced the indicators. :D
oh and btw, have you already finished learning this arrangement?
guitarnoobie07 1 year ago
@Rixonomic Eek! You're absolutely right! I don't know how I messed that up, I'll change it to help any other confusion. Thanks!
kabukibear 1 year ago
@Rixonomic ok, it's fixed. If you are going off the pdf file or gp file it would have read correctly, but when gp imports it all into txt it doesn't include any of the ending markers, so I have to put them in by hand. Looks like I messed that up but it should read correctly now. Thanks :)
kabukibear 1 year ago
Thanks a lot for the awesome tab. Great job KB. Really look forward to your new stuff. Do you think you could give arranging a classical version of Ryu's Theme from Street Fighter II a shot? Hell, any Street Fighter II track would be great. Kabukibears choice. Anyways keep up the phenomenal playing!

i saw your tab and it is nice of you to share. I finally found a tab without the chorus included so I can sing it and I noticed you were giving fingering advice to new people. Thanks for being willing to share your talent.
TeamShanimal 1 year ago
@TeamShanimal Well I try to make it a point to offer as much advice and motivation I can. My goal has always been to get people into the classical/fingerstyle guitar.

man, what tune do you use? normal?
prefife 1 year ago
@prefife Yep, standard tuning. Tabs are in the video info.
kabukibear 1 year ago
how long did it take you to learn this? also your playing something a bit different than the lead, it's like you mixed the rhythm and solo, which is beyond my abilities lol. I'm currently learning this song, starting with the lead and I have to say you have mastered the 'classical' style of guitar rather well. I have the CC guitar sheet music/tab book so I noticed that you were sort of combining both sections into one.
ChiZ712 1 year ago
@ChiZ712 That's exactly what I did. I had a copy of the duet version of Radical Dreamers from that book, and I just combined them into a solo version. :)
