  • Provencial french lyrics:

Mother, the church bells are pealing

Tonight (or This night), balin-balan (onomatopoeia for ding-dong)

    The sheep bells are ringing,

Why is there all this noise?

The cat leaps on the basket

    Medor yaps in the field

And the rates in the haystack

    Are roaming like brigands!

  • zelda forever!!!!\o/

    kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • I'm definitely IN for the 16th century style....wish we could dress this way all the time...love the romance of it....this song is GORGEOUS, as usual, and love the Celtic vibes.....just wonderful!!!! A+++++!!!!!

  • @007glynna And do you realize how much hardships they had back then? We are living better than 16th century kings and queens now compared to back then.

  • @korkiwi And look at all the petty things we complain about these days? Hard work brings humility, it brings a love for the simple things in life. We look at the details and get upset over them. When one works hard for what one gets, anything that person gets is a blessing and isn't taken for granted.

  • @DruidRobur You're so right, much of what we complain about today is pretty stupid. However, I think I'd rather live during the Renaissance era than the Middle Ages.

During the Renaissance, life was a little easier than the medieval period. People were a little more well-educated, new art forms were being discovered and most of all, people bathed more regularly than in the middle ages.

The 21st century however is slowly becoming, as Merlin put it; "one, big modern mess"

  • LOVELY...

  • @AncientriversRainbow I have heard it is a traditional song from a region called Provence. the first verse is in local - Occitan - language.
