Ms Kerr left her native Caledonia to go down south to the state of England and eventually lost her Scottish accent. Shame! But her red hair she kept, making her a true Scottish Celt!
The scots, by the way, have the highest percentage of redheads on the planet.
"The Day After the Fair" is an amazing play that was made into a movie on PBS with a different title. The lovely Hannah Gordon (from "Upstairs Downstairs" fame) played the main character in the movie and was absolutely heartbreaking. I can only imagine how wonderful Deborah Kerr was in that play. Thanks for posting this.
I was very fortunate to see Ms. Kerr onstage twice at the Kennedy Center in the early 1970s; once for the Edward Albee play 'Seascape' and 'The Day After The Fair'. She was wonderful!
@TempeB I'm so jealous! I would have loved to have seen her in "The Day After the Fair". Knowing the story, I'm sure that she was just heartbreaking. It easily could have been a part written just for her.
I've listened to this many times, and never get tired of hearing her perspective and insight on the industry she made history in. Plus, she's funny as heck!:)
Thank you very very much MissBoulay for uploading this interview. I agree with lyndsy88 that she is indeed a very down to earth lady. She will be missed and loved..!
I was visiting London in the late 70's and my friend had theater tickets that night, but didn't know much about the play. When we arrived at the theater and I looked at the marquee I nearly fainted. We were seeing Deborah Kerr. I was thrilled. She was one of my favorite actresses and I got to see her in person. It was marvelous!
What a wonderful treat to hear Deborah Kerr's 1973 interview! I absolutely adored her as clearly do so many. Thank you so very much, Miss Boulay. Please share more with us if you have any others. Marilyn

Ireland comes in second.

You will never imagine how much I enjoyed your "treasure", a real one! I kept listening to it over and over again just to hear her laughing.
I was "introduced" to Deborah Kerr by my parents and as everybody else fell in love with her almost immediately.
Thank you so much!
