I remember reading something Shannon Miller said (I paraphrase): Gymnastics is the hardest sport because every muscle in your body has to be in top shape. All you do is train your whole life just to compete for a few minutes.

People who don't really know the sport don't realize how demanding it is. The ONLY time it looks glamorous is during the actual routines in a competition. Other than that it's simply work.

Gymnastics is the greatest and most difficult sport in the world. But it's not for everybody. It's only for the super mentally strong. That cuts out about 99 9/10 of Americans and about 95 percent of the top gymnastics nations like China, Romania and the Russian states. The girls suffer, but they accept it. Don't feel sorry for them. Look up to them and try to learn a little of their strength. it's a hard sport, and it claims its victims. So do many other things in life.

About the sport..

I'm not sure wether I like wrestling or gymnastics better.

I think gymnastics is more in my blood.

I got taken from it for a while, gonna try and come back soon. I mean i havent done it years on end and im already 16 but heck.

Wrestling is very interesting to, being the only female. Prooving them wrong all that.

That's exactly how I feel. The pain, the poundings, the struggle. Years of repetition for ninety seconds of glory or failure. It's such an unforgiving sport. And yet, I love it more than any other sport in the world.
