All they can do is lob missiles and harass them with incursions of the PLA navy at this point. All they can do is lob missiles and harass them with incursions of the PLA navy at this point. I wouldn't worry about the PRC until they have a sufficient fleet to invade. Right now they lack the ability to land a appropriate number of men in Taiwan , yet alone having the ability to supply them- even under the assumption their landing or logistics would not be contested by the ROC.
Taiwan is no pushover, they have a million and a half men, and just as big of an airforce(equipped with superior F-16s, as apposed to the PLAA J-10s.)

If one looks at the situation between Taiwan and the British isles you would find the situation to be almost identical.
As of now the PLA can sustain and land only three divisions at the most with full supply.
