  • 40 people don't have common sense, while 25 of them do. Ridiculous activities like these raise up the cost of health insurance and that is why there are more decent Americans without it.

  • Ban boxing :')

  • ...Also boxing tends to be highly addictive.

  • I can see your point of view, although I would saying calling for an outright ban is probably a bit excessive. The sport can be (and should be) made much safer than it currently is. I don't mind people getting knocked down, but as much as I like boxing, I always feel uneasy when I see a fellow human KO'd - glazed expression, dripping blood etc. Banning the sport outright however, will have the opposite effect - as it will drive it underground and that will most certainly, be a bad thing.

  • I love all these meatheads thinking it's their choice. Very few millionaires take up MMA. Also after getting beaten in the head so much their decision making skills are seriously impaired. But that's ok DIE for my entertainment!! hahahaahah!

  • This is a proof that no Nation has the guts nor there is any country that took a lead to prove itself as a humane ”CIVILIZED” Nation, and neither do they are intending to, or are interested in, or care less, for that matter. Isn’t it true?

This is a proof that their is a lack of sane people to take a firm stand nationally and universally to ban this sport of insanity; in most of the nations.

  • I honestly think 12 rounds is still too much. Title fights should be at least 10 rounds, maybe 8. But boxing shouldn't be banned. The boxer's WANT to do it, they know the risks but they don't care. Same thing with people joining the military. They know they can die, but they do it because they WANT to.

I do see your point though, boxing is a brutal sport. And yes, I'm a huge boxing fan.

  • Pugilist dementia can manifest itself in ways other than not being able to dress yourself or peeing your pants in public. Many remain physically unimpaired but can go into a murderous rage. It has turned people into homicidal maniacs. They've been know to beat wives, children, parents, strangers to death without provocation. Many end up in chemical restraint in lock down psychiatric facilities. Or prison!

  • Poor boxers, must be protected from themselves.

  • with head gear is ok..but without..that can kill you..boxing is crazy man...pound each other in the head like that for 12 rounds? mma is difrent you have wrestling bjj submisions..and got no deaths...

  • ....As well as knowing that at the relatively young age 50-odd, Jerry Quarry could no longer dress himself.

Lets not deny facts, people: This is a barbaric, ruthless, bloody sport (mma, muay thai, ect ect included). Respect the athletes, this is a tough way to make a living.

  • They keep such accurate punch stats, Mohammad Ali was punched in the head over 27,000 times! Pugilist dementia is a reality. These mixed combat fights, you see very young men, their ears are balloons! When gloves changed, prize fighters stopped receiving injuries like those. I think we're going to see closed head injuries go through the roof!

  • Thanks for this vid. I myself am a HUGE boxing fan, but you'd have to be delusional or just plain ignorant to ignore the incredible toll this sport takes from it's participants.

Its depressing to witness the cases of individuals like Gerald McClellan, who has been permanently blind and wheelchair-stricken for nearly 15 years due to injuries suffered in the ring.

  • DannyNFLD, you are welcome!

  • Boxing should be banned because it is morally wrong to beat people up. All people should be pacifists.

  • @ZAGGLETON Just because they fight does not mean they are violent, i can show you martial artists who can literally kill 5 people with their bare hands and when they get to a mugging for example they dont do anything even if they can.Because the other guy may be desperate....

  • yes boxing can be brutal but so can every other sport, for example mountain skiers put themselves in danger with no real necessity, but what people fail to remember is that boxing can be an out for those who would leave more ciminal based lives and it can also be a strenght for someone who cant do or doesnt want to do other options for a career

  • the people choose to fight u hippie.. they arent roman gladiators forced to fight... people have every right to choose what they want to do to there body.

  • I watched this video and was in doubt that I would see any comments from anyone who has a brain and loves freedom, but I was wrong.

LISTEN people if you ban boxing its going to get even more nasty, just like alcohol prohibition did. When you ask GOVERNMENT to prohibit something you are asking them to point guns at people. Yeah...thats the way to protect people, point guns at them. Please!

  • Part 3. It is accepted that boxing involves risk , and that damage inflicted is deliberate. There are many things a person chooses to do that risk their health. Smoking, eating fatty foods, drinking alcahol all are dangerous- and can be fatal in the long term leading to cancers, heart disease etc. We live in a society where an individual has the right to risk their own health, and is not consider immoral for doing so. Boxers make a CHOICE, and take the risk. It is not our place to judge them.

  • I agree completely with everything you've said and the same apllies for all combat sports such as MMA and Muay Thai. We choose to fight no one has forced me to fight. I do it because I love Muay Thai and the challenge of one man versus another. I keep myself fit and healthy and I'm at lower risk of cancer, diabetes etc. than 99% of the population. It is a way of life for me and I'm extremely proud of it. Don't tell me it's barbaric. At my first fight my opponent came up to me. cont. in next com

  • This is reply part 2.

It is a given that all sports involve some level of physical risk. From cuts and cruises to breakages and brain damage and death, it is possible to pick up injuries in sport.

BUT they argue that in boxing such injuries are deliberate. To consider this:

Boxers are trained to avoid being hit, and are obliged to defnd themselves at all times. Of course this does not always happen- and indeed being hit is that nature of the sport.

    (see part 3)

  • There are lots of sports at which the individual is at risk of injury or even death. Take as a comparisson horse riding. Jumping over a 5 foot high fence on a horse is risky, and jockeys and riders have died from falls.

Driving a car or motorcycle at very high speeds in a race is risky, and people have died from crashes.

I know many people who have had physical injuries from skiing, for example. Do people call for a ban on that?

Reply part two will consider the moral issue.

  • They should also ban fighting in hockey games.

  • hmmm... you do have a good point rosaryfilms.

What about Martial arts such as Karate or Judo or Tae Kwon Do?

  • Guardianoftheunborn, the martial arts for self defense is acceptable, but not when it is used as a blood sport.

  • You're on target with this one. Great vid.

  • candlace, thank you very much!

  • How about boxing for self defence? In order to adequately train for self defence one has to experience a fight, experience getting hit, getting knocked down etc. That acceptable?

  • shedtic, in teaching self-defense, martial-artist "pull" their punches, that is, they do not land punches full force (at least they are not suppose to...). The same could be done to teach boxing as self-defense.

  • u don't understand about training for self-defense. no offense, but it's self evident by your post.

i've debated about boxing myself & i love the sport. the #1 problem in my opinion are bad refs. & trainers

    God bless
