I think you're forgetting that getting elected at all is his main priority. If he doesn't get elected there will likely be genocide and civil war in Iraq, along with countless other nightmares for many people, if Obama gets in. Remember Vietnam? The left got us out of there too early and the communists proceeded to starve and kill about 1.5 million people after we left. Just because they are not American does not mean they are of less value as people.

Listen--this is NOT Vietnam. In so many ways. The Iraqi army stood down in 2003. We've been training their army for 3-4 years now. Their govt. is not fighting us--they've had an elected govt. for 4 years that we approve of. We are not napalming villages--we've built schools, projects, etc. This is an OCCUPATION--and their own govt and president says that they are ready to handle their own country--working together with a orderly transition. This is NOT VIETNAM--and our troops know it.
