  • I couldn't hear or understand a WORD she said :(

  • mwo yeyo? lol

  • I am visiting Korea in April and wondering which neighborhoods have the best street food. Love your videos. How long are you going to still live and teach in Korea?

  • @pakdds There's great street food all over the place! No need to worry about that! I still live in Korea and absolutely love it! We'll be here for a long time.

  • @KoreanPride123 Korea is awesome! I'm still here and now posting some great videos about this nation for the government.

  • In Thailand we borrow the Tornado Potatoes from S. Korea (I think) and make them a popular street snack. You should come to Thailand and try the street food! I eat them everyday, quite amazing! (despite some of them are pretty greasy and made of flour).

  • Very interesting! The tornado potato is one of the reasons my friends and I trek to the annual Asian night market (summer time only) here in Vancouver. The colpot seemed interesting. Do u eat it w a spoon or straw? Your students did well despite the audio. Thanks.

  • i miss korea :'(

  • @TeamRedz Come back!!!! Thanks for subscribing!

  • OMG korean street food is sooo delicious!!! I just saw some indian street food and almost barfed!! I think chinese, japanese, and korean street food is the most delicious street food out there!

  • wow!! you are so lucky

because eventhough you didn't speak korean,

but you still get order your food in korea

    to speak in english!!

  • can't hear the dame conversation due to street noise and people talking around.

  • this is awesome. It's like watching a travel channel show but better lol

  • Sundae isn't that blood sausage? To me it's like regular sausage I think the color probably turns some people off. What I would like to try is lung. Dukbokki sauce has a different taste with each vendor kinda like marinara sauce does. I would love to try Kimbap, and so many other dishes. I like Kimchi, want to try stews and soups. It all looks delicious to me and fattening I wonder how they stay so thin.

  • @JamConcerned well blood ones are usually sold in restaurants (take more time and effort to cook them) and they're only offered in southern provinces. sundae doesn't have blood (well I guess they all get out) b/c they're boiled for so long.

  • @tokee1234567 I wonder how they prepare it since it is so dark I guess America's maybe use food coloring or different spices that change the color. Well I will definately try Sundae.

  • @JamConcerned you mean the dark colour of the outer sundae intestine layer?? um I think intestines are originally that dark... but I don't know why that dark. a lot of western sausages have a greyish tint, and manufacturers put food coloring and caramel dye to make the meat pinkish before putting them out in stores I think.

  • @tokee1234567 When they cut into the sausage the intestine is dark and so is the meat I guess that is what turns everyone off. It's almost black I wonder if it's spices because if you cook meat it turns brown. What kinda of meat is black. Plus the casing (intestine is also black). The same thing with lung it's a dark or dark grey black. When lungs are not that color unless they have black lung disease.

  • @JamConcerned it's not meat it's actually potato noodles they put in there, and the potato noodles are mostly transparent, so it will look grey if the intestine surrounding it is grey. and i think it's due to extensive boiling, since I've seen organic sausages that have grey colour and people ate them fine at barbeques

  • wow I can't believe he actually likes sundae all my white friends would barf after one bite lol

  • i want a tornado potato!!! i think it would totally sell here in canada...especially if you make a poutine variation XD

  • Okay this is amazing the food and the kids. Really cool that they wanted to be part of this. Good learning experience for everybody.

  • do u hire 12 year old kids 2 hold the camera and act in ur vids?

  • he probably took advantage of her lol hahahaha

  • This is weird, she's like 12.

  • How did you find those kids? are they your students?

  • WOW!!I Miss Kore Now!!!waaahhh!!!

  • U make me wanna go ba to Korea again mann hahaha

  • wow you should be a host :D

  • nice.

actually, I'm studying Japanese to go to Japan but Koreans seem to have somewhat of a better grasp on English than most Japanese haha. I mean thats just how it seems but I'm sure thats just my opinion but anyways pretty interesting!

  • I wanna go to Koreaaaaa! :D

  • aww that girl was soo sweet

  • You eat hot chilli?

You'll have HOT chocolate starfish on next morning.

But don't hasitate it! it's Korean life.

  • I love Korean food.

  • WTF? The little girl gets only one bite?

  • @loveskwomen

yea thats what i said too, who knows.... the seems like a molester anywho

  • Hmm--I didn't see any of this when I was in Korea. The street food I had usually involved fried flattened squid (pretty good!) and roasted silkworms (which I didn't try). That giant potato thing looks pretty good.

  • @cybersalad The Tornado Potato is AWESOME!

  • @cybersalad The Food Depends On Where You Are. In Seoul The Street Food Is Really Good.

  • Those Sundae things are from Spain too (morcilla) and they are best thing ever.

Wit rice, spicy, sweet, onion, many kinds.

  • You can see her fidgeting with her cheat sheet! Too cute!

  • Westerners usually don't like sticky foods.

  • NICE! ;D i can see and learn more! great help of the kids!

  • I wish he looked a little more like maury but I still like him.

  • iranski

  • wow 빡빡이

  • I am Korean american and appreciate looking at korean food. the girls are all adorable! I really enjoyed the video! I looooove the random korean words in the background so funny. =D loved it~ ^-^

  • I can hear you but I can't hear the girl really clearly. Interesting Video! I love Korean food!

  • hey qiranger have you learned to speak korean during your time there?

  • That I have!

  • @qiranger was it hard? and how long did it take? and how much of your days were spent studying it?

  • Great idea. And the choices were spot on. I've lived in Korea for two years and I absolutely ddokbokki, as well as all my western friends. I think Monk is a little off. :-)

  • "love" ddokbokki...my bad.

  • wow guys like 2 1/2 ft taller than the koreans

  • I had tteokbokki when I was over in Korea but I never knew what it was called until now! Lol.

  • Those aren't young women. He's a very tall man talking to a couple of Korean midgets.

I'm enjoying this video because South Korean is just amazing to visit. I live near Korean Town in Chicago. Every payday, I'd go to a Korean Restaurant for some Kalbi

and some beer. It's a barbecue fit for a working slob like myself.

One day, I'll save enough money to travel to South Korea for a gourmet tour of most of the food stalls. So please, send more videos of the best food stalls in South Korea.

  • LMAO ya

  • Why are these girls so young ? And for goodness sake, please put subtitles when the asian cuties talk ! Thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • I hear a lot about ddokbokki from the videos I watch. ^^

I really don't like any spicy foods, but it makes me want to try it!

  • Oh btw, tornado potatos are absolutely gorgeous. If you are ever going to Korea, you gotta try that thing. I visited my family in Korea last year, and man, that tornado potato was the best food I've ever had during the vacation!.

  • i think he didn't like second one. And btw, i think food choices were bad, too. Western people don't like rice cakes that much due to the health difference, actually, something with mouth between them and asians. They don't like sticky food at all....(I tried to give some of rice cakes to many of my friends, and all of them didn't like it that much :(

  • man.. i love korean food..

  • its VERY VERY hard to hear what girls r saing

  • its like you have your own traveling who or something haha

  • PLEASE PEOPLE!! at least learn a few words of the country youre gonna visit to show aprecciation thats why some asian countries are racist with us... when koreans come to visit US they have to talk in english and when we go to Korea we pretend that they talk to us in english PLEASE PEOPLE!!! be culturalsensitive!

  • @vivianitalize

You can infer that he's an English instructor if you read the description of the video. You're right about learning the language nonetheless.

  • I envy her english skill lol

  • You will get there with extra studying!

  • @wellbingOK i bet u r korean nd most korean r very jealous. she speaks english well cause she was born in u.s

  • @KOSEHALAK first of all you are replying to an old thread and that account had been deleted and how do you know that wellbingOK is Korean. And lastly do not stereotype people by their nationalities. Most of you guys I've talk to want their respect but not the other way.

  • that is coolest fried potato I've ever seen!!!

  • should've dip soondae in the thukbokki sauce!!

  • you're a total cretin. amazing to me that you spent time in asia as your manners are rude by even american standards to say nothing of asians.

    disgusting.

  • is she your students in your school ? xD cute ~

  • They were my students from lat year.

  • girl taking the cam was speaking...lol... bad timing... korean food looks good

  • Camera boy saying " she Would be nice .. " xD because only she eat many foods but camera kids are can't eat anything xD

  • i'm Korean and i never been to Korea..... this makes me want to go there more.......

  • Then come on over!

  • Haha i don't have that kind of money right now..

  • I love the idea of the tornado potato! I wish I had known about them before my vaction in Korea last year.

  • good

  • OMG!!! I want some of that!!! I miss Korean street food!!! If you eat fried food with ttok bok yi red source over it. it also taste yummy!!!...oh!! Soondae!!! Korean sausage!!!!! I love it!!!!! arg!!!!

  • i lolled at the end when she was reading the paper

  • Cool video, thanks for sharing. I'm ready for a ColPop. You say these are honor students helping you make this video. The young ladies your interviewing are speaking great English. Have you been teaching these students for a long time ?? What level students do you teach ?? Do you teach privately or with a company ??

  • They had been studying English for some time. I was their teacher for 3 months. I was teaching elementary students at the time.

  • Lol I can't really hear the little girl talking.

  • hahaha that kid is so cute! she really knows her stuff =p

  • I don't understand how the col-pop works, does is make the drink taste of barbeque sauce?

  • It's a second container that sits above the soda with a snack in it. Thus allowing you to sip your drink and eat with only using one had. It was designed for people on the go in commuting traffic.

  • my friend cooked the first meal for me i think i had about 4 bowls! its soo good :P

  • you cant go wrong with korean vendors. they are delicious!!! but i wouldnt use the soy sauce if i were you, its like out in the open for everyone to use.

  • I enjoy watching your video.

  • i mix sundae with dukboki

  • no idea sundae was a korean food. im viet and i eat it all the time o.o

  • hey it's Sanghyun dong here right? I thought this place was familiar to me and then I realized it was my neighborhood!:)

  • what's with the little girls?

  • They were members of my honor student class. for more information on the project, check out the description box. They were a little nervous on the crowded street, so their voices weren't too loud.

  • can't hear the girl in the first minute

  • That Sundae was type of Korean sausage.

  • I'm really interested in going aboard to korea..

if it's possible (from the vids I assume you are residing in Korea right now) is there a way you could give me some advice before making a final decision in going to Korea?

Is it better to visit then to live in Korea??

  • It depends on what you're panning on doing. I assume you're planning on either studying or teaching here. In any case, I'd just come. I really enjoy it here and think that most would as well.

  • ahhhhhh i'm studying in US now and the video made me to miss korea so freaking much!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Looks like good food I would hope to try on my visits.... just don't like the open animal abuse in the markets.

  • open animal abuse isn't the daily sight in korea. maybe in china, but not in korea...

This is one of the false images that some "bad" japanese people are making (there are good people too, of course)

    cheers.

  • Hey that's a cool video! Nice initiative using students. Nice.

    Delicious food!

  • if you are being sarcastic, which i assume you are, kids make up engglish names for their english classes etc to help their native-english-speaking teachers say the names easier and for different reasons. (if i make any sense)

  • very cute video, adorable litttle kids,

  • lol soo funny at the last one kids are talkin about cutting lines XD

its really nice vid i wish i can go visit korea... not been there for about 8years...

  • Very entertaining and informative. I will be in Korea soon and your videos has been helping me a lot. Thank you!

    cute little girls btw:)

  • omg korean street food is the BEST

best rice cake in red peper paste.. ddukbokgi xD

i really want to visit South Korea :(

  • awesome .. I miss Korea... :(

  • I miss it as well!

  • I also loved my time in Korea. Climing Mount Sorak (close to where I lived) and Mount Chiok and meeting wonderful people all the way up... Wearing their Sunday best clothes... Ha ha. And my time on the Korean sitcom was priceless as well. :-)

  • ;-)

  • Aw, I wasn't buying that face you made on the Sundae! ;) "It's nice". Uh huh! Sounds like what Bourdain says when he turns from the camera and goes "pteww" :0

I'm so glad you got home safely and are choosing to remember only the good! What sweet kids they were, and what sights you saw. Letting the rest of it go is a wonderfully healthy outlook! You rock :)

  • Sundae wasn't bad. It had more rice than what I expected!

  • this is wonderful, that food looks yummy!

  • That it was!
