  • it realy says something when the only ones who want to change the world for the better are the ones who are condemned by society. The Metalheads, were the only hope for the world \m/

  • Embracing the truth with gingerbread!

  • going to see these guys at the 9:30 club in DC in march, i cannot wait. I wonder if they could just play the glorious burden album front to back oh man that would be epic.

  • We won't forget about you Matt .

  • ICED EARTH IS THE BEST HEAVY METAL BAND OF USA, and Matt Barlow’s voice, God That guy sing as angels (or demons) don't get me wrong of course that Ripper and Stu are amazing too, even more powerfull in the case of Owens, but Barlow...there's something magic about him

  • The song is very good but the last (more or less) 3 minutes are INCREDIBLE

  • the voice..

  • This is a great song made turn in my life what will never regret :)

  • this song hooks you from the intro to its exit. You just can't stop listening. Its fucking awesome.

  • This is my favorite song from the Crucible of Man. The new Iced Earth is out in 4 days. I don't have any problems with Stu Block but I wish Matt were still in the band. I will definitely get the new album.

  • @Northwro hey, so what you think of the new album. All things considered, I think its AWESOME!!!

  • @drizzt102 I got it Tuesday and it's killer. To me, song for song, Dystopia is the best thing that Iced Earth has done since The Dark Saga. I wondered what Stu Blocks vocals would sound like, but they totally kick ass from start to finish.

  • @Northwro I know. I honestly wondered if he would work, but it seems like Iced Earth just knows how to find vocalists that will give them exactly the sound they need depending on the album. What is this, now their 4th or 5th in the revolving door of frontmen. And despite that, they continue to surprise and please musically.

  • @Northwro For me, it's Horror Show. There is not a single song on that album that I dislike. Now with that out of the way, Stu is amazing and Dystopia is a great album. My favourite song would have to be Dark City.

  • What an amazing song!!Woww

  • 6 people prefer to be lead to the slaughter.

  • Best song off the album and one of all-time favorite Iced Earth songs. Truly an epic!

  • damn ill never see iced earth with Matt Barlow live again sucks so much

  • It's saddening that Matt is leaving, but I would love to hear Stu sing this track.

  • why the fuck does iced earth have so little views >:(

  • @TheFooJames cause idiots are to busy watching Justin Beiber and other crap. and unfortunately the world is full of stupid people.

  • Man, I love Barlow's voice and this song is damn good! ICED EARTH \m/

  • 0:00 - 6:40 -> Genius

    6:41 - end -> Genius masterpiece

  • Dude totally sounds like David Bowie.

  • ever sinced i played brutal legend there was so many awesome heavy metal songs im trying to get into so do any of you guys know any good modern heavy metal bands or is it ture in the begining of brutal legend they say metal is dead?

  • @triedge763

    lamb of god

    trivium

    shadows fall

those are the only ones i can think of right now

  • @triedge763 i know this isn't a real band but dethklok is alright, and so is children of bodom ,and many other good modern metal but metalheads are usually to dumb to know that some modern metal is alright

  • @triedge763 Metal as it was, dead....there was something magical about Metal in the 80's that few bands can encapsulate now.

Iced Earth is one of those few bands, and that's why I love them so goddamn much.

  • @666danielclark666 When Iced Earth, and Blind Guardian are both gone, Metal will have died as we know it, and only the pathetic attempts of further generations will remain.

  • @Dragostini420 In a way its true. I mean, I won't lie, my fav band is Iron Maiden (for the love of god, i hope i don't start a flame war with that) but Iced Earth does something that even my icons can't. They bridge the gaps. Instead of one style (I'm aware they are defined as Power Metal) They do them all. From the fast paced murder of your fingers and vocal cords of Thrash to the slower and more beautiful tones of opera style, "Ghost of Freedom as my reference." and all the kinds in between

  • @drizzt102 I agree, but I really wouldn't even just call them power metal, they have alot of thrash in earlier albums, and the new album is purely awesome, I need to get out and buy it soon.

  • i love iced earth. when i was a metal head there were my favourite by far. demons & wizards are great too.

  • matt barlow left the band, they didnt kick him out, or just randomly replace him. Matt left to spend more time with his wife and family. Which is completely understandable. Best of luck to him, and best of luck to stu block. Into eternity is a great band and Stu will bring what he has to offer over to Iced Earth. The band won't be the same but that's okay, Time breeds change. Accept it or be overcome.... I C E D E A R T H ! ! ! ! ! METAL FOREVER!

  • why did they replace Barlow, Stu Block is great, but like Tim Owens he just didnt fit like Matt.

  • @ninjajuice3000 they didn't "replace" him, he left. so new singer or no more IE.

  • Beautiful song.

  • 5 people blah blah blah SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT THAT SHIT

  • This is probably the 2nd or third best song on either album competing with ten thousand strong and only beaten by the clouding. But the original something wicked trilogy blew both albums out of the water.

  • 5 people don't care about the human race's future.

  • A f*cking masterpiece of a song!!!Nice post!!!

  • 5 people disliked that there was no love it button

  • my fav song from the new album, would be nice if demons & wizards get together again for a new album

  • Epic song. *Bows down to Matt Barlow.* I'm not worthy.

  • their best song by my opinion

  • 5 dislikes = 5 retards

  • Good Bye Matt :(

  • @Laufeyjarsonr why did he leave?

  • @eddietheironmaiden1

    family reasons

  • @Laufeyjarsonr I will definitely miss him. Iced Earth just isn't the same without him. He'll be back, though. But for now at least he did this one final album and left us with quite possibly the best I.E. song ever. This being it. Love this one.

  • ...masterpiece...

  • hey is john shaffer related to munky shaffer of korn?

  • @sigvampir2 Nah, as that would be Jon Schaffer, and James "Munky" Shaffer. Unless ofcourse, you consider evolution theory fused with chaos theory fused with the law of the conservation of energy to be a reasonable way to define the workings of the universe, in that case they are most definitely family, but then again, we'd be just as much related. Or me and my dog. I like dogs.

  • hey um could you send me the picture from the video cuz i really like it! thnx

  • If you'd just look Look inside yourselves You'll find the answers to your pain The hardest road The hardest road to enlightenment Presents a constant test Of your resolve Time for you Time for you is running out The human race must evolve Must evolve \m/
  • @jedinightwing sooo epic \m /

  • INCRIVEL!!!

  • when i die, this is going to be my song

  • One Word - EPIC!

  • @Hobbit930 I say stfu. On topic: Thanks for the song Ritchy.

  • Heavy Metal isn't about good sex drugs and good times plastic bannanna phony balony rock and roll...

Throughout the cold war heavy metal artists picked up the only weapons they had pen and guitar and they wielded them to rally the good and the just against tyranny with the power and honour of Excalibur.

  • Who is this powerful man in their songs? I'm having trouble following the story, but I just started listening to this album.

  • @KinStrategy The "Something Wicked" Storyline is about the Setian race and the war between Humans and Setians. The man is Set Abominae, the Setian messiah/avenger/redeemer.

PS: one of the most epic songs ever. Good enough to have the title tattoed on your chest.

  • @Deimtime It's the best explaination for religion that I've ever seen. I've even had the opportunity to speak over the phone with Jon Schaffer about the subject of this concept, what was his inspiration for writing it, how he feels about it. His reply was that it just came to him one evening in 1997 and he wrote most of the story in one setting.

I told him that out of everything I've came across, that this makes the most sense of what is happening in this world, and where we truly came from.

  • @CrissKaos83

    What exactly did he state?

  • These guys know the game that our lives around us has taken in the last century or so, this song speaks many volumes on what really needs to be done but so many people are naive thanks to media and alike. We're so conditioned from programming, docile from our food and water but all you have to do, is go in depth in your mind and you'll see where the real truth lies.

  • best band going around, also like pyramaze alot, matt sing there last album immortal, he sings amazing in that album, hes just an amazing singer, deffs the the best singer out of all the metals

  • "Can't you see what's plain as day

It's always been there inside of you

One saving grace that's hard to face

Embracing the truth will change your fate

It's up to you and the path you choose

To be led to the slaughter or lead the way

The quest for light, a worthwhile fight

Will you have what it takes?

    Come what may"

  • ICED EARTH FOREVER

  • there is a guy trying to argue with me saying that iced earth isn't power metal. iced earth is power metal anybody else agree?

  • @Fluffypopcicle Tell him to read Iced Earth lyrics and then read Dream Evil or Hammerfall lyrics. They're all cheesy as shit. Iced Earth is power metal.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Yes power metal, heavy metal / thrash.. but yes power metal for sure!

  • @Fluffypopcicle yes their newer shit is power metal but i think night of the stormrider, iced earth, burnt offerings and the dark saga are a mix of Thrash/Power Metal

  • @6The6Deathbanger6 Either way...every album is a masterpiece.

  • @CrissKaos83 yes!

  • Fellow Iced Earth fans, I implore you to compare this song with When the Night Falls, Travel in Stygian, Question of Heaven, Dante's Inferno, The Wicked Trilogy, or Phantom Opera Ghost. This song is an epic fail, IMHO. It's not the worst song on the album, but it's still not good. The lyrics are feel-good CRAP and they don't even make sense in the story. Where'd Set Abominae get a heart allofasudden? Fuck this album, it's the worst in Jon Schaffer's discography. Avoid like a plague.

  • @dduval59

Technically he didn't get a heart. He still despises the human race and while he sees potential in them, he still plans on destroying them and to me that's even worse. So even the slightest slip-up and the human race will become extinct.

Plus Jon stated he has more songs that continue the story and it isn't as happy as you think.

  • DUDE THIS SONG IS SO AWSOME IT JUST MAKES ME WANNA GO OUTSIDE AND KICK A TREE!!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE THAT HIPPIES

  • 5 ppl are just so baffeled by the awesomeness of this song they missed the like button and hit the dislike button

  • I gotta say, I love all of Iced Earths material with a tiny exception... Something about the chorus of "Dracula" just seems off. A lot of material off Horror Show just seemed cheesy for some reason... Love these guys though and am happy Matt is back.

  • @SephirothTheDarkener i acctually like horror show, it was alittle different from wat they normally did, but it was a good album. and yes i am also happy they got matt back haha, owens was good but he wasnt iced earth

  • This sounds more like rock than metal

  • Jon Schaffer has a new solo project called Sons of Liberty. Anyone who is an IE fan (or even a metal fan) should check it out.

  • This album's meh on instrumentals, but I like the message. Everything from mankind's downfall and what needs to be done is definitely true.

  • "The human race must evolve..." So true...

  • The best song of the album.

One of their best over all the songs they made

    One of my favorites

  • Order of the rose is the shitt! :D

  • what's ur favourite song of iced earth?????..........

    i m for i died for u and a question of heaven...

  • @q1908q My absolute favorite song has to be "The Coming Curse" That song is just Epic

  • @JPM2875

    agreed, coming curse is pwnage.

  • @GoodMetalFTW wootwoot 666

  • melancholy is their best song

  • @MaxManMarlborough Agreed, that song is epic. This song is great too, though.

  • the first albums are better

  • @jingsken yea all albums including Horror Show and before are their best work.

  • Didn't know about new album.. great song!

They kept their style completely, it's the same intensive and pure rock that I like so much from LIVE IN ATHENS.

    Barlow rocks!!

  • Shaffer is a great musician and Barlow , well he simply is the best !!!!!!!! ICED EARTH is my religion !!!!!

  • Awesome song! My favorite from the whole album!

  • I agreed Very very epic

  • yo dawgs this shit be poppin

  • Wow... I can't even describe how fucking amazing their music is! Easily my favorite band, every song I listen to makes me feel real, devastating emotion! I feel their music so much... Schaffer is a fucking genius.

  • @halo7one7 when i saw the cover for the crucible of man, the VERY first time i even saw their name really i was like wtf who the hell are they?! week later i picked up the album and haven't looked back by far one of the best bands out there!!!! my main inspiration in music and life

  • @halo7one7 that's why we listen to tunes like this - we feel them deeply - and in the sadness & pain, we are comforted in knowing that we aren't alone

  • @halo7one7 agreed..

  • cool-->amazing-->Iced Earth

  • @darkprofane: What the hell is a wanker? And just because someone likes other bands that aren't metal doesn't mean that they're "pissy".

  • basically a wanker is someone who masterbates in its normal term.

    its a very british word.

  • ICED EARTH FOR LIFE!

Been a fan for about 6 years now :)

  • Why are wankers talking about that pissy band on an Iced Earth song?

  • @darkprofane cause they are wankers as you said :P

  • That´s my personal highlight on the crucible album...great song!

  • you can always tell who the newfags are when they mention Disturbed in an Iced Earth video

    GTFO!!

  • disturbed is good but overrated, iced earth is great and original, its kindalike a heavier version of metallica with better lyrics, if you dont agree with me, then dont reply calling me a fage or anything, cuz im not criticizing the musick, they are both great bands, i just personally like iced earth more...

  • Comment removed

  • Because Iced Earth is the best!! haha yet again my opion! Plus Iced earth doesnt have monkey noises in their songs

  • Comment removed

  • Some parts of Iced Earth's album The Crucible Of Man songs have an almost very slight Metallica kind of sound to them. 'Course that could just be me.

  • This song has almost the same riff as the outro of Fade to Black by Metallica. Anyone else notice this?

  • I agree with janosmg. Iced Earth and Disturbed are both great bands, but of different genres. They should be regarded only as such.

  • retards disturbed is one genre iced hearth other dont campare the bands two bands are great ok?? ;)

  • I'm so glad that Matt is back!

T.O just wasn't working for this band.

  • @kungfujellybean Matt's just a better vocalist in general.

  • Matt is fucking great!

  • Dont compare that shit band Disturbed to the great band that is Iced Earth.

  • Disurbed is not shit there gd and so is iced earth, anyway this song rulz

  • EPIC!!!

  • I love how you post a song on youtube, and then say "Buy Iced Earth's new album!"

That being said, I'm SO glad matt barlow is back!

  • Best song of iced earth , i love it <3

  • this song is just so huge in vocal and musical talent , it will one day be rememberd as one of the many IE epic songs.. along with dante's,, dragons child, comming curse, a question of heaven, and many more if I could list them all well you would just have the list of every IE song ,, really,,

  • in my opinion this song is the second question off heaven.

one off their most underrated songs for sure i think the vocals in the ending just keep giving you chills.

  • @bluton78 damn straight

  • God I'm glad that Matt is back in the Band!

Let's see how long it will last until Schaffer kicks the next member!

I think the Album worked out really well - but must admit that all songs seem to be a bit slow!

All are written in Mid-Tempo not like "Something wicked", where you have a fast song next to a slow one (not to mention the old ones) =) !

But desperatly waiting for their next one !!!!!!! =)

  • I hope he doesnt kick anybody i really like their current guitarists solo's and they got the awesome drummer they also got in

''alive in athens'' idk bout the bassist but their current line up is perfect.

  • The by far best Song on the Album, Matt did a great job here, but so did the entire Band. They got what it takes, come what may.

  • @Saeda88 i would sure hope they have what it takes since they have been around since before most of youtube generation was even born

  • The vocals have quite a range. Matt Barlow's a great singer. The song is nice.

  • i love Barlow, he is my favourite singer, but damn i would love to hear a new song with Schaffer on vocals, or at least sharing vocals with Matt, like Stormrider, Burnt Offerings or Desert Rain

  • i agree, they mesh great.

  • a gift or a curse?

  • the best song on the album forever playing it again and again

  • This is very good cheuwnidge.

  • So Fucking True!!

Iced Earth Will Change The World

  • this song makes me cry! :'D

  • I grew up listening to them. (still growing, actually, lol) This song is the best in Crucible, by far. Barlow ftw

  • goodness Barlow's pitch is incredible from 5:30-5:45. everytime i listen to it i get goosebumps

    iced earth ftw

  • This is the best song from Crucible indeed. I'm so glad to Matt Barlow is back in the band.

  • it was a sad day when he left. then when he came back i was like, ya that's more like it

  • now what we all expect from jon schaffer is a FAST album from iced earth.. ;))))

  • What do you mean a fast album? I thinnk Jon's on vacation. I hope they crank out another album soon. I want more! LOL. I am glad that MAtt is back in the band. I hope they do another history based one and for the single they should redo some TGB songs along with the single track.

  • 5.40 Barlow´s highest pitch is freezing and beautiful at he same time.

Best groups, like, for me, Iced Earth, are a mixture of good composing(Schaffer), a good voice(Barlow´s) and passion for what they do(both). I think happens sth similar with Iron Maiden (Steve Harris composing and Bruce Dickinson singing).

  • Why is it that nobody can talk about Megadeth without someone Talkin shit about Metallica or Megadeth?

  • cuz they're fuckin dumb ass fuck man, shit i know what you mean.

  • cause most people dont even know what they are talking about

  • Alternica will never go back to its true metal ways . . . only if Cliff Burton came back from the dead would they go back to their roots...but it is highly unlikely this will happen prior to return of Jesus Christ.

  • mmmm METALLICA RULES MEN!!

  • I am so, damn, happy that Matt is back! all respect to Ripper, but his voice doesn´t belong in Iced Earth. I hope to see IE live again, last time saw em in 2008, and Tim Owens was signing. When they started "Watching Over me".. Pain, pure pain. Tim shouldn´t touch that song with a 10 foot pole, that´s Barlow through and through.

  • i like them both.... and tim is good to :O just different style's :)

  • Pain, pure pain, it´s funny, jajaja I´d like seeind them live too. I´ve never done it and i´d like. A live like the one in athens 1999, memorable. Those where the best times of this, my favourite, band.

  • Will you have what it takes?

Come what may <3 love the chorus

  • Listen to That was Just Your Life and TELL me that's not metal. Anywho WRONG BOARD TO DISCUSS THIS IN!

Yes, Matt being back on vocals makes everything right in Iced Earth again. I want a re-released Framing Armageddon now....or just a new album with music made for Barlow.

  • great song by iced earth but i really like more " stand alone or burning times, travel in stygian" and matt barlow makes difference!

  • o i know. they dont even know metal music... but ya man I wanna see IE live so bad now that Barlow is back. Ripper was okay at best to me.. but Barlow is the voice of IE.

another album that should be sweet coming out soon is Megadeth's new one. Sept 15 i think. if u aint heard it check out their new song called head crusher. their return to thrash form.

  • yes the game is gonna be sweet but megadeth only done one album that was not thrash and that was risk other than that they have never swayed away from their style too much except when mustaine damaged the nerve in his hand thats because he had to learn how to play again give em a break they have always kicked ass but this is an iced earth video not megadeth
