The only changes is that the 3rd generation has its faster. The graphics will display the same but faster on the 3g. The graphics dont get better, the OpenGL 2.0 your talkinga bout is a API, a programming interface, and I believe nothing has changed there, if so they would have to have different modes for games on 2g and 3g to enable different features. Its same for PC's.

ATI4650 and a ATI4890 both support DX10, both will run the same games ATI4650 will just be alot slower. As for the 4890 will be faster, if you go comparing a ATI4650 with a ATI5770 the 5770 supports DirectX11. But the ATI4650 dosn't so if theres a directx11 specific game the 4650 wouldent be able to run it because it lacks the DX11 API. I guess your talking about OpenGL2.0ES support, which if they took advantage of there would be 3g only games. I wouldent know since I use my ZuneHD over touch.

If they did include a newer opengl version then thats fine, but you have no proof that they are "making better graphics" it may just be more efficent/updated API.

you clearly didnt read what i said. Yes, a new OpenGL API version does incorporate better graphics (eg newer pixel shaders). But its not just magically gonna make stuff look better its gonna look the same unless a coder codes it specifically to use certain features of the new api.

keep in mind that iphones/ipod touches have a screen resolution of 480 x 320 and the ipad is 720p.. I dont remember the edsact resolution. So if you played an ipod touch/iphone game or used some app and stretched it to full screen it would be slightly blurry. ipad exclusive games will look MUCH better though.

iPhone 3G - 432 Mhz

iPod Touch 3G 8G - 534 Mhz

iPod Touch 32/64 GB - 600 Mhz

iPhone 3Gs - 600 Mhz

so the iPod touch 3g 8gig is faster than the iPhone 3g but just a little bit.

therefore it's also faster than the iTouch 2g 8g

while the 32/64 GB is as fast as the 3GS.

I don't need research, when you say clearer, you meen resolution wich tells me that you do not know what your talking about. And no, graphics are technically the same because it's the game that has the graphics, and it's the ipod that can show them with the processor and video card, opengl 2.0 like you said. Graphics can be manually upgraded with the game, but roller coaster rush doesn't have this option. Your facts prove nothing and yes, 3g is faster but the graphics is the SAME!

The 8GB model is the exact same thing as the 2nd gen model. The "3rd gen" has no added features; no new processor, no voice control, etc.

The only difference between the 8GB "3rd gen" and the 2nd gen 8gb model is that the 3rd gen comes with the 3.1 firmware.
