  • @Christtnot

    It's just a fun fan-boy movie.

Unlike some other fun-fanboy movies, this one actually hit the high mark on my BOO-YA! scale.

Anywho, Spock kicked ass, Kirk was done right, and Nero is one of the original characters!

And uh.... The review is kinda totally wrong.

But, of course, the preview wasn't giving away that much.

  • This reviewer, is a nut case. "Its not a redo."

    It's not a tumor. Yeah, right. -.-

If you love light and noise (Most kids would) and have not seen Star Trek (or don't care, as long as it says Star Trek...), you'll love this film.

As for me, I'll watch adult films, thank you very much.

  • I love this film. Best of the year. Oh, I love your icon in with the poster.

  • SPOCK CHOP!!!

  • Best movie of the year!!!

  • i hate this movie

  • I though Star trek was a good movie

  • no krik and Scotty weren't late and i dont want to say what really happened because i really want people to see this work of movie magic in theaters

  • No, that movie DID NOT suck bad, you don't know a good movie if it bit you in the face haohmaru.

  • IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME

  • Does anyone here know how to get rid of the realtime sharing off? I tried everything. Can anyone help me?

  • I remember when I was say the film thinking that because there's time travel they would somehow manage to fix everything. I found it pretty interesting that they didn't but use it start a new series of adventures and hence a new franchise, that pretty much stand on its own.

  • So you liked the film? Were you glad that Spock/ Uhurah hooked up, or that they DIDN"T go back in time to save Vulcan. It was very original and unexpected.

Im just curious to hear your opinion.

  • Reviewer guy, this movie of StarTrek is a prequel, a reboot, and a sequel all at the same time.

Prequel because we get some origins of the characters and their universes.

Reboot because of the changes of event in all characters origins because of Nero's shift of event in the past, which is our present now.

Sequel because is the continuation in the story of one of the main characters, Spock. Future old Spock is the only link this new universe has. As he's fully aware of the original past.

  • "Next generation is okay but never really worked out on the big screen" On rotten tomatoes First contact is the highest rated star trek movie beating out wrath of khan. Now I don't think it deserved to beat it out but it's still a damn good movie. First contact also grossed alot of money.

    So hah.

  • :) I'm a huge Next Gen fan and like first contact a lot. It just felt different on the big screen because we had 7 seasons of adventures. Star Trek was on for 3, canceled, then we had to wait10 years for a movie...we got to love em from the movies. Next Gen just felt like big episodes on the big screen. First Contact is the best of those, I agree. And after seeing the new one I'd rank First Contact ahead of this one.

  • Yeah but hey the new one is pretty good too.

  • hey, remember you have to give us the link for the entire vid... ive been waiting for it.

  • The Spock Chop thing was quite silly but still pretty funny. XD And LOL @ hearing you uncensored for once. I think the censorship makes what you're saying more intense tbh.

  • uhm no MPC. in this movie the alterations in the timeline stay changed. destroying the idea of a prequel. its more like a ''canon-remake'' it has Nimoy-Spock from the original timeline, but the movie takes place in the new timeline where everything that was told before never happened.

also i have to point out that continuity in Trek was always shaky, but this blows it all away. and the movie doesn't hide it, it just happens.

    well...im told :)

and yes JJ Abrams had Star wars in mind

  • @henkman00 "and yes JJ Abrams had Star wars in mind."

And that, is why he failed. Anyone with a two digit IQ would know that taking notes from George Lucas to make a new Gene Roddenberry is deaths ring tone.

  • star trek has great ratings from the critcs and audiences!!!

this is a going to be a great movie.

  • Spock chop??? WTF was that? that was a little funny but mostly retarded. I'm picturing MPC listening to that when editing and laughing his ass off. You're still the man dude.

  • Have you seen the movie previewcritic? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, please tell us!

  • Comment removed

  • You were wrong about so many plot points. :P

  • He was going off of the preview.

    Really, he was guessing.

  • For how long have you been researching movies?

  • actually, this is a do-over. the timeline gets altered, so this is like a parralel universe version of the original show. and aparently, this going to have a new star trek series made after it. that is such a asshole, writers dodge move to pull, its not even funny, screw this movie. the star trek guys are beeting their dead horse even more than goerge lucas is with star wars!

  • Its like saying let 007 die; that won't happen:)

  • star wars still have revelency to modern society star trek doesnt

  • Im very glad that your assumptions from the trailer proved incorrect... they have truly rebooted the universe.

  • The birds are distracting...

  • You made a video about the Spock Chop. It was funny, but it's played out in here. Having seen the movie. I had to say you were way off with this one. I do understand it's a preview review. Good job like always though (except the Spock Chop)

  • star trek has been editing for 2 years. probably at least a yea for shooting. so if you think about it, movies have only recently been made for quick money excessively. so yeah...

  • Wow, what is with the overly long Spock Chop. That killed this preview review for me. usually I'm on board for your reviews but....hmmm....not so much.

  • 10:08 At last we have the Critic uncensored. I'll take that as an unadvertised hidden bonus :)

  • oooops! wow....i missed one.

  • lol wow I love getting replies from tha man

  • youre really pushing that spock chop.

  • lol @ Spock Chop. Its silly. :P

  • The Spock Chop thing is not gonna catch on as a meme, so please stop it...

Otherwise, not bad. Would've liked more analyzing and less summarization.

  • yup you got it! good job. i've been concerned if the new movei will have the depth of the old series. glad you pointed this out. I guess I'll find out friday.

  • they didnt preserve vulcan!!!!!!!!

  • your clips are innaccurate.

  • yeah

  • I have to say that this was possibly the best movie I've ever seen. Definitely the best Star Trek. Best speicial effects I've ever seen. An amazing plot which was complicated but easy enough to follow. Amazing acting and actors that looked like originals. O, and it was also really funny. =D

  • Damn ... you are so off with the plot.

  • I have no plans to see it, or buy/rent the dvd.

  • Your gonna be missing out on a great movie.

  • You think so? I've been constantly disappointed with Star Trek since First Contact.

  • First Contact was pretty sweet.

  • I hate everything that has to do with Star Trek except this movie.

  • Same here. Movie was great.

Everything else, boring as hell to me.

But see this movie! It rocks!

  • I don't think anyone's going to revive star trek. Nowadays, a trek fanatic is like an Weaboo in Japan. If you're either, you're a nerd. And this is coming from a nerd. Come on, Trekkies were the original costplayers.

  • true true

  • the greatest movie eveeeeeeeeeeer!!!

  • You know. I think I haven't watched a Star Trek movie ever since I was a really, really small kid. Maybe I should go and see it.

  • SPOILER ALERT!!! The original actor for Spock makes a Cameo in the movie!!

  • more than a cameo he plays a big role in the plot

  • Did you Record This Before you saw the Film?

  • its a PREVIEW review, meaning its a review that is based upon officially released details, rumors from somewhat credible sources and preview footage, not a review based on an actual viewing of the entire film.

You can expect some mixing up of the order events happen in (for instance the mid-warp transport beam scene comes after vulcan's destruction rather than prior to it) and some predictions about plot elements that will not turn out to be correct.

  • The fun part is in seeing what he's wrong about and right about, in comparing his predictions to your own, and, at least in my opinion in this case, being pleasantly surprised when you watch it and find that most of the negative predictions don't turn out to be true.

Tho it is still fun to heckle a film when the negative predictions all turn out to be true too.

  • You are off on the story and things will never be the same if one follows this new timeline.

Inderstand that the destruction fo the ship and the killing of many who should not have died cause things to change from that time one.

See you movie. Trust me and the fans who have seen the movie.

  • I actually saw it the other day, but didn't want to change my original "predicitions"for this preview review. I love the movie and like what they did overall.

  • Dude, go see the movie, you won't be sorry. It's not made just for money dude!

  • you were wrong on many things on the story. just trust me go see the movie

  • yeah, it's not a remake, it's actually a spin off set in an alternate dimension... it's pretty awesome; not a masterpiece, i hold it on par with films like iron man; just simple fun...THATS AWESOME!!

  • Except that star trek isn't supposed to be on par with things like iron man, it's supposed to be better than that and be like what the mpc was talking about towards the end of this vid.

  • lol where this scene occurs :P still same picture.

  • oops...wonder why it passed the filters? Oh well.

  • they restarted the entire star trek universe by that time travel story.

Spock says that Neros presence changes their destinies, or something like that

  • sweet!

  • great video as always!

  • Thanks...I wish I couldn't put the vdeo part up...oh well, not the end of the world.

  • I like to personally thank Xenu for your ongoing movie reviews....Keep on uploading
