  • No need to quit haneef82. Just give them some room if possible. I saw 14 while hiking through the park last year. You may want to carry an air horn. They are loud and will scare the bear. If one does attack, fight back as hard as you can.

  • saw 6 bears over there today..bears4life

  • They ARE wonderful! And SMART! Thanks for the post and may God bless you and all Bears! :-)

  • went to the shenandoah natl park last friday at around 7:00 pm to do a small hike at Compton's mountain (?). Saw a big black bear roaming about 40 yards to my right. It didn't see me. I walked back down the trail with my back towards the bear. After 5 minutes of walking down, i noticed fresh bear paw marks on the trail. Also bear feces.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid to go hiking anymore. Is there something to do if a bear comes to attack? Time for a new hobby *sigh*

  • apmoyers -- Thank you for the comment!

  • Awesome video.

  • Thanks for the comment Buddy! Ya, I think so too, it's a great video, I have seen a Bear (our Mama of 2 cubs and a Mom of 1 cub) scratch themselves, but that's different then a full cleaning job like this Boar did, I've never seen that before this time...

  • Excellent video! Not many people get to see a wild bear cleaning itself.
