I liked all the previous episodes. This one... not so much. The harmonies sound canned. I didn't like the doubling or pitchy thing and I really hated the part added with the keyboard. It was all fake sounding and a little over the top. I realize it's a demo of what the Helicon does, but I'd imagine Lara could sing those parts better.

It would have been nice to see how this was routed out of the DAW into the VL2 and then how it was routed back to record the effects.

( what i can do is recording with analog output from voicelive 2 to the konnekt 6 and get midi signal form cubase via usb to voicelive 2, but i would like to record first the voice dry and then apply some effect and armonies from vl2)

hi joey please i really need to know the connection for the pc, i tried to make the same of you in the video with the voicelive 2, desktop konnekt 6 and cubase 5 , but it was really a catastrofe.... can you please tell me how did you connect, or actually make a video o write some tutorial for this??

There's definitely a sour in the harmony one the first "rain" in the chorus and on the second one, too. It sounds way flat and sounds really bad. The chorus sounds so good as is and once that's fixed it will sound very nice. Listen closely at 0:44 when the harmony comes in and it sounds like howling almost panned hard right.

Maybe you fix it down the road in a later episode but it definitely needs fixing. The song sounds great so far!!

I own the Voice Live 2 and It is an amazing piece of equipment. I've spent thousands of Euro on recording gear over the years and the Voice Live 2 is by far the best.

I have a couple of questions

1. How does Tom have the Voice live hooked up to his laptop in the way he is able to play the track and turn on the effects as he wishes? Is that just the USBconnection or is the there an additional step?

2. What is the name of the editing softwear Tom is using on his laptop for this song?

Can tc helicon make just a very general video on how to live record with Voicelive 2. I am so lost and need just an idea to get me going in a direction to find the right recording software to buy and connections. Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

I would like to use VL2 guided by Ableton LIVE automating sound switching, together with other guys in my band... the idea is to sync to the other and use the amazing sound quality of VL2 in a automated mode. Is it possible?

Hiya,

In this video, Tom is using the VoiceLive 2 as the audio interface and also as the external effects unit via USB. What he is doing here is actually a new feature of the 1.1.00 software update we just released (which you can download via the Voice Support application).

Also, how many vocal harmonies can you play with a midi keyboard? In the beginning it is said that there are four voices then eight. Will I be able to play 8 different voices through my midi keyboard at the same time (like a big choral? :P).

Hiya,

Yes, the VoiceLive 2 can be used as an audio interface.

With a midi keyboard, the maximum number of notes can be 4 or 8 depending on whether harmony doubling is activated in the harmony tab of the edit menu. If you want a big choral effect, check out the choir feature - it's something pretty special!

What I would like to know is , because I intend to use the VoiceLive2 as a processor in studio production and not so much for live, will I be able to use it the way the video shows it if I have another audio interface? For example, I have an RME Multiface II and I would like to use it with VoiceLive2 but not use VoiceLive as an audio interface(I will use the ASIO driver from RME). Is this possible in any way?

Hiya,

Yes, the VoiceLive 2 can also be an audio interface.

The best thing to do is to download the VoiceLive 2 manual from TC Helicon's website. On page 32 -34 you'll find a detailed description of how to go about doing this. Yes, you will be able to hear the effect in real time.
