@phillybluntsj Actually we havent been fighting them. A fight is they appear for battle, the sides fight and one decimates or wipes out the other side. That is not happening now. The enemy is part time insurgent, and part time civilian. One day they put a bomb in the ground and kill a few marines. The next they attack a patrol and run back, hide weapons, and go to sleep. slightly off topic here but......how about a high resolution multi-optic satelite that can record an entire region over a span of say 24 hours, and if there is a suicide bombing they can simply rewind the video in reverse and track where the bomber was and who he met over the 24 hour span. Don't remember the exact precentages, but all of the debris were plotted for re-entry within several weeks after the hit. ISS is much further out and if your really worried about it that much, then you can go whine to the Chinese who destroyed one of their own satellites in GEO-sync just days before. You know....where the ISS is.

@BruderGrimm79: It might actually be useful. There is a lot of space junk out there and it has caused some rather expensive damage in the past. Finding ways to take out old satellites might be part of the solution.
In any event, the Chinese have played this game and we've got to make sure they understand we have the capability to knock out their satellites as well. Occasional demonstrations of capability are always cheaper than actual hostilities.
