  • They retired the future. Profits before achievement !

  • Concord is noisey but fine !!!

  • What did the takeoff feel like? What did it feel like breaking the sound barrier? Sould you really see the curve of the earth?

  • Concorde > 777

  • What's the distance?

  • I am so jealous that you were able to fly on Concorde. Thanks for sharing this with us. Question, could you hear the after-burners?

  • @shepardbook No. I could hear that. But only feel afterburner in take off and feel afterburner cuts. Very comfort and not feel when build speed over Mach 1.

  • wow heathrow to jfk in 4 minutes?? lol ;)

  • you are one of the luckest people in the world to have experience that

  • my highest flight was at 49,724 feet with B777-300ER on cathay

  • Safety instructions are a waste of time on this beast

  • the best comment I've ever read on Youtube.

  • palandi>>>Thank you! It was a moment in time you'll never forget!

  • What the 49000 feet ?? Thats very high.. My Highest flight is 47000 with Boeing 777-300ER ,, But the Concorde is 49000 feet ,, greet video ^_^..

  • Some minutes after it was at 51500 feet. But normally Concorde are ceiling at 55000.

  • @vold1717

Concorde does (or did, sadly) a cruise climb.

That means that all the way across the Atlantic, they have the throttles fully open, and as they burn off fuel, they slowly drift higher as they become lighter. This means you'll notice the altitude slowly going up and up all the way through the cruise until descent.

    What a machine :)

  • thats not true^^ they don't have the throttles fully open during the whole flight.

the do climb during the whole flight until they start decending but they dont have the throttles fully open all the time. if they did, they would not even fly one third of the distance.

  • They don't have the AFTERBURNERS on for more than ten minutes going transonic after takeoff, where they are on for another two minutes,

Otherwise, until the top of descent, the throttles are at "full dry power" the entire time, except for a short period of noise abatement between the period after takeoff and before going transonic.

  • @astoniz Concorde ceiling altitude is actually 60000

  • Comment removed

  • @astoniz WTF!?? With a 773ER at 47000 Feet!!???

  • @GolfPlayer96 yeah it's true ,, cause there's a thunder storm that's why the pilot request a highest level of feet. Seriously I cant believe in my flight.

  • @astoniz the concordes top alt was 60 000 feet

  • that flight attendant is hot

  • Fantastic shot on take-off with the shadow. Thanks for sharing.

  • I'd be stuffing my pockets in that lounge!!! he he

  • Imagine getting to NY in 3.5 hours??? mental....it takes that to get from London to Norwich!! NY better though!!!

  • What an amazing video!

  • Great Concordee!!

  • Mach 2 at over 50,000 feet, would be an amazing experience

  • You were not captain! And it's not fun you talk bad about Air France-crash! :-(

  • yes, i was your air hostess

  • really, dumb shit? what was the flight number? I don't like it when people lie about such complex materials

  • I loved the shadow of the concorde on take-off

  • good video

  • Amazing!!!! I am glad to see another concorde for Air France 3:51& 3:57 on the video while you are riding the British Airways concorde. Long Live concorde!!!!

  • nice vid mate!! keep them coming

  • Arrived before you depart :P

  • Nice;-) How many hours did the flight take?

  • Amazingly it slowed down quickly after landing,

  • Yes thay all do that..... lol

  • cool that looked like a nice flight, i'm so terrified of flying, i'll probly never see england or asia, lol . that plane was really pointy he he he :)

  • WOW, amazing, the take off is really impressive with that shadow of the Concorde fading away :D

  • omg,speed:mach 2 and temp is -56 :OO

  • I hope you had an enjoyfull trip, nice video. The Concorde is a great plane. Sorry, but I can't flow with this plane, but I was inside in the traffic museum in Sinsheim/Germany and it was a good feeling.

  • WOW same with me!!!! It was great. :-)

  • Concorde is awesome! It is amazing how you got to NY before you got out of London

  • Concorde was a beautiful plane.

  • The guy wearing the yellow check shirt is a total dick! Must be eurotrash!!

  • :DDDD A TWA 747!

  • That's nice to get from Europe to the USA in 4 hours. Now it takes 9 hours without the concorde.

  • It's just Concorde, not the Concorde. Talk of it like a person.

Concorde flew from London to NY in 3.20 h, Paris to NY took 3.35 h.

  • Yeah but you don't say, "I like Boeing 747"; You say, "I like the Boeing 747". Thanks but I know what I'm doing.

  • No really, I know it's unusual, but that's the way it is done with Concorde.

Concorde is an exception, don't you see what im getting at.

I can even quote a book on Concorde by a Concorde captain:

'Concorde remains an icon of aviation history, and has acquired an unusual nomenclature for an aircraft. In common usage in the United Kingdom, the type is known as "Concorde" rather than "the Concorde" or "a Concorde".'

  • Thanks for telling me that it's "Concorde" and I do believe you now. But I'm so used to calling it "The Concorde" it's going to take some effort to start calling it just "Concorde". It sounds so weird... lol. Thanks again!

  • I know that you say the 747 or you talk about the a380. I never said you didn't, so don't put words in my mouth.

I wouldn't say it if I didn't know for sure. Being British, everywhere it is just Concorde, the media, BA themselves, the way we talk about it in everyday life - it's Concorde.

Thanks, but really, it's me who knows what I'm doing...

  • I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth, I was just giving an example and trying to make a point.

  • Well, your point was wrong.

  • Clearly. Did you not just read my other comment I wrote?!

  • Yes I did. But it does not show you understanding what I said.

It's Concorde, not the Concorde not a Concorde.

    Simple enough?

  • Well, I do have to say sorry, but your comment was not shown in my comment box.

  • I guess I shouldn't keep relying on my comment box, because I feel slightly embarrassed now! I thought you were picking at me for no reason, but my fault!

  • lol... it's okay. I thought you were still mad at me even though I acknowledged the fact that you were right and I was wrong. As long as you know I wasn't trying to pick at you.

  • ANYONE HAVE GREY POUPON?

  • It was lots of food there !

  • Ah the 10:30am Concorde, departing towards the east from Heathrow south runway.

That was flight number BA001 wasn't it?

  • That is some fancy ass lounge. Wow.

  • How many minutes after entering the air is the sound barrier broken? and btw great plane

  • I think about 20 minutes after takeoff. It's forbidden to broke sound barrier over country in UK and USA.

  • Londen-New york = how many hours with the concorde??

  • About 4 hours (from terminal in London to terminal in NYC)

  • that's nothing:D

    and now with the 747?

  • Nice video. The music being played at landing - was it on board to reassure passenger? Or was it cut in by you? Thanks

  • during flight Paris New York 3h30 nice

  • how much did first class cost? what did it feel like breaking the the speed of sound?

  • They haven't first class in Concorde (BA). Only Concorde-class :-)

  • Nothing happens when you break the sound barrier, it is a smooth transition. The machmeter will tell you and some people would cheer and make a toast and stuff. On some flights the crew would announce it also.

Other than that, you feel nothin physical. Just the thrill of knowing you're flying supersonically on Concorde.

  • wow, that meal actually looks edible. But I cant imagine the cost of the first class ticket.

  • Anywhere between £4,500 and £8,000. Depending when it was and what offers were on. (BA, LHR - JFK)

  • what airliner is this?

  • It's British Airways.

  • You know if you kept that clock running you would notice you lost two seconds of time, as in earth would be two seconds ahead of you.

  • The first time I saw the Concorde, we were set to take off before it and we actually got to watch them take off from the tarmac and follow behind them. The other two times weren't as exciting as that first one.

  • u r so lucky to go on the concorde, that is my facorite plane in the world but guess what there not around any more so now i cant see or ride on a REAL concorde i have to look at modle that all >:(

  • i watched the very last commercial concord flight fly over my house to jfk :)

  • holy crap, at the beginning, da place with all the couches and stuff, is dat da terminal? holy crap dats awesom.

  • Well its the lounge really, called the Concorde Room.

  • Beautifull view!

  • wow it's like a fastfoward motion of normal aircraft.

  • Omg $3000! that is a lot of money for a flight to JFK. It worth every penny because you go there at like 3hrs. compared to a boeing plane which is like 5/6 hrs. You can even visit the cockpit, too which is really cool. The thing i don't like about is it is so noisy that it hurts my ears, but i like the sounds though.

  • "Omg $3000! that is a lot of money for a flight to JFK."

...that was also about a quarter of the price of a typical Concorde rountrip fare though. Good deal for this service.

  • Awesome - thanks for sharing this.

  • The French still have a Concorde they run up and down the runway every so often!!!

  • Sadly, they don't. They WANT to do it. But i'm not saying I dont want them to, because I do!

  • air france's concorde is better!!!

  • Its a Plane - Just a damned plane! So WHY do I miss her so much!!! RIP Concorde. And thanks for this rare posting of an "interior" take-off and landing! I flew on her just the once - I wish I'd had the chance for another go.

  • U lucky bu***

  • it was expensive ,noisy but the best thrill of my life to date - september 12,1989 - concorde- heathrow to jfk - my round world first class on qantas ,british airways, concorde -from sydney was aus $6,500 - one of my better investments! and concorde now extinct :(

  • It's amazing how quiet the thing is inflight compared to outside. But i suppose it would be impossible to fly on otherwise. maybe one day commercial jetliners will be able to fly this efficiently this fast. Beautiful plane that I wish i'd gotten a chance to fly like my uncle.

  • There is four settings for the nose.

    1. Fully up with visor this is selected for supersonic flight.

    2. visor down with nose up for prolonged subsonic flight

    3. Nose 5 degrees down for grater visibility on take off and taxing.

    4. Nose 12.5 degrees down for grater visibility upon approach and landing

  • Lucky kids..!!!

  • I would have given a lot to fly with this amazing machine... You're lucky !

  • they stopped it cause it was too dangerous and too expensive so it can't fly with no passengers

  • yes, it was too expensive...but too dangerous?

  • Too dangerous? the Concorde only had one major accident in the 30 years it was in service...I highly doubt that safety was a concern. it was simply too costly to maintain and too fuel inefficient.

  • "Too dangerous? the Concorde only had one major accident in the 30 years it was in service"

    27 years...

that said, one accident, in a commercial fleet of only 13 aircraft at that time, does indeed give Concorde the worst statistical safety record of any jet in commercial service at the time. With so few aircraft flying, it should NEVER have crashed.

If the worldwide 747 fleet had had that margin of safety, we'd have lost more than 400 of them by now.

  • And it would never have crashed but for that lump of metal!!!!

  • Who's to say?

    1) the lump of metal was only one of several egregious human errors that happened in the F-BTSC incident.

    2) Concorde had a history of over 50 tire bursts/blowout, with 29 of them causing structural damage-- who's to say the next one wouldn't have been fatal even if this one had been survivable?

In summary: "never" isn't exactly a safe word to use here.

  • I suppose you're right, never say never as they say, although as you've said previously there were no more fatal accidents in the remainder of Concorde's operation. I wish I could have flown on it! Did you get the chance? What's your favourite airliner?

  • Yes.

I got to ride F-BVFB and F-BVFF with AF, on charters at a heavily-reduced price.

The only transatlantic experience I had was on G-BOAC, October 12, 2003 (Bday present from my parents). Interestingly enough, we blew a tire on takeoff, and had to wait 40min before disembarking at LHR upon arrival while they inspected it.

My favorite (specific) airliner of them all is the 777-232LR, considering that I'm a major Widgeteer ;)

  • With modern technology, the plane would have been much safer. Keep in mind the main technologies of Concorde were developed between the late 50's to early 60's. Were there flaws? Yes. Was the overall product as advanced as the 707, or even the 747? Yes.

  • this is one of the awsome airplane

  • how many hours did it take

  • Departing LHR at 11:07am, it is 06:07am at JFK. Landing in JFK at 09:38am, the flight took about 3 hours and 30 minutes. Very impressive!

  • Can't believe the idiots stopped Concorde, it was the biggest step into the furture made in the 20th Century.

  • Yes and no. It was supersonic, yes...but it came with a big price..fuel inefficiency. so it was not an incredible step because it was not affordable to fly on for most people.

  • i miss the concorde

  • How cool. You guys must have some money .

    $8000.00 round trip. NY -London.

  • nice

  • wow, to see all of thoses old liverys, amazing..the twa, now american, air jamacia, now a different livery.

thanks for posting, was a pleasure.

  • Not to mention a DC-10

  • love the shadow

  • Lovely vid. Wow the Concorde lounge at LHR looked like the lobby of a 5 star hotel.

  • Excellent video - thank you for posting!!!

  • stupid question, but did YOU put in the music at the end or was it in the CONCORDE?

  • It was music and copied to tape in the Concorde :-)

  • Heldiggris!

  • Mach 2.00 (1,280 mph), -56C (-69F) at 51,500 feet, WOW!

  • That is probobly that fastest speed any civilian has ever reached.

  • Yeah go Concorde:)

  • Its more than just a plane!

  • nice!!

    i miss the concord

  • I found out recently why the concorde has its famous droopy nose. It was supposed to affect the way the plane flows through the air.

  • Actually they used the nose instead of flaps.

  • Amazing, arrived in New York before you took off. LOL

  • ;-)

  • whats that supposed to mean?

  • "nathanjeffrey114

Amazing, arrived in New York before you took off."

    That's because i ;-)
