  • @pilsener13 Correct no vtec means one less mechanical part to fail, this is recommended for race cars producing high horsepower also vtec uses oil to actuate the third lobe on the cam which lowers the oil pressure in the process, which is not that helpful for a turbo powered car.

  • Mustang has a low redline of about 6000 RPM, turbo is pointless.

    S2000 has a redline of about 9000 RPM, so a turbo would be efficiently utilized.

    You would need to heavily modify a V8 to get 9000 RPM out of it. Just pointing out why people use superchargers on V8's, and how the turbo is more efficient. Nothing against a Mustang.

  • Why do the V8's have so much trouble making 500WHP while these S2000 4-bangers make 500+WHP easy? It's because the V8 lacks efficiency. The wasteful hog.

    Honda has been #1 for years when it comes to HP per liter.

    And FYI, Honda's are dynoed in Wheel HP, while a lot of V8's are dynoed in Crank HP. Basically, a 500 WHP Honda engine is actually making about 600 Crank HP give or take.

  • @jobejahova LOl eveyone rates w/ crank HP Ive owned GSR's and they are not putting down more then what they say stock by more then 5-/5+ give or take/ climate ect. And just a little FYI im not sure if your aware of this but v8s have been known to put down over 1000hp/1000tq Per liter, YES PER LITER.. They are called funny cars... You shouldnt bash either car because they both have pros and Cons.

  • @209BoOsTFrEaKsRT I don't see funny cars being a daily driver, or even a weekend driver. And yes, modified Honda's are dynoed with a machine that measures Wheel HP with the engine in the car. Most built V8's are dynoed on a machine that measures Crank HP before the engine is even put in the car. Always exceptions though.

    And yes, Honda is #1 for HP per liter from the factory. How many brand factories make a funny car? lol drag race cars are not made on an assembly line, no offense.

  • @jobejahova I guess that depends on the vehicle because Ive seen TEGS, S2k's ect dyno a lot lower then what there rated from the factory I know every motor is differs but none ever tend to put down what there rated at... Except srt4's they are known to break the #'s of what there rated.. Only American cars are funnys but there call based on a dodge factory motor that was intended to be DD's there just modified... Honda has the most cars putting out the highest hp per liter?

I could really car less about hp per liter all I know is most of there cars barley get out of the 14/15s stock.. At the end of the day any and every honda is slow w/o force induction and lucky to get 13/12s with a huge N/A build but to each is there own..

I know plenty putting down 500 off the bottle on ls1 tech that DD there cars. Some come factory with over that... Turbo them and your talking well over 1000hp/TQ and its not like a honda with 1000hp and 400Tq LOL.. The new 5.0 is also a well designed motor that would put any factory honda in its place. Toyota/mitsu/subie/Gm/ford factory beasts...

  • @BucSteven the engine will have to be compatable with e85 first. e85 in a regular is hard on the seals that are made for regular unleaded fuel engines, also e85 is not that efficent anyways cause it takes more to produce the same power as regular petrol

  • i dont know about s2000's but i saw an sr20 on the dyno last night with a 30r making 400whp on stock internals at 19psi...sr20's can do 500 whp before the engine needs upgrades...dont talk about a car when u know nothing about it

  • I disagree with the need to change internals. I know s friend of mine has been running a gt35r on stock internals making 500+ rwhp. He's been at that for about a year now with no problems. Just take care of your car and it will take care of you.

    with a T25 going up to 15lbs might be enough for stock internals to take and even make around 240-250 Max HP a bit more with T28 even then you need to change a few oil lines to help aid it a bit better, any more power than that Internals need to be changed bcuz it will not support the boost

  • X2^^ , SR20DET will NOT make 450whp on stock internals, it might go as far as 240 -250 with 15lbs max on stock T25 and stock internals a bit more with a T28 but anything more than that you need a bigger turbo and you NEED to change internals...

  • Its about 70 hp less at the wheels completely stock. Up the boost and it can be 300. I know what EFI is. News flash retard I'm talking about a new fuel rail with some larger 90lb/hr injectors and then some fuel pumps to push enough fuel. sr20de 120whp. sr20det 230whp. Your retarded and kno nothing about sr20's. its a Very strong motor and can handle 450whp stock no problem. plenty of videos on here to prove it. Built they have made up to 900whp. vid of that also here to prove it. search sr20vet

  • I won't get into this very much, but I do know a thing or two about SR20 and many other japanese engines. Pushing 450hp out of a SR is possible with stock internals, but it is far from reliable.

  • Woohoo, see but it depends which one you run if its a gtir sr20 it will be a little stronger than a det. However if its a de that you turbo and are making 450whp  it will blow up in a few weeks maybe less. I think I finally fucked my de at almost 300whp but it had a hard bad life. Basically I took it too redline all day as I had dd to drive if it blew up. Going fully built asap! :) 500whp here I come.

It happens all the time. a stock 2jz can handle 700whp and it starts at what 300whp? soo it gained 400whp just with a turbo and fuel injection maybe some nice engine management. wow o cool you have just been proven wrong. Another motor my favorite the sr20. Stock makes about 120whp but add a turbo some injectors engine management and you can make 450whp on the stock block and people have made more. Build the motor and the numbers go as high as your wallet can spend.
