@comanche119 not this exact version. but theres one similar to this, just upgrades in graphics and units. still a free game and its online. you just have to download the spring engine. just type in spring 1944 or spring total annihilation in google and youll be on your way.

That requires a mixed-mode disc image, which you can make with most common CD\DVD burning utilities. The music tracks need to be added as CD audio.

u need to open ports 2300-2400 TCP UDP and port 47624 TCP UDP. Use portforward DOT com to help you out..

yes first make the IP that your router gives to your computer static so that the portforwarding will stay even upon reboot. Otherwise your router will deal out a different IP for you each time you reboot. Works well for me.

The music on TA reminds me so much of Gustav Holst and his masterwork - The Planets, I think Jeremy Soule certainly had it in mind when writing the music, and I even think some sections were used in this game

Ah TA's soundtrack, this is before Soule fell into mediocrity with Oblivion and the rest of his uninspired fantasy drivel - he was truly the master back then. He really should have stuck to RTS game music, he had the greatest knack of delivering the perfect sense of scope and destruction.

Games like this never cease to amaze anyone, even some RTS haters. This game has a place in history. This game was the first RTS to NOT be turn-base/really fucking sucky gameplay. The best part about this game, other than everyone AWESOME about it except this one thing that I've noticed since 1998 on its release, is that each unit has to seperate mechanics and systems. The attack-half will target onto enemies and shoot on the move, while the walker half will keep moving. Epic music too. :D

Supreme Commander ruined all that... They took it, upgrade by 10 fold, then they put on the market so that anyone that really had the computer with the power of the U.S. Military War Simulator, acting out battles on its own (just a side note there).

Ah, crap man. I downloaded it, and felt so HAPPY to finally be reuinted with the one RTS I could play at the age of 4. Although the mod I played was pretty gay and I couldn't find any other one, my computer can't run it!!

My game was more than laggy at the lowest graphical settings. I hate that my computer can barely run anything new.

That's why my mom's gonna buy me a new comp if I get an "A" in my classes this session. <3 I mean, that's not the reason, but I'm still gonna get it :P

SC is not as intensive as TA, a lot of different units, everyunit is special has an history on TA, from the peewee to the Krogoth but SC .. ?? .. Siege Bot, mobile arti & T4 ... WOOHOO

u gotta admit, SC is more intense. It requires waaaay too much micromanagement. Also, SC units have a much bigger history, try reading the manual, if u have SC.

It's funny... at a time when most other major PC releases were using MIDI, TA had a full orchestra to record its soundtrack... A 33MB game that, to this day, has one of the greatest soundtracks of any game out there.

the easy way to extract the Audio, is to put the game into ur CD Rom drive, and wen the game about to start, cancel it..then go onto windows media player, drag the CD Rom "icon" into the media player...then jus rip the CD..:)..worked for me.:)

No metal maps meh Metal maps are for fast quick games I prefer them.

As for normal maps are good but often turns into a base war.

the exact opposite.. non metal games are much more quick tempered and challenging when you must secure most of the metal to yourself. As in metal maps you can just get the metal from your "base". Play me to find out. Playing metal maps gives no overall skill.

True controling the map on non-metal maps is a worthy skill of a RTS gamer I can do it myself but I prefer Metal since you can just spam out units and often it turns into a huge battle. As for standard maps usealy can get pritty slow game play if your fighting people that have no idea what their doing and just build a shit load of defenses.
