This style of bike lane is less safe than regular bike lanes because it creates a dangerous conflict with cars trying to turn across it. It makes sense places where there are few driveways and cross streets, but makes no sense downtown.

Cars turn left all the time there! I find it safer and faster to use René Levesque.
