  • instead of thread I just used duck tape to secure it all down on the inside is that okay ?

  • @Thepowerpuffsquad i dont know. try it and let me know how it turns out. i would just be concerned of it it starts to peel off that it'll stick to you lol

  • I like the wetsuit version better but this is pretty good

  • shouldve done some el tape dude,,, i know its more expensive but looks cool. im thinking of doing my motorcycle jacket with just one line down the right zipper in 1 inch tape and maybe near my shoulder an elbow to a circle... saw all of it on ebay for reasonable i think like 38 bucks total

  • @ugirl2 thanks, if i do it again, ill do it right. i was just trying to stay on a min. wage budget.

  • That is so awesome! So, about how long did it take you to finish the whole costume? Also, do you think it would work to sew in white paper on the sections that you closed off with the EL wire? Because in the movie they had whole sections lit up, so I was thinking if you could lighten the thicker fully colored in sections it might look more like the movie's costumes.

  • @jilliexbean that's a good idea, I was trying to think of ways to make the glow areas more full but i think youd have to use something a little more flexible than paper. try it and see how it looks! let me know!

  • DUDE YOU ROCK THX

  • mines look much better cuase its much times brighter using the led tape lights

  • I want your power to instantly teleport closer to the screen.

  • Get alot more EL wire to make the lines look fatter

  • The real way to make a good tron costume is to go to Disney and pay them lots of money to make you a suit that actually looks good. If you like the movie don't make suits like these they insult the movie.

  • Please don't take this the wrong way but you should have saved your money. The result of your work looks shit, sorry.

  • So i bought 20 feet of EL wire. And 15 of it is one wire, the other 5 is seperate. (The 5 feet is gonna be in case i run out, i got a split chord.) Im gonna be Quorra!! )

Im using your video as a guide and THANK YOU for making this.

  • what kind of pants do you need?

  • @iBakaDattebayo i just got some cheap workout pants... they're black, they fit they were cheap. you just need matching pants to do a bi-symmetrical design with. or no design and dark pants.

  • donde conseguiste el pinche glowing wire man?? como se llama?

  • @lllBoRUSSlll ebay "el wire"

  • @lllBoRUSSlll ALGUIEN QUE HABLE ESPAÑOL DIGANOS DONDE SE CONSIGUE EL GLOW WIRE PLISS!!!

  • @gabipapacito94 SE CONSIGUE EN EBAY! Y SE LLAMA "EL WIRE" ESTA MUY BARATO, PERO ANTES DE COMPRAR, ASEGURATE QUE MANDEN PAQUETES A TU PAIS, A VECES AY RESTRICCIONES. ASEGURATEEEE!! Y TRATA DE NO COMPRAR ALGO DE CHINA, PINCHES CHAFOS.

  • Looks like a bunch of glow sticks

  • hey i made it when i turn the light off my skin is black dark black when i turn the light on i change back to my normal skin. i thumbs up for you i pretty don't my skin dark black like a giant sudo.i am not joking but thumbs up for me everybody its cine of funny people but i think its not funny its funny to you ok.

  • What is the total length of EL wire you used? :) I'm making a Gem costume and am using this as my guide

  • @jewelbenn i used two 3meter lengths... about 18 feet of luminescent awesomeness =D

  • DUDES!! its so simple. use the EL wire but at that use Ultra Film(commonly used by ultra sabers) to amplifiy the light so it becomes brighter and it looks like strips.Give t a shot bro's

  • How thick is the el wire you used?

  • @ScubaSteve5795 i'm not 100% on the thickness, but i think it was the 3.5mm, i wish i had the option to choose the thicker stuff, but for $30 total im not complaining. thanks!

  • 2:47 lol this lil pin that i have

  • its not bad!!!!! I don t care about the costume I just want the technology of the light in the movie.

    mabe could you help me

  • Comment removed

  • right. dont jst throw EL wire onto a Tshirt, cut out your Tron pattern on the shirt then put duct tape on the inside with the sticky part facing out, then add some shower curtain lining or any white cloth and put the EL wire around that. im making a demonstration video on this which should be up in the next month so if you guys are interested then just sub me and youll know when its up :) (ill have it way before halloween for you guys :) )

  • i read something on ehow that you can cut the EL wire so you dont have to thread it through and use so much wire. anyone know where i can find a video on how to do this?

  • This is awesome... AND nice Thomas More Shirt :)

  • @AngeliqueRCollins thanks, it's a high school thing, you from around here?

  • @mikeBURRITO I sure am! :)

  • As soon as I saw the movie, I made it a goal of mine to figure this costume out. Now, not to bash on you or the wet suit version of this, I simply don't like them. They're great, especially with what you had, but if those guys were able to make those suits so perfectly, why can't I? I aim to find that out. My issue with this is that EL wire is simply not straight or thick enough. It moves around, curves, and doesn't light a wide area. Great job for $30 though

  • @Mydnytefantasy89 thanks... i think in the movie they use large strips or EL tape that are all wired in somehow, some people try to find them, but only find out how expensive it is. when i ordered my EL wire via ebay. they showed a few different sizes with checkmark boxes, maybe there is a larger size that i didnt see. check it out!

  • @mikeBURRITO cool i rented a dvd and in special features they explianed the costumes and it said that the electricity was all connected to the disc

  • @Mydnytefantasy89 i want to make a tron costume too and looking at other costumes, i have the same issues with el wire. i would really opt for the el tape or settle with reflective tape to get the definite lines.

  • that's freakin awesome! i was thinkin i could make some tron outfits for me n my hubby for halloween....i may give this a try! :D

  • you are gonna make a helmet right? I would love to see that coming from your creation!!! Good work!

  • @PokeGypsie21 well... if i can find a cheap hockey helmet at a rummage sale i might... but I was trying to keep this a low budget costume. I still have to make the pants and I expect those to cost the same as the top. thanks for the positive comment!

  • there's actually a fabric thats lights up with some power. but it's obviously more expensive than a wire!

  • well it does light up but at my taste not good enough u waste 10:40 seconds of my life

  • Lol sorry your not gay that other black guy who made the suit is gay!! Mikeburrito your video is the shit !!! And it came out nice

  • I love tron but this guy seems a little..... GAY

  • Good job man. People have no idea just how expensive the tape is and will run your for a whole costume. I've recently purchased some 5MM wire and a small bit of tape that I'll be using to make a tron-like helmet. 2 feet of EL tape costs about as much as 15-30 feet of Wire depending on size etc.

  • @madd2069 sweet. let me know how it turns out.... i was also thinking that a black hockey helmet would work too... especially with the clean face guard.

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to just paint the shirt with glow-in-the-dark paint? It would be cheaper, too and it would automatically turn on whenever the lights are off.

  • @AwesomeSciFi tried it... doesnt work like i thought it would.... but i had the EL wire lyin around so i gave it a try.... but my total investment in this top is under 30 bucks....

  • EL Tape works and looks better! Its more along what they use in the movie

  • @Sorafraggle well.. i wasnt looking to spend a lot and i thought it serves its purpose, but thanks. ill keep it in mind

  • Yea it is pretty good, nice job

  • All that's missing is the light disc!! cool idea, doesn't look too bad. Good Job User!

  • @treybot777 well, i had EL wire laying around and thought id do something cool with it.

  • how long does this take, at the pace you did in video.

  • @darthjay13 at my "no rush pace" and having the plans and materials.... about 3 hours total, i did go back and re-sew the shoulder circle to make it more like the other side too

  • @mikeBURRITO ok kewl

  • Sweet!
