you don't have his life i do you bastard he is still living i have his spirit with me and he will let god deal with you BASTARD rsb97060 you said he bus was a poor excuses for a giilig well you are crap god will deal with you you had better repent but it might be to late for you i hate you and TriMet you will all suffer greatly god will see to it because you all killed you killed a life you killer STOP TALKING badly about this bus when i say he i am talking about the bus he hates you
i hate you so much you who put this video up rsb97060 and everyone who did and take part in this i cried all day and all night because of you you STUPID BITCH you and trimet i hate you you all just killed a life an innocent life YOU BASTARDS god will be punishing all of you who where there and those of you here on youtube who liked this how can you like this??? how can anyone take pleasure in killing a innocent life
i hate you i hate you i hope you suffer 1,000 times harder than me you killers
im not happy with this vid! you should have taken a new bus and exploded it instead of this wonderful old bus which is better than the new buses they got today
Having driven that very bus, and others just like it, I wish I was the one pushing the plunger to detonate it. These Gilligs were cheap, stripped down crap. The Phantoms that were purchased in 1998 are much better.
Well I'm with you on that, I also like the Series 50 Gillig Phantoms much better. I wish that Gillig Corporation was still make the Phantom models, but now they make only Low Floor models. RIP Phantoms!!!
Yeah, I wish that the Palm Tran Bus System down in West Palm Beach, FL didn't have so many of them. That system is predominately Gillig LFS, when they could have ordered other buses instead
@8v71buses If it's a GMC New Look, I would agree. I got to drive those early in my career and loved them. Compared to today's standards they were pretty basic, but they were SOLID and HAULED ASS!
@8v71buses Normally I would agree with you. But these were low bid specials. TriMet had 65 of those at one time and when I was a bus operator I drove all 65 of them. They were not good buses. However, the Phantoms that they purchased in 1997 are pretty nice.
#1401 and #1407 were already gone a few years ago due to fire damage. I rode #1401 once in 1999 on route 70. TriMet still has all 43 of the 30' Gilligs (#1601-1630 from 1990 and #1631-1643 from '91) at present.
That was a waste of a great bus! It probably has the 6V92TA engine before it retired. Now it's dead and will be sent to the scrapyard for a funeral...
Well, OK. I don't like Cummins engines that much, but I'll be very devastated if any of these buses that has the 6V92TA, 6V71, 8V92TA, or 8V71 engine put their own lives at risk of killing themselves in a terrorist drill, that's all...
@baul104 As far as I know, the engines, trannys, etc were removed. They had to tow it to the quarry and then tow it to where they did the actual drill.
Great bus? Gillig has made some good coaches, but this order truly was low bid. Stripped down except for the wheelchair lift and electronic overheads (which are standard now.) The lifts, made by Lift-U are all wearing out now.
Stupid people.

Hey, I actually rode on this particular bus ID # (1416) in 2000 on route 70.
ClassicTVFan82 4 years ago
Now if we could just get rid of the rest of them.

Those poor 1600's are getting awful tired. But all indications are that we will keep them until they fall apart completely.
rsb97060 4 years ago
It is very sure the remaining 1400s (and the 1600 series up to 1630) will be gone by 2010. 1631-1643 will follow in 2011.
ClassicTVFan82 4 years ago
Well seems like that 1600 really fell apart real good! POOF! I hate it when that happens!
k6tpl 4 years ago
Actually, it was a 1400 and I hope they let me push the detonator plunger on the next one! These are poor excuses for the Gillig Phantom series.

Which transit agency are you referring to? All of TriMet's used Cummins diesels.

I'm not talking about Trimet. But there are Gillig Phantoms out there with 6V92TA's in them.
