  • rich creamy voice... wonderful.

  • 1) n genere non apprezzo i cantanti asiatici. Li vedo scarsi nell'interpretazione, poco vicini alla sensibilita' tutta europea dell'Opera lirica.

    2) in questo caso mi rimangio la parola. La signorina in questione e' straordinaria. Timbro meraglioso, voce chiarissima, interpretazione piu' che convincente.

  • why is her tongue moving so much? and she is not the best soprano of e strano in korea. sumi jo is the best, in fact sumi jo is one of the best sopranos in the world. then hong hye kyung and shin young ok comes close.

  • This is the only performance of this brilliant Korean singer on YouTube. Can somebody call the Korean ambassador and let him know? This is a very serious breach of international protocol.

  • She has to be the world's best soprano!

  • I am becoming a big fan of Korean sopranos. The singing is just exquisite.

  • Wow, that is beautiful!

  • excelente......................

  • oh wow. Did I miss the emotion in Sumi? Watch Anna Netrebko, Diana Damrau, Natalie Dessay. Even Renee Fleming. They move while they sing. They dance, they make you interested.

  • I like this, but Sumi Jo wins out.

  • ugly vibrato! bad!!!! and the tenor worse!

  • to operalover84...this is how she has such great diction. She's throating it. But she still has the power to deliver. She's young and will learn that it has to come from your vjj.

  • I love her voice and diction, and could learn from her but is it a korean thing to have no emotion in their performances?

  • @leangesdemoi Sumi jo is korean and she has a butt load of emotions.

  • Ma che brava !!!

  • ทำไมคนเราถึงต้องทำเสียงให้มันประหลาดพิศดารวิตถารถึงเพียงนี้

  • Unfortunately, it would seem the emphasis in opera now is turning towards superficially attractive people with no technical foundation and no importance placed on vocal longevity. Singers have almost literally become one night stands.

  • @ShmizzyMcGriddles

    couldn't agree more.

  • Ugh, and don't even get me started on that awful tenor -- there's no hope for him and his cord-shredding, pushed, bellowing! Yuck!

  • Does NO one else see hints here and there of insecure technique?! Her throat sounds very squeezed, her larynx is practically in her mouth, and her tongue is so tense and connected to her larynx that it's wobbling along with her vibrato -- all signs that things are not working properly. She is young and she may be able to get away with singing like this now, but she's going to have to iron our her technique if she wants to sustain a long career as an opera singer...

  • @OperaLover84 Is that why her tongue is shaking so? I thought she was just faking the vibratto.

  • Wow!

I dare to say this is the most stunning rendition of all. What a powerful voice!

  • @odlangazurc I agree with you. she is excellent.

  • excellent ! bravo!

  • gute Stimme und viel Ausstrahlung!

  • Great voice and good excution.

  • bravissima! Joo!!

  • @sujin00shin Thank you for having a brain!

  • A great artist. Thank you for posting it. I wish her to have a great international career.

  • Excellent!

  • Absolutely stunning clarity and power
