  • This has become my 4-year-old son's favorite YouTube video. But he worries that the man at the end will fall into the lava.

  • @mcj814 Thomas lost his life on etna sliding on an icy stone one year ago

  • LOOOVE THE SONG!

  • I thought I recognised the music!

    J.T. Bruce for the win.

This is awesome, by the way.

  • At about 2:30 onward for a bit it sounds a bit like a cross between the original Doom level music and something Dragonforce'd rip out, lol.

    Awesome video too.

  • Very well done.

  • 噴火に伴う上昇気流によって、竜巻が発生しています。

  • omfg now i know how crazy somebody can be.....

  • My preschool students are doing a project on volcanoes. We watched your video in class and it was a huge hit! This was a great teaching tool. Thanks!

  • Thanks very much; that is the best compliment I can get for my work ;-)!

  • Inspiring work your doing there mate, keep it up! :D

  • Preschool students get to learn about volcanoes now? Education in my day is idiotic.

  • huh run?

  • whoaa!

  • christmas :P

    nice vid 5/5

  • brave

  • Awesome Video! I wish I could make a movie like this. I think I saw a funnel cloud between 1:16 to 1:54. Was it a tornado? I also like the music. Keep it up fellas. I'm adding this one to my favorites.

  • It is not a real tornado - but a tornado like phenomenon. It is ice melting releasing steam into the air being drawn around the base of the volcano by warm rising gases.

  • Visit Sicily!

  • Impresionante, un video precioso. Es una de las cosas que tengo pendiente de hacer en esta vida. Gracias por tu video!!!

  • nice vidio whats the name of the song i like it

  • The music from "Eruption of Etna Volcano December 2006" is from JT. Bruce and is called "Shoulder of Orion" (first) and "The Dreamer's Overture" (second).

  • thank you your the best

  • cszFCF

  • Nice video and music, good one!

  • Respect to the photographer/cameraman, should have taken some marshmellows :-D

    volcano's look very cool,

    but when they erupt,

    thats something different....

Im gonna get an A on my assignment !!

  • öde...

  • wow

  • Wow, a lot of pressure lol. xD

  • 5:27

  • 5:03-5:16 is my favorite part

  • it erupts once at 3 months i think

  • I live in Italy!

  • its good

  • The twister is not small, my dear. It is big, just looks small because it is far.

  • the earth is pooing xD lol jk

  • no more snow then

  • the magma is already made,we are above this, the earth is like an egg,the thin and fragile external part is where we live, all under us,is magma, somethimes are to much pressure and it explodes, and it will find some ways, like vulcans that have a opened exit,by the way, magma= lava, magma is when is under the ground, when it comes out we call lava!!! sorry my poor english!!

  • THAT WAS BAD AND COOL

  • THAT IS BAD

  • sure ;-)

  • Mount Etna towers 3340m over the city of Catania on the large Mediterranean Island of Sicily. The volcano has been frequently active in recent times and shows a combination of mild explosive activity, sometimes producing sustained ash columns, together with frequent A'a type lava flows which may reach runouts of several km. Spectacular paroxysmic lava fountaining events have been frequently observed at the summit craters in recent years.

  • Great video!

  • when the earth ejaculates lol

  • was that a pyro clast in the second part?

  • Yes indeed there were several glowing rock fragments thrown through the air...

  • God damn ah say god damn, thats a cool job u got thomas!

  • In principle I would agree ;-) but unfortunately it is not my job ;-(...

  • Thomas,

Great footage man. You are awesome for putting this together! Thanks!!!

  • Mount ETNA RULES! I used to live in Sigonella, Sicily until we moved back to the states in 1998.

  • fantastic. best volcano vid on youtube.... i love the packing bit too haha

  • what is that song? it sounds like game music. its got pretty cool chugging rythms in it.

  • The music from "Eruption of Etna Volcano December 2006" is from JT. Bruce and is called "Shoulder of Orion" (first) and "The Dreamer's Overture" (second).

  • a twister and a vulcano. Weird, but so beautifull! I Love Tornado's

  • You really don't love tornado's.

  • thanks!;D good video!

  • wtf!! a tornado on a volcano?

    can anybody tell me why?

  • It is not a real tornado it is ice melting releasing steam into the air being drawn around the base of the volcano by warm rising gases.

  • Excellent video and very clear too

  • ASTONISHING

  • that smoke at 209-341 kinda makes me sick to my stoumach

  • It was the most impressive I have seen so far but I hope some more will follow!

  • hey Reichart, where are you from? you seem european :P

  • I'm from Germany (south part near Stuttgart). Unfortunately I don't speak Italien :-(!

  • this is very interesting. i could sit for hours watching this eruption happen over and over again

  • So could I, we share the same passion!

  • great video. 5 stars. how did you get that close?

  • I had a good telephoto lens. The eruption side was close to the SEC (South East Crater) so it was good accessible.

  • hey man. i am a volcano lover also..but idk a dam thing about them.could you tell me something about them..what they do and all that. thanks man!

  • hi friend.if you wanna know all about volcanos, gelology is the science that research about that!!

  • i think its da 3 sisters!!!

  • HOT MAGMA

  • Great!

  • cool nice video

  • Good footage. Tornado made it more dramatic!

  • whas it a tornado there

  • "its ice melting releasing steam into the air being drawn around the base of the volcano. It gives a circular motion forcing rotation around the outer edges" :-)

  • 6:20 it's BEAUTIFUL... and terrifying too.

  • I've been there once. It's awsome! :)

  • excellent video...the music fits the video.....good job

  • how do volcano makes magma or lava..

  • my god, that was a dam good vid you got there, awesome. ratical, extreme.

  • great video, but the music is god awful...the sound of the volcano in the distance wouldve been far more interesting.

  • Nicce,

What camera did you use to film?

  • In this case it was a Sony DCR-TRV60E (MiniDV). In the meantime I use a Canon HV-20 (HD)

  • That man neally got burnt to bits

  • OMG XD That's cool but scary o_O

  • Good film! :)

  • Holy Fuk! that was awsome... Nice Viedeo man...

Ur Lucky u got To See It live, Cuz Not Many ppl do and not Eruptions like these.

  • volcanoes are sweet...

  • Its not a tornado...its ice melting releasing steam into the air being drawn around the base of the volcano. It gives a circular motion forcing rotation around the outer edges.

  • Yes of course you are totally right, thanks for clearing this (I guess it is more a problem of language it is just shorter to say "tornado" also it is not completely right but everyone understands what I mean)

  • No problem man, keep on the great filming. This stuff keeps me more directed towards my childhood when I was fixated with Volcanoes and Tornadoes. Good to see people interested in the forces of nature and the qualities they hold in the formation of our beautiful planet.
