This great song is yet another indication that Buddy would have explored many styles of music had he lived. The piano player CW Kendall wrote this cool piece of soul jazz.
The reason why they were short was it can take more on an album also they were great when in concert because they went with other singers and had only cretin amount of time to get there gigs in. Short but very sweet songs
DANCE DANCE DANCE you fools! If you DARE! Elvis did! Took EVERYTHING from stuff like this! Remember - LOUISVILLE BOB? Ricky-Ticky piana? Little Richard; they ALL were doing this - laughing their a##es off! Off the beat - but hey - who cares? More, more.....ha,ha,ha
@LinaStroppiani YES! You can & obviously have, and I commend your excellent taste.....I'm a STRAIGHT OLD Granpa & have sincerely LOVED Buddy for 54+ years, but I fell in love with Jelly Roll Morton & Frederic Chopin, both of whom died B4 I was born, + Bessie Smith & Ma Rainey, Amelita Galli-Curci & Mozart too!! Keep listening to Buddy's vast canon of work & tell everyone you know to do the same.....we MAY then ALL spread the word & help to improve on today's awful offerings! x
This is beautiful and obviously very influential. As I listen I can heat the music to Keep your Hands to Yourself by The Geargia Satelittes... Amazing.
Hey-thanks for Little Baby. Great piano. History about song, & time/place recorded, etc? Also on the photos at end of vid, who's the guy on the right (black guy on left also) with the big hair? I was 14 when Buddy died. We were all slain. Young folks don't realize how on fire we were with rocknroll back then....it was a real THING, historically, & we knew it. We were ALL shakin', all over. I mean. And Buddy was a remarkable genius talent: songwriter & singer. RARE.
@msmarvelousmo Amen to all this from "We were all slain.." ~So we were, and I've never fully recovered; I was just 16 'TDTMDied' and had NEVER had SUCH an awful thing happen in my short life. I know I [must] speak for millions when I say there'll just NEVER be another BH, he was SO.oo utterly UNIQUE. Like Shakespeare's KH1V "Men who were abed will hold their manhoods cheap who were not with us on Crispin's Day" [from memory!LOL] but we who WERE 'there' with BUDDY know HOW it was. BEAUTIFUL x
You´re right. Every Buddy Holly songs seems to be too short. But his songs could run for 5 minutes and still would be too short. But i cut these songs on my computer to made them longer. It works... This song is one of my favourits, but to me as an Big Buddy Holly Fan, every song is one of my favourits...

songs had to be kept under a certian limit 2 minutes i think, especially if they thought it would get radio time.

Is it true that Vi Petty played the piano solo on this? If so, she was one ROCKIN'lady!

At 7 th of September, I have been in Lubbock to honour Buddy. Met Larry and Travis his brothers. They made fine music. Buddy Holly was great.
