  • I'm saving for a laptop and seeing wat its like to have one of these kind

  • the box is a cow

  • i have that one in blue. and it overheat so fast and it could shut down sometime...

i hate it but you guy right. it pretty good but i hate it when hot so damn fast lol

  • nice lap i got that

  • Mine crashed so many times. I does overheat fast. I was so frustrated I got a MacBook.

  • @potterizeme

Ours has worked non-stop since we got it.

Traveled to four states, on multiple trips and still works great

  • @GearBuyersGuide are you the same guy from gunwebsites?

  • my first laptop was the pwer pc g3 than till now i bought the gateway m-1625 untill i spilled a beer in to it worked fine ... than i got the hp 2133 mini before my nv79 arrived so well gateway is a good company and life style ... cheer`s ... buy HP man ... not this ~~~

  • i have this laptop and its not plastic..

  • i have dis laptop itx awsome ..!!

  • Gateway laptops suck. They overheat really easy and it burns out the power supply. I sent mine back each time for 3weeks at a time. Terrible machine. Screen is nice but the power supply is very sensitive.

  • my laptop and desktop are gateways. Gateway is a good brand

  • i just bought the same one lastnight!! lol it's awesome

  • Anyone know how many speakers there are for this laptop?

if there are 2, then why isnt the other speaker working?

How do i configure speakers for the other to work then?

    Anyone know?

  • I love how you just huck the power cable down onto the table!!!

  • me gotten the red 1 ... dam there is black? should have choose that =D but red still kick ass =Dwith that budget price an i5 processor in mid 2010

  • Why didn't they just have the Numpad in every laptop? they just decided to remove it for no reason.

  • know you can get it for $380

  • how u get more gigs of ram??

  • @Munchupyourwaffles yeah you can get like 4 more for like 50 bucks

  • i have this laptop is awesome

  • Yes it is a deal. That core i5 is pretty nice man =D. I'm sure making videos with that computer is nice. I need something like that, but with more ram, about how much you said, about 8gigs.

laptops would need cleaning about once a year, some people don't to that at all, then their laptop over heats and gets hot, then slow down. D=

  • The "What ever that is" port is a HDMI port its HD video and audio in one.

  • @ xEV1LANG3Lx

Thanks, so is that to plug cameras into the laptop, or something else?

  • No, it goes from the laptop to an external monitor much like the VGA next to it, but it has HD Video and Audio output.

  • @GearBuyersGuide no , put it this way , its like the red white and yellow cables , but for high definition LOL

  • @GearBuyersGuide laptop to TV

  • I don't really like the plastic laptops, seems kinda fragile and cheep

  • @slightlyndifferent

After a few weeks of opening and closing it, I have to agree.. it is flimsy feeling (but still working OK)

  • Why did you go for the i5 instead of the i7 or waiting for the i9 - is it because it was only $500? If your looking for pure editing power a desktop is a far better choice and cheaper than a laptop. You should have 8-16gb of memory in your laptop if you are going 64bit - 4 is MINIMUM and your performance currently will be noticeable but with more memory you will see a massive difference. What version of W7 are you using - check into After Effects, Corel visual studios and sony vegas 4 editing.

  • yes price was the major factor

  • @GearBuyersGuide Cool good luck bro

  • @ IKLIPTIC

I had to look, its Home Premium, I agree on the more RAMs, that will be the next purchase I think

  • @GearBuyersGuide 16GB will be maximum amount depending on the max slot or number - good luck and hope to see more videos out shooting, are you guys gonna do some backpacking videos as well?

  • Cool, hope to hear more about after you get a few hours on it.

  • Hey guys it's Mike again. I got a gateway FX, not a laptop, but the gateway FX is good stuff for the vidya games ;). Love your gear reviews.

  • You're right about the software. Only software written for 64bit instruction, can take advantage of your quadcore. So the actual operating system should be nice and quick bit many programs waste 1/2 of the CPUs potential. Regardless, it's still a great laptop and it should process your videos nice and fast.

  • what video editing software do you use?

  • @ manx5225

I forget the name, but a review is on the way.. I used to like it, but now I want something that can go as fast as this laptop

  • ok cool

  • Hey I have the same one, only it's not a Gateway, it's a Packard Bell Easynote TJ65.

Otherwise it's identical. Like it so far

  • im not a laptop fan, i have one, heh.

  • Slick looking laptop. Around here, we could never get a deal like that. It's around the $750 mark. I think you'll be impressed. Myself, I'm not a huge fan of the 64bit OS. I'm used to way to many 32bit programs that just aren't written in 64bit. (just my personal preference I suppose.) Looking forward to the reviews.

  • @ Road360Rage

I think that may be the problem I'm having.. not everything is faster

perhaps the old software isn't taking full advantage of this laptops potential
