Maybe it's just me, but the way Demi looked away makes me feel that maybe she does has unknown feelings for Joe but brushes it off cause at that time Joe was dating that Camilla girl. I mean, being a girl and all, that moment totally spells AWKWARD cause they're good friends. And i think Joe does adore Demi but doesnt realise that he likes her more than a friend just yet. But that's just my point of view.
