What an energy!What a show!This is so brilliant.August Darnell is just a genius.The whole concept of 'race music'with the zoot suits,the hot and kitsch dance routines of the Coconuts,Coati Mundi as the funny sidekick and great percussionist is just awesome.I love the theatrical side of their performances.I wish i could've seen them live back in time.Sigh!.

again I saW THESE GUYS IN THE EARLY 80'S THEY WERE..WELL HOT! Live is nothing like video! Where I saw them was a club but built like a concetrt hall here in Miami! There will never be a kid creole and the cocnuts! Oh and bt the way has anybody noticed the resemblance to the Movie The Mask? with Jim Carry??? I belive they got the inspiration for the movie from these guys!

Hi, The film The Mask was based on a character from Dark Horse Comics, and the resemblance between the 'hepcat' that Stanley Ipkiss becomes in the film and The Kid's style is based on the the zoot suited chicano's of the 1940's. I saw The Kid back in the very early 80's as well. Excellent.
