I love the old machines; one time however I bought an 5A, A5 whatever Corona electric; I click a key; it takes a week for the wheel arm to hit the paper. To hell with that! I'll stick with my Olympia thanks!
You do quite well on that little Lettera! These little machines aren't tolerant of bad rhythm because of their small type segment. I have a couple of little Olivetti and Hermes portables and I tend to jam them-thanks!
im sorry but whoever doesnt like the thrill of spelling something right on these (especially with no effort involved) and the noise they make has not lived XD
I like the way you're doing a "hunt and peck" technique needed for manual typewriters. Maybe that's why some of the youtube demos of them fail and jam the keys: because they're using a flatter, laptop typing technique.
I have a lettera 22, very similar. I use it for some school work and informal typing. It works very well now that I put cooking spray on it to grease the part where the letters join, so now it doesn't stick.
I often use my typewriter to put down thoughts, or letters to people I know which I don't intend to send to them, to get a better clear idea of what I think or think about people. The lack of easy editing leaves you with what you naturally write, not what you've doctored to be your desired or less spontaneous thoughts as well

Was wondering if anyone would catch on to that. And you're right about the left one - except I still have it, I just never use it when I type.

Why do you only have nine fingers? Was your left thumb chopped off somehow?

Well, you CAN touch a fountain pen to it. Or you can unhook it and insert the new one the opposite way you took the first one out.

:D Me, too. I like just to punch(Not literally)
out my thoughts onto my Underwood #5.
Or one of my other 7. It just feels so much more easy to get 'em out of my head.

Loved it. I'm getting a Lettera 32 myself. I currently have a Smith Corona Sterling (1940s) and it's smooth as hell. I'll post a vid of it soon.
