  • absolutly frightening power there. i had the pleasure of getting a tour in the engine room of this monster. 2 of the 4 engines are the same model as used in a boeing 747. standing at the back like this gave me goosebumps. the video simply does not do the scale of the stena hss justice. thats what 100 thousand horsepower looks like at full tilt.

  • @allistairc123 What, there are two Rolls Royce RB211 turbine engines powering this boat?

  • @TheNitronaught not sure model, but it has 4 in total, its on wikipedia

  • @allistairc123 Ah rite, i thought you said "two of the four engines." I'm not saying youre wrong, just wondered how they would get enough air in to them, and with there being four of them as you say...?

  • thats the fairy right

  • I had a sandwich once. it had bread, meat, cheese...really everything a good sandwich needs. I chewed the first bite maybe 8-9 times...it was a really good roll. The mayo and mustard were in just the right proportion and complemented the roll perfectly. (cont)

  • I have a good dog

  • sorry but this ship are made in Rauma, Finland. Idiots!

  • wouldnt it be better if the water was jetted under the boat

  • It was built in Perth australia by a company called austral ships, I saw them doing the sea trials on it. Not sure how that is British sea power when built in australia by australians.

  • @crazybails1 No it wasnt, it was built in Finland, these are the biggest high speed ferrys in operation, and are bigger than anything Austal have built, they are the Stena HSS 1500 class of high speed ferries.

  • you guys should just be happy that it works and adds value to every society in the world

  • In all fairness it's not about where they are built, it's about who invented them... a guy from New Zealand who was not native but from British descent invented the technology.

We invent, and get other people to build ;)

  • Yeah; Brits like to take credit for others' work.

  • "British sea power" but those ferries are made in Finland!

  • yh you are right!

  • Kamewa waterjets (propulsion arms) are manufactured by Rolls-Royce! old days it was a stand alone swedish company_

  • :D:D:D

    best

  • @keijo303 Tasmania actually. ;) That ferry is an Incat, which are built in Hobart.

But still, no they're not british sea power :P

  • How much gas? Near enough 20,000 Litres/Hour at 40 knots (46mph / 74kmph). Yep, about 110 Gallons per Mile! Makes sense why they can't afford to run them at that speed very much...

  • only 110 gallons per mile?

my fire engine pumps 1250 gallons per minute

  • 110 gallons of fuel ,not water , genious

  • haha....o i c

    now u can c y im a firefighter

  • Your fire engine is paid with taxed dollars....

  • and it costs alot less

  • and actually its not...its paid by donations

  • @rcedwardsen not ours

  • @FireFighterrock24 that tiny, my boat throws out 380L per second

  • i wonder how much gas?

  • wow thats fast for a large boat!

  • big engines

  • oh no i have seen this already on your tiny phone lol. x
