I wish I had filmed them last night, I got lost trying to meet a friend at an English bar, I was walking on 1st rd (I was sober and I do not take drugs) I saw there pickup truck stopped in traffic , so I thought possibly these guys might know where this bar is, walked calmly to there car said

"excuse me, don't suppose you know where the bar called Beer & Coffee is?"

The reply came back from what sounded like an Australian guy

I have no beef with the foriegn police helpers but they just sit around doing as little as possible ,i do think they lack any thai language skills which seem essential to me,even i as a quite frequent visitor to the country can speak more thai than they can and they live there.

At best they are weak translators who ALWAYS side with the locals and tell you to pay up, even when you're in the right. They are famous for saying, "There is not much we can do." I've seen it over and over and over again. The Falang Tourist Police are a laughing stock. They are just one more gang in Pattaya.

Tourist police in Thailand is a big joke, once i tried to ask for their assistance after being robbed :

1) the Thai "tourist police" did not speak any english

2) the "farang" Tourist police turned their back at me when i tried to go speak to them

Then a French guy with the face of Quasimodo, lots of tatoo and a "tourist police" uniform spoke to me to tell me not to bother them and to "be more carefull" to avoid being robbed again...

I don't know how much you know about Thailand, in general, but you obviously don't know much about the Thai police. My logic makes more sense then believing in the good Samaritan (farang here: ) story.

And yes, they can get the non-imm visa because they work for the police, even if not paid; working for non-profit org.s like Unicef will also get you a non-imm visa. They'll also need a work permit after that, to be legal, but I suppose this can be omitted because nobody is actually checking them.
