  • He does have a beautiful voice but so does David pack of Ambrosia. Both my top singers of all.

  • Beautiful!! ; ) x

  • Allan is such an underrated singer. Hooray for harmony.

  • Old School. So honest. Songwriting was the norm. No Mtv ... No Vh1 ... Just Solid Music. I could watch this forever.

  • oOOoooohhh yesssss nice music of the 70's LOOOVVVVEEE IIIITTTTT!!!!

  • Great lead vocal lead by Allan Clarke and brilliant guitar licks by the much-unsung Tony Hicks. Beautiful natural harmonies, even in 2010.

Back when this song came out, I was infatuated with a girl called Marlene. I thought this song said, "Sometimes, Marlene is the air that I breathe..." It just seems so right at the time.

  • IIIMMMM A CREEEEEEP

    IIIMMMM A WWWEEEEIIRRDDOOO

  • @makingofasoul Incase you didn't know, the songwriters for this were and still are credited partially for Creep. The two songs share the same soft rock style :) <3

  • Tony Hicks was a doll

  • Such incredible lyrics. Wow you could feel life force energy within the music. Its about love...its all about Love. 60's Generation got that part perfectly correct. The rest must also learn..

  • Mo, all I need is you. Call me!

  • I first learned about this song from The Little Rascals movie when Alfalfa sings this to Darla...

  • He is the best

  • @SnugglySara,I'm with you, gorgeous man, hope they get together for the 50th anniversary this year...

  • THe very best lead singer of ALL time,Allan Clarke!!Beautiful voice, love him and the Hollies.

Great memories of my youth ...

  • @sueli9011 I'd love to do him!

  • @sueli9011 butter than freddie mercury or robert plant(?). i think not...better...i think less...don't pit classic vs classic in ultimatums...it only makes you look dumb ass...nes pas?

  • This song is a masterpiece. To think I first heard it in a commercial in 90's. That strangely enough seems to be where all the good music is now. The radio has hits that are completely commercialized and controlled by 2 corporations. The t.v plays the greater portion of truly creative music on commercials. It's topsy turvy land in 2012!

  • If you listen to the base, it kind of does resemble Creep...or vice versa...This sounds more loving. Creep is quite melancholy and depressing. Creep is my favourite song because I prefer 90's music, but it introduced me to this. Now, I have nothing but utter respect for the Hollies and this amazing song. I love both songs. So all Creep trolls, please get over it. If anything, Radiohead copied the rythm of this song. besides, you can only hear the similarities if you have sharp hearing.

  • They r soooooo good and this is not the only song that was brilliant

  • One and a half million wiews! Thanks to everyone!

  • @cartamas Good musical taste always get lots of followers.....Congrats!!

  • @cartamas Quality always shines through :)

  • @ricocchet

....through the decades as well. I 'd put this up against any of the crap since 1986.

  • Brazilians congratulation. This was the most popular international music in our contry for many months. Everybody loves The Hollies ´til now.

  • Its called history repeating itself OyLesha....happens more often than anyone's aware. Get off your high horse. Because these chord progressions may hae been used before as well. I love both songs, by the way. Also, learn to spell before trying to come off elder and smart.

  • God, I love these song. That chorus always hits home! Great vocal harmonies and this and He Ain't Heavy..... always reminds me of my grandfather. R.I.P. </3

  • The Beatles broke new ground with their new sound, although their lyrics were trite. The Hollies sang songs with meaningful lyrics and beautiful harmony. They are my all-time favourite group..

  • @Stephen17249 The Beatles lyrics were "trite?" You may not care for the Beatles, or you may prefer the Hollies (as you say, they are you all-time favorite group), but anyone who has listened to Beatles lyrics and knows the definition of the word, "trite," also knows the Beatles lyrics are anything but trite.

  • the good old tyme, y dream olso a whe maverles

  • I always told my friends that creep sounded like this song, but I had no idea that Radiohead actually had to pay them money for it.

  • Awww,,this song i just want to go and kiss the one i love..aweeeeeeeeeeeee

  • why some people compare this with creep?¿? i dont find the similarity.. in addition creep is a sad song and this is more cheerful

  • @lukoutube Radiohead had to pay royalty to this band for using the same cords in the middle of the song.

  • @lukoutube same chord progression

  • They're so fucking special...

    ...I wish they were special.

  • Guys, even Radiohead know this song sounds a lot like Creep, the writers of this song are also credited as writers for Creep.

  • This song was part of my childhood history

  • I never noticed how alike creep and this song sound.

  • Albert Hammond original... but a hit for the Hollies

  • Creep! I dont think so different song and different time.

  • where are you terry farrell?

  • adamtr100 this was actually written by Albert Hammond

  • I never listen to music like this but the 1st time I heard this was in a coffee shop in Amsterdam and I thought it had the BEST LYRICS EVER! This is the 1st time hearing it since and I still think its awesome

  • Man, .... I got no words ... Just beautiful

  • the kid in the white looks like he's 15...

  • This was done at the time that Alan Clarke and Tony Hicks were really at odds with each other over Clarke's desire to go solo. "Long Cool Woman in a Red Dress" was supposed to be Clarke's first solo single though Hicks kept him to his contract and made it a Hollie's song. Notice in this song, Alan Clarke doing his best to ignore Tony Hicks. They kinda made up later though.

  • creep is a great song, and so is this. it's how you rip off, as john lennon said. they gave the hollies credit, which is actually pretty amazing considering most rip offs don't do that.

  • I'm sorry...this doesn't sound like Creep at all: the chorus is totally different. The only similarity is with the bass/drum beat during parts of the verses. Is that seriously enough to get co songwriting credit nowadays? Wow...

  • radiohead is shit

  • amazing song:)

  • Creeps have no Idea the music back in 1974 was pure , no big computer to make shit face wusies to sing out of key,.sharp.or flat and tracks added to make the singers today sound like pros in 1974.....there no new music it's all redo's of people who could read music and carry a tune...real pissers, this is live on stage, why am I even trying to tell jerks about something they won't understand anyway...

  • 'CAUSE I'M A CREEEEEEEEP, I'M A WEEEEEIRDOOOOOOO

  • I adore this. :)

  • This was written by the Everly Brothers. This is a cover. Radiohead where 30 years after this.

  • The Pierces' amazing cover on BBC Radio 2 brought me here.

  • @aintnobody94 radio 2 for the win

  • Great song.

  • Looking at this again yes, it's true I simply adore Allan Clarke's voice - but he sure as hell did have, as we Scots say "a good conceit of himself", didn't he?!

  • great song...bad pants...

  • Damn, I love Alan Clarke's voice - totally unique and distinctive, utterly gorgeous! The foundation for the Hollies' terrific harmonies...

  • I listened to this on a transister radio on AM KTKT in Tucson Az.

  • RIFF!?

  • yeah creep

  • Hot damn! I had forgotten how wonderful this song was. So grateful it was posted. :)

  • Obama is president, does that answer your question?

  • Strewth, he's lost his shirt

  • @MasherBrum Nah, I found out Wat it is. It's a Mapleglo 450/12. A 360/12 would be the fatter semi-hollow guitar

  • Yeah.....it's a free country....write what you will, but not everyone appreciates the vulgar comments that are written. Would be nice to enjoy some good music without seeing comments from those that don't consider anyone but themselves.

  • For you cunts flapping your gums about this sounds like creep by radiohead or whatever get the fuck outta her, raidohead are shit and the hollies are a thousand times better!!!!!!

  • @FRIEDBREAD62

is that you mollie m ?

  • @FRIEDBREAD62 Wonderful... thanks so much for your eloquent literary input..it's quotes like yours that make me appreciate people with some class.. and that AIN'T you bud

And PS, learn to spell, then you can expand your verbal joy so much better

  • nm i looked it up

  • Who or what is a CREEP?

  • For those who doesn't know nothing about that, it was written by the great composer Albert Hammond. It's one of the songs of my life. I heard it 15 years ago while i was listening an Adult-Contemporary radio that is not on the air anymore. But I think I'm the only one who thinks this song is not like "Creep". Sorry kids, my english is not so good even.

  • amo, lembro de meu marido quando nos conhecemos e estamos juntos a 34 anos ---Palmeira --Parana--Brasil.

  • amo, lembro de meu marido quando nos conhecemos e estamos juntos a 34 anos

  • Making love with you, has left me

    peaceful warm and tired.

What more could I ask, there's nothing

    left to be desired....nana nap!!!

  • This song is fabulous.

  • Yea, Simply perfect NOT Simply Red!! J X.

  • Very beutiful

  • Cool, the Hollies made their own version of Creep by Radiohead. Awesome.

  • @hugoestr No, this is the original song that Creep is based on.

  • @CaptMarvelous Wow! Thanks for the correction. I should I seen the date. Thanks again :D

  • @hugoestr

    so fucking special, isnt it?

  • @biskutnation It is actually pretty cool. I like Creep, and Creep brought me to this song, which is even better.

  • @hugoestr

Your math skills are excellent. You should be an engineer. =D

  • @PyshcoCuckooBird I am. :D I just missed the year there. :P

  • @hugoestr how could be that possible if this song was recorded in 1974? Are saying that Radiohead's Tom Yorke is about 66 years old +? Please, think carefully about what you're writing first lol

  • @blackarawak83 haha. Yeah, I deserve the riffing :P I totally missed the year in the title :)

  • @hugoestr Just take a look at their clothes and the sound and video's quality! You don't even have to see the date to notice that this is clearly an oldie, haha

  • I love this song so much

  • Eu prefiro a versão de Chitãozinho e Xororó,não é que ruim, mas que chitãozinho e Xororó dão show de interpretação.

  • my favorite song,,this and just one look

  • Fantástico!!! Quantas recordações esta canção traz. Grato pela postagem deste belo video.

  • Carefree days. Great music.

  • 1,483,713 views that says it all Allan and the Hollies are off the hook ... the best!!!

  • Nothing wrong with heavy metal, but this is my wind down music, relaxing, and dare i say, better than metal lol

  • among the best ever

  • Absolutely the best! That is Music! Who wants to listen to Heavy metal and/or rap? that is a crime-not music. Music makes you happy. Am so glad to have fond music memories. Oldies RULE!

  • sends chills down my spine....Now that's what i call MUSİC...

  • This song is one of the very, very, very few things I like about the 70s.

  • OyLeesha: Radiohead did Creep as an homage to this song, and they acknowledge the writer of this song on the album that Creep was released on. So you are very correct!!!

  • d+

  • @estacionarciso d+, the fuck?

  • My personal favorite video ever!

  • 59 persons don't need to breathe nor fall in love

  • Yet another song that touches the soul and means so much when you are in the arms of the one you love

  • a REAL classic

  • i don't think it was intentional. anyway, radiohead's version is better.

  • @AnonHateMachine No, it's not.

  • This song was from my first summer as a mid teenager, getting my first job in summer before junior year in HS, So much to appreciate back then. Let us not forget the heroes back then (and now) : Veterans from Vietnam ! Thank you all Vets during this week of US Veteran's DAY .

  • who cares about the similarities between the songs? ... I think both are great

  • Thank you for this, my darling Peter. I feel the same. sigh.

  • Pure greatness.

  • No wonder it's the only Radiohead song I liked.

  • it is a fair point to make this and creep by radiohead sound similar, because they both use the same chord progression, but theyre in different keys. that being said, this was made about 20 years before creep was released. (and for your own benefit go listen to more radiohead songs) hope that cleared everything up :)

  • There sure are allot of dumb people out their...How could this be a CREEP rip-off??

This song was released in '74..so if anything RADIOHEAD ripped off the HOLLIES.

  • @MrBIGFATSHADY Hammond and Hazlewood were given co writing credit for RH's "Creep"....

  • @MrBIGFATSHADY i know. you'd think people would have better wits. obviously not.

  • @MrBIGFATSHADY anyone here knows why radiohead can borrow heavilly from other artists and don't be paned for it but other english bands like coldplay or starsailor can do anything barely similar without being condenmed by radiohead fans?

  • great voice

  • What model Rickenbacker is tony using?

  • @hofner176

Rickenbacker 360/12 - It looks like the Maplego finish, but not quite sure.

  • The best singer of any group, of any time: the amazing Allan Clarke! Love the Hollies.

  • 56 people are bieber fans

  • @chainsaw461 LMAO good one lol

  • My voice is a little bit better.

  • CREEP!?

  • @OyLesha Creep is very strongly inspired by this song. The people who wrote this song are actually listed as co-writers of Creep because of having such a strong similarity.

  • @OyLesha This song was recorded 25 yrs B4 Radiohead's Creep.. I dont understand why all the Creep Trolls?? Or maybe they are retards and cant do basic math.

  • @TheBigfatshady I'm pretty sure this was written by albert hammond in 1972 , and creep was written in 1992 , now i'm no rocket scientist , but basic maths tells me that this is only 20 years . I'm not a radiohead fan , but i like both songs , the point is that, before passing comment where you use words like " retards " and " basic maths " , you should double check and make sure you have the facts right .

  • @TheBigfatshady Radio Ga Ga totally ripped Creep off this... no argue no question stupid if you do...

  • @TheBigfatshady lololol laugh sooo hard your right and ts true just love it! Creeps even acts like buddy here lololol

  • @OyLesha no.

  • the old amoco add,,they got paid well to help end the world!!!!!

  • Tanx a Lot youtube, I was looking for this song, since a long time ago, greetings from north-east area of mex.

  • creep de radiohead...se parece un poco no???

  • @tahuantinsuyo1 Radiohead y Hollies comparten credito the "Creep" porque Radiohead escribio "Creep" con esta cancion en la cabeca.

  • was 9 years old when this song came, still a great GREAT song cool ty for post it

  • I was a transplanted kid in 74. What memories .......wish I could go back.
