  • 5:24 Get ready for the MInd Fuck! 5:25- 5:35= 0_0' !

  • I don't know about you, but whenever i bid my friends farewell, I ALWAYS give them a friendly light-bulb heart penguin. I mean, common courtesy to the max, dude :p

  • About how long did it take you to have a good understanding of the Japanese language and have an in-depth conversation with another person.

  • Emoji ?

  • It's not boring for those who like japan and want to know how the hell they type Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji on mobile phone :D so it's basically like average phone of westerners( which is us) , you have to press the same button if you want to get a word which is in the same line that is showed on button.

  • Loved your reaction to 'lightbulb heart... penguin' lmfao :-)

  • neko, they even have the cat icon~ :))

  • The 'lightbulb heart penguin' part KILLED me XD

  • 'Lightbulb heart penguin' xD

  • Thankyou for your "language"-ness!!

  • am i the only one that likes this phone better then touchscreen and keyboards??

  • Where did you go to start to learn Japanese?

  • @BlankEssence You don't have to go anywhere to learn Japanese. :o

  • 5:57 "See you later lightbulbheartpinguin"

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Eres muy bonita.

  • Hiragana isn't phonetic, it's syllabic.

  • are you still in japan??

  • Me personally, i don't really like the soft bank phones, i prefer AU. the only reason i have soft bank is because my parents got me an iphone :p XD

  • Why I have an iPhone!

    (>人<;) (=´∀`)人(´∀`=)

    今一羽 こんばんわ、 あんいえー茶!!!

  • lol

i messed with my friend and sent her a text "omg i'm so excited to see you friday, o(=7=)o"

    she replied "wtf is that?"

  • you should give some more lessons and japanese take out or japanase pools

  • why is there a jet taking off in the background?

  • lol my friend went to japan for 2 weeks one time and brought back this phone that flipped opened UP AND SIDEWAYS and it was all in Japanese hirigana..tried to figure out how to work it for 5 days before giving up..but hey Japanese (the writing system) can be hard, but prunciation is quiet easy

  • is it hard to text in japanese

  • lol..."seeya later! lightbulbheartpenguin"

  • I really wanted a Japanese phone, so that I can test/type in japanese and also have my phone in Japanese. I just got an iphone xD

  • Oh my gosh! I've been wondering how you text in Japanese! That makes sense. ^_^

  • Just get an iPhone lol

    It's universal (I think).

  • are EU and US phones compatible with japanese networks ?

  • @seamonkeywater Iphones do, just select the japanese keyboard and there's a key that gives you a bunch of crazy emoticons.

  • (Creeper alert) You = adorable. There I said it. Been watching your videos last hour or so and they're pretty helpful but the predominant feature of them all would be you = adorable.

  • mna yur videos r interesting

  • your videos are so much fun!

  • Watched your video, and I didn't understand a thing. I watched it now after learning a little more, and I understand. I wouldn't have said that your language lesson was boring, more of a refreshment. I want a japanese cell phone or at least an Iphone now.

  • I want a japanese cellphone >__<

  • wow kl! i want a Jp phone nowww loll

  • What is the rule for cell phones during school in Japan? I'm considering being a foreign exchange student ^_^

  • @lpanimechicks as far as i know they are banned but like most teens i think they find a way but i am not too sure i know Japanese Schools are kinda strict

  • @YamiAlex224 yeah i can imagine, thanks for the reply ^^

  • @lpanimechicks no problem like i said i am not 100% sure but from what i have looked up and seen ya. you might want to look into it

  • @YamiAlex224 yeah i will sometime ive been doing so much learing about japan lately, maybe ill stumble upon the answer =)

  • I love her videos!!

  • Why are Americans so obsessed with Japan?

  • What about dakuten? Like が for example. Do you have to cycle through several times to get them or they have to be added separately? I've got a Japanese Casio electronic telephone book and the (han)dakuten has to be added separately as an extra chatacter.

  • do you like japan? japan doesnt like you

  • you should talk about japanese candy if you haven't already

  • It's not boring, really should stop saying that, you are actually very interesting to listen to because most jap community bloggers always have to be pissy about shit in some way and turn it into "racist" gripe (in a way).

  • have you head of DOMOKON OR WAS IT KUN? THATcute brown monster thingy!!

  • im digging the garageband

  • jw which did u start learning first hiragana or katakana? which one is the one that most useful to learn first if i would like to travel to japan one day?

    plz respond

  • do a vid of hallowween candy and outfits yo

  • o.e' wat

  • What was the song called ta the beginning of the video? The funky sounding one.

  • Can you text In Katakana too?

  • very cool!!

  • Will you be returning to Japan ever?

  • @seamonkeywater You can send Japanese emoticons in text messages but not those animated ones since those can only be received in mail system. However, only Japanese phones can received those pictographs. So you can send a text message to your friend if your friend owns a Japanese cellphone as well. Tried and tested with NTT docomo phones only though.

  • wahhh....Japanese seems sooo complicated!! i'm SO excited to learn it!!! :D

  • my friend's grandma has bright orange hair , it's awesome. Great video thanks : ) 5 stars

  • i thought cat was spelled 猫

  • @ZeroAr5 that's when it's spelled in out in kanji. ねこ is just the hiragana spelling of the kanji 猫.

  • @ZeroAr5 square

  • :( i'm so jelous.. you have no idea how much i want to go to japan....and.. i thought that cat was spelled 猫

  • Well that was discouraging. I doubt I'll ever be able to even learn japanese if I wanted to...

  • texting sounds like such a chore over there. im sure the great food makes up for it

  • Love this video!!! Thank you!

  • @brotherannie OOPS.. I DIDN'T MEAN TO PUT THE THUMBS DOWN..... :(

  • great tips for getting to know the written language

  • lol a guide to sexting in japan would be good lol just joking

  • OH I GET IT, because it's like texting, but instead you said sexting, which is funny because it has the word sex in it, which is funny.

    Oh puns

  • lol i was joking im not some old pervert i am a 15 year old going to japan

  • where do you buy keitai denwa?

  • at a cell phone shop in Japan? Like Docomo, Softbank, AU, etc.

  • could i buy a cellphone in japan and use it in america?

  • I think you might have to pay through the nose if you tried to do that. But I bet it's possible. The plan would just be crazy expensive probably. But I know I can't use my phone in America. ;_;

  • ok thankyou

  • Do an 温泉 video!! err... well not naked, you know.

  • LOL, I've already been to one, and let me tell you, I've seen enough old lady butts to fill a lifetime. That's not a bad idea though, I'll see what I can do. I might get dirty looks if I took a camera into one though, even just the lounge area where everyone's dressed. I'm pretty sure I'd be escorted out pretty quickly.

  • um hi!n ok well im always confused by this. what the difference between san, chan, kun, and the like?

if you could explain that would be awesome!!!

  • Here's the dealio: chan and kun are basically the same term except kun is almost always used for boys, where as chan can be used for either. They're used when you're referring to someone younger or of a lower "ranking" than you, however you wanna interpret that. San is pretty general and you use it for people you don't know or don't know well, or for someone older/of a higher "ranking" than you. San is a good default to fall back on if you don't know which of these to use, because its so common.

  • @brotherannie kk thx soo much

  • Nice

  • So how does this idea of wabi-sabi fit in with what I perceive to be a very ordered culture?

Also, anything you want to do on J-pop would be great (love me some Halcali, Guitar Wolf Supercar and of course Shonen Knife).

  • Yeah, wabi-sabi is a little contradictory to the orderly Japanese culture you normally think of (which is why I like wabi-sabi so much), but it does emphasize simplicity and modesty, which are values you see focused on a lot in Japan, at least traditionally.

And J-Pop! Heck yes I will do a video on that. I might do a general vid on J-music (all genres) and then make another on just J-rock/pop. hope that sounds fun?

  • part 2: i plan on doing a summer study program like u did when you were 16, what program/group do you suggest i join? and why did you choose to go to japan over a u.s. school? and what are you studying/ plan 2 be? im asking these q. because i want to go to japan and i love japan since i was very small but idk if i shld go there for college, thx for advice :)

  • sorry, both deletions were an accident! I don't hate you, promise! And the program I did was called "Youth For Understanding"--it was a summer program for 6 weeks, and I didn't get school credit for it because of this. You CAN go for a semester or a year and get credit, but it would all be in Japanese (that was too intense for me at the time). It's hard to find programs where you can take classes in English, but as for colleges, check out Kansai Gaidai University (thats where I'm at now).

  • tyvm. and about the "youth for understanding" program how much was it for the 5 or 6 week prgram during the summer and did u enjoy it? thx for al of thereplys:) it means a lot

  • no problem! Here's where I have to bum you out though: the YFU program was pretty freakin' expensive. I got a scholarship for half of it---$3000. x_x However, I had a blast while I was there. But still, I'd recommend a year as an exchange student while you're in college instead, because ideally you'd just be paying for your home university's tuition, but studying abroad (that's what I'm doing now).

  • wow so the total program was 6k.:0ill find a way to get a scholaship and ill work off the 3k(i think lol) i was thinking abt doing th excange program college but thts 2 long of a wait for me(ive been waiting to go since i was 5, and no not just because of animae) im going to go in the summer as well as for college for a year at least. o vid. suggestion! u shld do things tht stand out to u in jap. tht A. dsnt have, such as tech.(using a cell to order fod@mcdnlds)or mayb what their mall loks like

  • hi ,part1: i commented on your other video and one of my comments got deleted 2 times, did you do that or maybe not? anyway ill ask again just in case it was an error.

  • That's a really good question, however, the computers at my school have Western keyboards, so I'm not sure if I can show you, but I'll keep my eyes peeled! I do have some pictures of the laptop keyboard of my last host brother's which I'll see if I can throw into the next vid (I'll try and find them <_<).
